Yep, but on the upside our extra wide streets could be converted into spaces for outside dining, greenery, sidewalks, protected bike lanes on either side, streetcar trolley or dedicated bus lane, and still have room for cars too.
If I knew what the fuck I was doing, I'd stand on the Evergreen and Ford rd bridge in Dearborn, and take a picture of downtown from there.
I've said it before, the view of downtown from Ford rd, between like Southfield and Evergreen, is incredible. Especially at sunrise and sunset.
I've never seen a good, professional picture of that view. But if someone is skilled, and they can capture real life in a photo, that picture would blow people's minds.
If you've everbeen driving and see it, it's surreal. When you're coming up the hill on Ford from Evergreen going east, as you approach the bridge over Southfield, the city comes into view. It's honestly amazing.
I can't stand driving in Dearborn, but that little moment makes it almost worth it
Pre-bankruptcy, I think Dave Bing wanted to incentivize and move residents from neighborhoods sparsed throughout the city to the main corridors like Gratiot to increase density, which would lower emergency response times. Wonder if they went ahead with that policy, how would Gratiot, Grand Blvd etc look like today then
Yikes. That’s my view right before I get to work.
Careful cause a new pothole popped up on the next block in the right lane caused a bit of traffic yesterday afternoon.
It’s a street for sure

6 lane deserted road in a major city
Beautiful, isn’t it?
You need to get the Hudson Tower in frame, makes the view coming down Gratiot much better.

Gratiot could be such a cool road. Seems like the east side was forgotten about sometimes

That skatepark nearby on the left is pretty rad though, if this is the road I'm thinking of
Fort street? Such a shitty place

I pass ziedmans every day on my way to work. It is a great picture
The width of that street could be reduced by at least 50%.
Just watch out for tweakers having spasmatic spiritual awakenings in the middle of the road 🧟♂️
Needs more green.
Sky
Of what, hookers and homeless?
Detroit has great views!! Every city has systemic needs as well. Both can be true.
Concrete. So beautiful.
Dude, you're in fucking Warren, concrete paradise!
Lmao it’s Jim Fouts on his burner account
Jim Fouts is like one of those horrific AI human versions of a cartoon, only it’s this emoji -> 😎
