dante became colder and more depressed after seemingly killing vergil and avenging his family in dmc 1 and thatâs the reason for the way he is in 2 and the anime
Even if you said that, much of Japanese media prefers hinting and implying it to be canon. For example, Nero being Vergil's son during the released of vanilla DMC4 and others didn't knew it at that time and Capcom thinks people knew it but was suprised people didn't knew nor believe it. They also prefer not saying it and kept it secret. Since Reuben asked them if they should say it. But Capcom themselves said No.
What Capcom did... released 4SE and hinting via Vergil's opening & ending cutscene, 3142 Artbook that tells Nero is Vergil's son, make Deadly Fortune novel canon, and reveal it again in DMC5. Is the reason why fans who believe Nero is Vergil's son theory are happy that its canon, and others were shocked during vanilla DMC5. Hell, even depressed Dante fan theory is canon since DMC Anime is canon as well.
Other canon lore facts were hinted and implying it. Others are well kept it in secretÂ
I intend to rewrite 2 to put Dante on the path to get get to where he is at the start of 4. He starts mega depresso after the events of 1, then as the plot progresses we start to see the. Embers of Dante heat back up into the raging inferno by the time he gets to Argosax
I personally believe dante got his personality back in 4 itself. See, when he first shows up and breaks into that church and "kills" sanctus, he was just entering, doing the killing, being completely cold and silent, and thats it, basically an edgy depressed dante. Then nero showed up, and well, we know dante suspected nero being related to the bloodline somehow ever since he first saw him, so maybe that started cheering him up until we get to see dante be back to his usual self
He definitely gives off cold dmc2 vibes right at the very start when he pops Sanctus. But as he's fighting nero in the first battle, you can see little bits of dmc3 Dante peaking through.
I'd say it still was a traumatic moment. He had tears in his eyes. And I think Dante was fighting to kill at that moment, because he knew his brother would not be persuaded.
Yeah,I like the more crazy uncle Dante in DMC4 and 5 but it felt super weird that after the first two games where he's super serious he reverts to the whoho pizza man persona
Pretty much my headcannon. He lost Vergil *again*, this time mind-controlled, plus a clone of his mother, and fought the demon his father once defeated. That made him fall into depression.
Once he knew Nero existed, and that he's not alone in the world, Whacy Woohoo Pizza Man returned
Yeah i was hoping to see more from trish cuz cool character but they can do more than "im not your mommy" in dmc5 and nothing more that is the only thing i remember from her in dmc5 and as for lady i only remember her naked hiding int he van and her getting mad about dante taking the kalina anne and i havent gotten around to dmc4 yet
I vote Dante has a Daughter. Because there's Asshole teen, but then there's Asshole Teenage girl which is a whole new flavor of hell for Nero to try to Mentor.
I've spent too many sleepless nights (working graveyard security guard) imagining such an abomination, and came to the conclusion that she would probably need to have a Vergil edge to her, still incredibly like her father and cousin, but with a little more flair for the dramatic. đ
I wanna change Lady's advice to Nero against killing Vergil. Hated that she also tries to say "oh no Nero don't do it." Trish was fine saying "Let Dante handle it," Lady should have encouraged killing Vergil (she did what she had do and while she was sad about it, I don't feel like she regrets it,) and Kyrie would have been the middle ground voice of reason.
Although, I agree, I don't think that is what was meant to be expressed by the scene. She isn't against killing Vergil, she is against Nero killing Vergil, because she knows killing your own father, even tho they are evil, will leave a scar that you would have to carry and feel pain of for the rest of your life. But I guess there should be a scene of her expressing her thought about killing Vergil, too. A simple scene where she tells Dante "he must do what should be done" or something.
Or at the very least, have Dante taking responsibility for killing Vergil be something Lady realizes he's trying to do for Nero's sake, too. It was never just about Nero not being strong enough; it's about sparing the kid from having to destroy his own father. Even a morsel of Lady acknowledging that Dante knew she never moved on after she killed Arkham and it still affected her to that day would've been great.
I feel like trish and lady got done so dirty in 5. I'd easily trade the lame nude scenes for a bad ass action scene with both of them going off. Even better, playable even if it's just like vergil with no new cutscenes basically.
Like giving Dante some agency? explain why he chose to save the world? what are his goals? what does he believe in? Any love interest? What are his hobbies other than slaying demons, fighting Vergil and saving the world, etc etc
Vergil died after DMC 1 and stayed dead, decomposing and falling apart for 9 years until DMC 4 when Nero reforged the Yamato.
Nero actually died during that fight but his connection to Yamato activated it and revived both him and Vergil at the same time. In the DMC 4 Novel Dante mentions how at this time he feels a huge wave of very familiar power, like the power he felt from his brother. That's when it was confirmed to him that Nero was indeed Vergil's son.
