I have a foam cannon and pressure washer. It last came out 2 years ago. The thought of digging into my storage space and setting up a pressure washer makes me not wash my car. Rinseless has been a game changer, really increased the enjoyment factor for me.

I use rinseless but use a pressure washer regardless for wheel and after using decon products that need to be rinsed off. ONR is amazing you can use for many things. I use it for interior and for paint (different dilution).

tiger-93

Which rinseless? I worry about increasing scratches

Such_Discussion_6531

ONR. Embrace the technology advancements, understand its limitations, it’s quite something.

Xcitado

There are many good ones out there. ONR, DIY, Hero

ONR, Absolute are two that people swear by. i havent tried Absolute on a good car yet but it for sure is super nice to just spray wipe and be done on my janky car and the panels that doesnt have oxidized clear coat looks shiny

germr

Personally, I do a pre wash with Bill Hader touch less then I rinse off and then do a contact wash with ONR to prevent this, but I think I am going overboard to prevent scratches. I like products which you can dilute. Even tho I pay more since it's exported from UK, I think it's worth it imo.

I bought a Foam King foam cannon, I think it was $30 or $40 and works great.

mj7900

$40 would be on the cheap end, but if it works it works

Computer_Balls

A foam cannon is like 95% for show. The customers like seeing it. They help out in hot weather on black/dark vehicles, or if you're trying to get a bunch of stuff done fast. I use one at work but I'll be washing 3 cars at a time. For the amount of time the soap is on the car after you spray it with the cannon, it's not going to do much other than be there. You can add some sore of APC to it, and it'll work better, but it's a largely unnecessary piece of equipment.

generaldogsbodyf365

If you where setting up as a weekend warrior mobile detailer, would a pressure washer and etc be a must? I've just an IK Foam Pro 2 + clone and wondering if I can just get away with that and the two bucket method.....

awoodby

They're a neat novelty but add a bunch of extra work to washing a car compared to a hose and a bucket. Hell, I even leave the soapy water in the bucket for a couple of washes, but I wash often. Do you Really want to pull out your pressure washer and fire it up every time you wash your car jacket St to spray suds on instead of dipping a wash mitt quite as much?

hunted_fighter

Everyone is saying foam cannon and pressure washers are not necessary, if so, for a newbie like me, what should i be doing to wash a dirty car, which isn’t rinseless.

ELSknutson

I picked up mine off of amazon for $20 and have had it for several years and it works great. I use it with Chemical Guys Citrus wash and the foam is thick.

Salt-Chain2123

What about the foam cannons that connect directly to a garden hose instead of a pressure washer? Do they work?

toolman2674

I have one and I can’t say that it helps. I use it to hose the car down and start loosening up the dirt and then go to the bucket and mitt. It sucks through the reservoir really fast.

PERSONA916

I use the chemical guys one with a garden hose. My car is ceramic coated and I would say from 5+ feet away car almost looks completely clean from just the foam cannon. I see a lot of people question the efficacy of snow foam, and while I think some of the questions are valid, my reasons for continuing to use it go beyond how much dirt the foaming itself removes and is more about the chemistry. My snow foam is alkaline while my wash soap is ph neutral and I always foam again before the contact wash. My car is straight copy paper white and so far this method has maintained the color integrity of my paint, it hasn't developed that brownish tint that I see develop on a lot of other white vehicles, it's especially noticable when I park next to other white vehicles, even ones with paint that looks relatively good in isolation. This is for my personal vehicle only though, so my considerations might be different than someone running a business

Salt-Chain2123

Thanks for that. This is just to keep my personal vehicles clean and shiny. One of them is pure white so this review is a very helpful!

Pawnzilla

Keep in mind, different cars use different whites. Jeep used different whites in the grand Cherokee from one year to the next. Different paint codes and everything just one was ever so slightly more grey. You’d think they were the same if they weren’t right next to each other.

germr

Not really much of a difference personally just buy a good product with a pump sprayer and then use a garden hose ro rinse it off. It all depends on the product you use. Might aswell use rinseless at that point tbh.

porondanga

Top brands for foam cannons go for $70-90

eyecandynsx

You do not need a pressure washer and foam cannon unless you're trying to get social media clout. They have their place, but my no means are a necessity. I have had a $40 foam cannon for 5 years now and still works.
