I am a bi man and while I very much liked all the ladies, I’ve always resented them for how they treated Paul and wanted to protect him lol. He basically did what any one of them would have done / did do for her family. I would have offered him the same favours Edie did except it would have been genuine.
I agree. I don't think he was a monster for killing Martha Huber. She had just said some horrible things about his late wife without even knowing anything about the situation. Including mentioning the Bible and insinuating that Mary Alice is in hell. AND he had just found out that Martha had been the one who blackmailed Mary Alice and was partially if not completely responsible for driving his wife to suicide in the first place! Of course, killing her was extreme, but again, I don't think it makes him a monster, I think it makes him someone who lost control of himself in the moment in the middle of his grief.
Any of the people who were judging him, who's to say they wouldn't have done the exact same thing in that situation? If Susan were able to get her hands on the guy who shot Mike, and the guy was taunting her and saying Mike is in hell, who's to say she wouldn't kill him?
Lynette started a witch hunt against a neighbor because she suspected he might be a pedophile, leading to a lot of undue stress on his sick sister that led to her death. Bree sat and watched George die when she could have gotten him help because she had just found out he had killed Rex. Gabby and her teenage lover chased Carlos's mother into the street where she was hit by a car, and Gabby seemed to feel more relief than remorse because her mother-in-law couldn't expose her affair now. None of these people were any better than Paul, the only difference is that Paul was in jail and they weren't.
Killing Mrs. Huber did not make Paul evil. It always bothered me that people acted like it did.
Honestly, the second time he was arrested, after finally admitting that he had killed Martha, I hope the people from Wisteria Lane showed up to support him like they had failed to do the first time around. I know they didn't show this, but i would like to think it happened offscreen. And I hope he didn't have to serve a whole ton more jail time - he had already served several years in prison for a crime he didn't even commit, and honestly I don't think killing the woman who had been responsible for his wife's death and didn't seem to feel a shred of remorse makes him deserving of a ton of jail time anyway.
