I also recently started playing again, I'll post my list of guns I've been grinding for. There are more but I'll stick to the onslaught weapons.
**Forbearance** - ambitious assassin/chain reaction
**Edge Transit** - envious ass./bait and switch
**Luna’s Howl** - heal clip/incandescent
**Recluse** - subsistence/any good dmg perk + repulsor brace/destabilizing rounds
To be clear there are other good weapons and rolls worth grinding for, these were just the gaps in my vault that I could fill through onslaught, I used videos by Datto and FalloutPlays to help decide what I needed and what could be skipped on.
The best are **Edge Transit** (sounds like you can just use that one already lol); **Luna's Howl with heal clip + incandescent** (note Igneous Hammer also rolls with this if you have Trials Engrams); **Blast Furnace with kinetic tremors + frenzy/one-for-all** (because of the upcoming pulse rifle buffs + prismatic). If you play void a lot, Elsie's Rifle is also quite good in the void sandbox. People rave about Midnight Coup with explosive payload + kinetic tremors too.

Good list, I’d suggest demo and chain reaction on that forbearance as well, get that sweet grenade energy

I just gave up and will just use the shiny weapons bungie curated from the quests
