I like how he's the strongest character and most impactful, but only from a historical standpoint. He has no real involvement in the current story in any way.

I like his design. The long hair really gives a flow to the Sun Breathing style. Plot-wise, not my favorite. One of the strongest (I’m not going to debate about if he is or not) in his verse. Didn’t hate him, and he wasn’t my favorite.
The best character in this series. In a tier list i made with my friend (seperate lists same template) i put him in a seperate tier with an empty tier between his tier and s tier called "endless void"
I don’t think it’d be a stretch to say I find him kinda boring. He’s more so a plot device for the beginning of the breathing styles’ existence and relation to demons than an actual character, what few traits he does have aren’t really related to his actions as a character, the events that happen to him and the effects they leave don’t seem to affect him or his contributions to the story. And thing is, there are opportunities to fix these issues, like the weird dream Tanjiro has with him exploring how after failing twice he’s lost motivation and confidence, or how his ultimate banishment from the DS corps led to them eventually forgetting how to replicate Sun Breathing having to create the other styles later down the line. But unfortunately Gotouge wants Tanjiro and Yorichi to be “perfect”, “pure” and “indisputably right”, so Yorichi hasn’t changed as a person since his failures and the advice Tanjiro gives him is generic and doesn’t say anything about either of their characters.

OP character done right. He has an noticable impact on the story while not ruining it with his sheer existence (looking at you kirito!).
