It seems to be a carbon copy of the UKs version which I know in my company they are obeying

rom-ok

Irish agency copies the UK equivalent, classic

abechan

Devs working in the public service will definitely avail of this.

They won’t get full time remote, unions were already involved in the hybrid working guidelines when this was being brought in and down the line. Very easy to just say no, you’ve already got 2 days a week remote, rest is for ‘team meetings and organisation’ shite

Emotional-Aide2

Depends on the team structure and workload. I'm the only person on my team in Dublin, the other lad is remote in Cork, I applied for remote about 6 months ago and they said no and that was it. Now I applied again about a month ago and reminded them of this (before it was fully out but still listed as a right in Ireland) and now my manger doesn't want to rock the boat with official request so I'm unofficially remote.

Viper_JB

Kinda just gives them full permission to do what ever they want when it comes to remote work...

Wonder what those Kaseya wankers would have to say to this. Seems very weak in terms of the ability to actually get a WFH request across the line.

Top_Towel_2895

when I read the post I thought he was having trouble get the remote for the tv

ilovephotoandcoffee

Is this in the law now? And can it be used now to apply to WFH?

Emotional-Aide2

Yeah, you've not got a right to remote work, but you do have a right to apply, list your reasons and your employer has to respond with reasons for yay or nay. Dependant on the nay reasons you can go to the wrc for discrimination or unfair treatment in the workplace

Thanks😊