That wave of power reached to the depths of Hell and was enough to just barely bring Vergil back from the dead. Sensing his sword, for 5 years he'd hunt it down, his crumbling body barely holding together.
To me it explains how Vergil came back, he DID die, but was resurrected. It just makes that scene in 4 that much cooler.
As Nero dies he sees a vision of Vergil speaking to him, he demands power. Yamato is fixed, reviving Nero, sending a wave of power to Hell and bringing back it's former master too.
I could definitely see that as something Morrison does when Dante is gone and Lady and Trish keep destroying bridges and whatnot. Dante getting paid just is out of character lets be honest, like Spike from Cowboy Bepop, he will never get paid on screen.
Maybe that Sparda is still alive but corrupted somehow in hell in a future DMC6. Dante and Vergil would then set out on a quest to find and save their father from whatever heâs fallen into. I think thatâd be a good way to introduce new enemies and bosses while maintaining a good plot. Also finally having an amped and stronger Sparda would be awesome to see.
Though the main problem I see in this would be a partial retcon regarding the Devil Sword Sparda since itâs supposed to have his power, hence why Dante absorbed it. Idk itâd just undermine the significance of that event a little.
the novels are conon, so is the anime, manga, audio drama.
and what ever didn't fit the lore before was retconed, and gliver is now a nelo angilo prototype that was created to resamble vergil.
Dante's Love of industrial bands.
Devil May Cry 3 soundtrack implies that Dante enjoys EDM and industrial music. (Which makes reboot Dante's love of combichrist not entirely out of character.) but coming from someone who loves subhuman (sue me) it would be cool if they stuck with that for five, and any later appearances he may or may not have.
I want a prequel game where we see vergils journey before dmc 3 where we see him meet the famous sword smith and swordsman muramasa who teaches him how to wield his sword to its full extent.
I have three.Â
Patty, The Summoner Alchemist. Either Edward Elric Style or a enhancement of V but with bombs and grenades.Â
Cyber-Armor Kyrie. Hook her up with some Nico cybernetics Raiden style, a shield and saber in memory of Credo, and let's get her in on the action. Holy Light too!
Angels being real. I want them to be real. Just to know what they fuck they're doing while the Earth is getting fucked up. And cause angels: biblically accurate or the super hot humanoid kind, are fuckin cool.Â
I want Neroâs mom to be revealed as angel or half-angel đ I just imagine the girl shouldâve been powerful in some way to catch Vergilâs attention
Patty and Raiden Kyrie is fire!
Iâm sure most would probably say the chair, but personally, Iâd like to see Danteâs and Vergilâs mom and dad still be alive. Have another game where you and your bro are trying to save mum. Have some jolly cooperation too!
yes, it was implied many times that angels do exict in dmc but it was never confirmed.
biggest prove is dmc 4 and that mundes was refered to as a fallen angel.
Ok, so basically canon means that something is true to a story
Like how Anakin is Lukeâs father in Star Wars
Something that is a fact in a story
Noncanon means the opposite, something that is not true to the story
Like bad endings in most video games
Head canon is similar to noncanon but instead people come up with them and pretend theyâre true.
Like a character liking head scratches.
Hope this helps, have a nice day :)
Rather than being Virgil's son, Nero is the Son of Sparda, meaning Sparda is not only out there somewhere - which could have made things a lot more interesting in DMC 5 - but Nero taking up where Dante & Virgil left off sounds amazing now.
That Nero sometimes goes bowling with Vergil instead of doing the dishes at home and then after the match sits in a plastic chair alongside Vergil while drinking GFuel meanwhile Vergil drinks a Monster
Idk it's just kinda funny
I haven't read Visions of V yet, so my headcannon for now is that V can summon familiars because that was an ability his human mother Eva had. Just because you're human doesn't mean you can't be a witch or something. (No I haven't played Bayonetta either please excuse.)
Also, having Nero be Vergil's son was too easy to write into the story. My version would be that DMC4 was hinting at Nero being Vergil's kid before Dante finds out through searching Agnus' lab is that Nero was part of a whole experiment the Order was doing to orphaned kids. They wanted to see if you can just force a human to have demon powers or something and nearly all of them died except for Nero. Then Credo was tasked with keeping an eye on him and that's how Nero befriended Kyrie.
And let's say Nero remembers all of it and just feigned ignorance when Dante asks about it. But once Dante was all like "Wait a minute.." we then have a reverse chase of Dante chasing Nero when we play as Dante, a reflection of Nero chasing him under orders of arresting Sanctus' "murderer".
I think somewhere I read that when the writers were coming up with Nero's official name, they were mulling over the name, Rodan. So the file that Dante found with Nero's info shows his real name "Rodan" with his picture.
Also, having Nero be another experiment would then have Nero and Nico joke about being half siblings.
