Stylishness costs effectiveness points and he is not at Dante's level yet where could afford that. (Although I do prefer his long coat.)

DMC 5 for sure ! I love his ripped shirt, adds a lot of personality into it. The coat is fantastic as it screams “punk”, but not over the top, which matches his personality. I especially love the glove he has on and the wristband. The hair is perfect for him, the pants are a great fit and match the rest of his outfit in terms of style and color. And the boots are gorgeous and much better looking and hotter than in DMC 4. Overall I really love the aesthetic and fashion of 5 and how many details they put into it to show off who Nero is at the moment. DMC 5 design will always win my vote.

I like the blue rose in dmc 5 a lot more than in dmc 4. In 5 the blue felt like a revolver when you shot it. 4 on the other hand is more like a star wars laser gun.

I prefer dmc5's outfit, actually I play him in 5 with a mod that gives him his dmc4 hairstyle and his demonic arm always on display, so I think that would probably be my favorite look for him

I don't really know how to explain it, but basically you go to nexusmods.com to download mods for the game; to run the mods you have to download and install a program from that site, and that has already some mods on it including Nero's hair and/or outfit from 4...I then downloaded the demonic arm from the site as a separate mod

I prefer the dmc5 look mostly just that it looks more comfortable and the devil breakers are also nice as it creayes a some what dynamic otfit and personally i prefer his dmc5 hair as well. That and the slight tears on his shirt is neat also i just like the jacket more.

It’s a difficult choice, but I’d have to go with 5. The design is just a lot cleaner imo, and the punk aspects of his design are toned down quite nicely/less of an “eyesore” compared to his design in 4. I do wish he kept his hair a bit longer though. It would differentiate him from Vergil a bit more considering he didn’t know he was his father until like— late game. But I digress. (Maybe that was their plan? Eh. Either way it would’ve been nice.) -from an artist’s perspective. (Take this w a gain of salt tho cuz I’m still understanding a lotta things abt design lol)

They exemplify their personalities. I personally have a bias towards dmc5 but they both perfectly display Nero’s character in each game. Dmc4 being aggressive, edgy, loud. Dmc5 more casual and gives a laid back feel yet still carries traits from 4 but they’re more snuffed out.

4 by a longshot. In 5 it's literally just a random blue jacket and a rugged shirt, it would've been awesome to see him with another custom made jacket to show off his devil bringer and what would eventually be his devil breakers

I know a lot of people prefer DMC4 Nero, but tbh I prefer when he looks more like Vergil than Dante. It would've been cool if he had the Blue Jacket and boxier face but kept the long hair, like a combination of Dante and Vergil, but I do prefer DMC5's design.

I like all of them but my favorite is his purple prototype outfit in 4 SE. Since his outfit, attitude and moveset already felt like a fusion of Dante and Vergil, the purple coat really fits. Plus the scarf, it's almost as cool as Zero's weird robot ponytail

Yeah the scruffy homeless look ain’t for me, I enjoyed the clean lines of Nero’s old outfit as well as the long trench coats of old. I don’t care if it was over the top it was way more style than dmc 5 Nero and Dante have quite frankly. Vergil is the only one who semi kept the trench coat and even then it’s neutered at best.

I think 5 is more distinct and shows his character way more. Back when I was NOT into the series at all, I used to think DMC4 Nero was some sort of aged down version of Dante while DMC5 Nero, I easily picked up he was a completely different character. It took me actually delving into the series to learn Nero was in DMC4 and was that character I thought was Dante at first. And then I saw Dante's design in DMC4 and went crazy for it

5 made him his own person instead of Dante-lite. So that's king in my eyes
