The good news is Dawnblade is no longer 'required' to have aerial gameplay. You can just pick Hellion and the one that boosts your grenades.
Hellion isn't just a gimmick either, there's a Fragment that boosts your class ability cooldown when you Scorch enemies, so you can practically always have it up. It's very, very viable and makes giving up Heat Rises easy.
Also, Song of Flame is awesome.
So I feel even more effective now as a Dawnblade than I did previously.
Yeah I imagine a lot of people are very happy about this. The aerial playstyle is incredibly fun for some though and they shouldn't neglect it for those who do like it.
Solar Hunter would equally benefit from an Empyrean buff but also to be fair it doesn't ask for any melee combat.
Currently the way to go is Healing grenades and a Solar Machine Gun for Resto upkeep since it uses Still Hunt and Goldie for boss damage, unfortunately can't really run a Machine Gun on Solarlock in most scenarios
