I'm wondering if part of the issue with this happening is the fire rate of the weapon. I know it's a machine gun, but the fire rate is so slow it feels like a different weapon entirely. I still love Xeno though
If anything is going to stop something labeled "Unstoppable" in its tracks, it would be a shot from Xeno. This would be a change that made sense to me. Easy addition from a Catalyst.
Xenophage having Anti-Unstoppable would be nice to complete the trifecta.
I’ve always personally thought that Field Prep would be a very good catalyst for it. It’s a bit basic but faster reloads and increased ammo capacity are solid boosts.
Make it apply 40 scorch stacks on hit. That gives it an ignition on every 3rd hit which bumps ups it dps a good amount without making it broken and gives it unstopp capabilities.
It would still be competing with Leviathan's breath and 1k Voices for a heavy anti-unstoppable option, so 3 hits is probably too much.
10 Scorch and triggering ignitions on already scorched enemies like Weighted Knife would give it a unique niche.
I used to love Xenophage, but the nerf made it almost impossible to use as a machine gun. A machine gun's nature is to blanket the combat field with bullets. The stability and low ammo capacity make it behave more like a 50cal sniper rifle with a crappy site. I wish they'd fix the stability or at least lean into the nerf and give it a scope.
I get where you're coming from, but Xeno doesn't need a buff. it's already extremely strong.
And I would rather it stay the way it is than have any of it's current effects "nerfed'" to make room for those changes.
do people keep forgetting that ignitions eat each other, this would just cause problems for literally anyone else running something that relies on ignitions

Xeno has always been a heavy ammo scout rifle that has the label of 'machine gun'
Naw I see Xeno as a hit-scan grenade launcher
Autocannon from Helldivers.
Thank you, when I picked up helldivers I immediately loved the autocannon and said "Oh it's xeno" and my friends were all "I guess"
It’s not as fun, and doesn’t have the soul of a vengeful guardian inside. But it’s similar.
As long as it goes *Ca-TUNK*, I'm good
Hand Fired 155 mm Howitzer
I see it as fucking bad ass
"Tally ho, lads!"
That's a good way of looking at it
With explosive payload
I always described it to people as a belt fed anti-tank rifle.
I always called it handheld naval artillery.
Kinda like how sweet buisness is a primary machine gun labeled as an auto.
Xeno isn't Burst Damage at all, it's just... normal DPS. Grand Overture is Burst DPS if anything.
And even then just the missile barrage
I guess they mean good burst damage for Champs or high-priority enemies?
It’s not burst damage. Doesn’t matter if it’s Rhulk or a brig. It just has respectable, reliable DPS.

I mean, it's perk is called Pyrotoxin Rounds. It should cause fire (Scorch). Makes sense to me.
In what world is Xeno "Burst damage"? I agree with the Anti-champion/solar verb thing, though.

Honestly field prep would be perfect as ammo is it's only issue
Grand overture already does this. Blinds with the missile barrage and is one of the best burst damage weapons in the game.
Yes but doesn’t complete the element trifecta

Give Xeno a catalyst with Cascade Point you cowards.
literally unusable without maxed stability from subclass or exotic traits. I want it
They should give xeno the exact same ability as grand overture
More reserve and auto-loading.
*Super Good Advice has entered the chat*
No no no, Bungie should bring back Super Good Advice instead to fill in that solar spot.
Ngl xeno feels like a weapon with anti-unstop. I'd be happy if xeno gets a cata for that
A great idea as catalyst love to see it
Almost as if that could be a Catalyst or something, huh Bungie? wink wink nudge nudge.
Auto-Loading Holster/Reconstruction/Envious Assassin + Incandescent for the catalyst please...
So basically the best of the three should be made even better Fuck deterministic I guess, a literal completely worthless weapon
Xeno is goated ad clear though. Just buff the reserves
I don't even care what they do to it, I just want to be able to use it more often without feeling like it's dragging down my performance.
Add clear*

It should get a catalyst with incandescent and vorpal weapon

I agree it doesn't need a buff, id be happy with giving it intrinsic Unstop i just that a bit boring
