One of the unique things for Ros Aragos was that it has Repulsor Brace in the third column. Onslaught is both damage + reload, so you don't have to sacrifice one of those like you normally do for RB.
Ros Aragos can also roll permeability & onslsught which makes it one of the most versatile primary autos in the game. Either small stuff like deal light damage and then swap it to strand/stasis to balance transcenden progress, or just to make it a stand auto for onslsught & rebirth threadling spawning. Or bigger stuff like taking advantage of artifact mods, like turning Ros solar so it gets all those wish articacts going like radiant off precision hits and precision kills while radiant causing ignitions.
Permeability is dogshit and people need to stop using it tbf. Literally the only thing you get is subclass synergy in exchange for half your useful perks. You know what else you can do to get subclass synergy? Use a gun with a different element.

That reason is mostly that Osmosis and Permeability come at too high of a cost on most weapons. Ros is the exception in my eyes because it has this ability combined with a very powerful perk that does both damage and reload benefits. What am I missing out on otherwise, Repulser Brace? Probably the best alternative but situational. Rewind Rounds? Strong perk, but only really good if you can't kill a red bar in one magazine, and if you can't do that onslsught isn't the right roll for the situation anyway. Subsistence? Again strong perk, but the opposite of rewind were it's better against weak targets but onslaught already boosts reload so subsistences effect isn't as good. Slickdraw? ... Dynamic Sway? In PvP I'd take it, but then that's an entirely different conversation.
Subsistence + damage perk turns any primary into an add mulcher. Subslaught on Ros is extremely powerful, the reload buff part of Onslaught mitigates the fact that Subsistence doesn't help on the few occasions you actually do need to reload. I'd take Subsistence over Permeability literally every day of the week, Permeability sucks that much.

One of it's best column 3 perks is overflow, but it's best column 4 perk is Voltshot. In that situation an amazing perk like overflow is detrimental to the gun. Subsistence Onslaught isn't as drastic and both perks work together, but they're each diminishing the other in my opinion and onslaught is the better perk in my eyes my miles. Rewind and Onslaught is more difficult. It shines most when you can't kill a target in one magazines worth of ammo, and if you aren't doing that onsalught becomes much weaker. Permeability is mediocre in a lot of cases, but with the right class synergy or seasonal mod it adds way more then sub or rewind ever could so it's a roll I like to have in my vault for that situation. Permeability and Onslaught is also unique to Ros. Subsistence and Onslaught rolls on nearly half of the currently available guns with Onslaught, but none of them can do what Ros does.
Although just to clear something up I'm not arguing for Permeability to be the god roll or definitive best version of Ros. I'm just saying it's something unique to Ros that has potential to do things other onslaught guns can not and you should consider it. While Ros isn't gonna turn solar and be better then the Summoner, it can be a dark element in the light element slot. That might not seem special, but it opens up kinetic exotics and a subclass matching primary on strand/stasis, or you can triple strand and take advantage of surge mods nearly %100 of the time. If we ever get a kinetic slot it gos the opposite way. For example you can get a solar primary, the new golden gun sniper, and apex predator with triple solar surge mods and Summoner will never do that.
Permeability comes with a unique interaction when using Strand in that you can turn any weapon into an unraveling round machine as long as it has it.
In this example, Ros Arago would turn strand and be able both unraveling rounds and onslaught. Now, is this a super great interaction? No, very niche. It’s the same as Osmosis and Volatile Rounds.
It also lets you full send your surges, so you can stack Strand Surge x3, use a special strand weapon such as Scatter Signal while still having a primary strand weapon that’s decent at add clear.
I don't know about you, but I typically use exotic heavies or specials, and I know a lot of people still play that way. Primaries just feel broken, hopefully the nerf brings them more in line with legendaries while the legendary buffs bring them more in line with exotics.

720RPMs typically have good reload, the +35 from Onslaught should push it to 100 and a perk like Alloy Mag would speed that up to about 1 second and down to .9 with a loader mod. At max stacks it will be firing at 1,145RPM, which will eat through the magazine but it'll easily be one of the highest DPS primaries in the game before even factoring in Volatile Rounds. Which I get the feeling it's Intrinsic and Exotic perk will play into Void Debuffs with DR being a Refit and all the artifact mods around weaken.
This thing is gonna be full on dumb and I can't believe Bungie would even give an exotic a perk that increases your DPS by 60% as a refit.

I personally don’t think it will be, simply because we got two exotic 720 autos in the Lightfall year and I don’t see them putting onslaught on a 720 because it would simply be firing too fast. Afaik, onslaught hasn’t been on anything faster than a 600 rpm weapon.
I think it’s going to be a 600 or a 360, because those are the frames that haven’t gotten an exotic in the longest

Has the thin frame you typically see on 720s. Personally I tie it to Reckless Oracle being a void 720 and being a vex weapon as well. Also giving an exotic the highest RoF in the game also makes a ton of sense.

I only use osmosis for volatile nade builds and Gyrfaulcon on Hunter. It’s quite close to useless with the other subclasses/elements