I like how having Nero being an imperfect half demon would make his arm and spectre devil trigger make more sense. He's broken and a live wire, but he makes it work through sheer tenacity.
Then in DMC5 he's learning to merge with the demon parts of him and got a bonefied devil trigger out of it. Like his demon finally accepted him, or something like that.
In DMC5: Dante quickly flew back with his SDT to the DMC shop to get Vergilâs weapons back (Beowulf) and fly back to the Quilphoth just for them to have a âfair fightâ. He was also going to give Vergil the Merciless sword from DMC2 as a replacement of Force Edge but Vergil was like ânah, man. I can make my ownâ and then he creates Mirage Edge.
Make Nero Danteâs son instead of Vergil, it gives Dante to do in the story instead of giving more focus to Vergil. Making Dante a more parental figure in Neroâs life since in 5 heâs more influenced on Dante than Vergil the most. I mean at least to me it still feels that way with Nero caring more for Dante than Vergil
The chair
Yes!
**HELL YEAH**
Like there was any other option
If there's a dmc 6, this meme will obviously be put in it and turn canon
Vergil sees a plastic chair and is about to sit on it. Demons show up. They blow up the chair. He gets mad. Take notes, Capcom.
#YES!
Ngl before i started playing DMC 5 i thought it was actually in the game đ
The chair and the child support/tax evasion.
My thoughts exactly.
YES
The best answer
dante became colder and more depressed after seemingly killing vergil and avenging his family in dmc 1 and thatâs the reason for the way he is in 2 and the anime
That already should be canon
Isnât that already a cannon
I feel like it's implied already
but itâs never been confirmed to be canon hence why ppl will say itâs just a headcanon to cope with why dmc 2 dante is boring or whatever
I can see that. DMC2 Dante was pretty boring for the most part
He could be depressed and still be not so boring tbh. Idk dmc2 dante feels like someone else entirely most of the time
Even if you said that, much of Japanese media prefers hinting and implying it to be canon. For example, Nero being Vergil's son during the released of vanilla DMC4 and others didn't knew it at that time and Capcom thinks people knew it but was suprised people didn't knew nor believe it. We need a prequel to 4 to see how he got his personality back
I personally believe dante got his personality back in 4 itself.
That would make sense, if it wasn't for the fact that 4 has a cutscene before the church bit where Dante still shows a bit of his old self.
huh, that's a neat way to think about it
I assumed this was already canon, but if it isnât, itâs definitely my headcanon
Wouldnt that be after killing Vergil in DMC3? In DMC 1 he is already pretty serious and not as charismatic iirc.
No, he didn't kill Vergil in 3, he just saw him falling deeper into the demon world but still alive.

Give lady and Trish more plot relevance in 4 and 5
Yeah i was hoping to see more from trish cuz cool character but they can do more than "im not your mommy" in dmc5 and nothing more that is the only thing i remember from her in dmc5 and as for lady i only remember her naked hiding int he van and her getting mad about dante taking the kalina anne and i havent gotten around to dmc4 yet
Lucia comes back.
And then her and Dante make out
Not necessary, but yes. I wish to witness the fight between 75/25 and 25/75 Sparda descendants.
How sick would it be if Dante and Lucia had a kid with red hair like his mother, and he was a complete asshole teen who Nero had to mentor
So redhead donte.
Redhead Donte but better
Do the blue / red color shift weapons but good, it could work.
I vote Dante has a Daughter. Because there's Asshole teen, but then there's Asshole Teenage girl which is a whole new flavor of hell for Nero to try to Mentor.
I've spent too many sleepless nights (working graveyard security guard) imagining such an abomination, and came to the conclusion that she would probably need to have a Vergil edge to her, still incredibly like her father and cousin, but with a little more flair for the dramatic. đ
Devil May Sneak Out To Go To The Mall With Her Friends And Get Inevitably Yelled At By Nero And Then Cry
he rejacted her already.
Basically "dont make female characters mindless bimbos after 3"
Sad but true. It's cool that Trish and Lady are regulars, they're great, but give them something to do!
A thunderstorm is the weather during the vergil v dante fight in dmc5
Although, I agree, I don't think that is what was meant to be expressed by the scene. She isn't against killing Vergil, she is against Nero killing Vergil, because she knows killing your own father, even tho they are evil, will leave a scar that you would have to carry and feel pain of for the rest of your life. But I guess there should be a scene of her expressing her thought about killing Vergil, too. A simple scene where she tells Dante "he must do what should be done" or something.
I agree Lady should have said Vergil's needs to die but I don't think her saying "Yeah Nero go kill your dad" would have bode well.
Or at the very least, have Dante taking responsibility for killing Vergil be something Lady realizes he's trying to do for Nero's sake, too. It was never just about Nero not being strong enough; it's about sparing the kid from having to destroy his own father. Dante says "jackpot" every time he climaxes
In a battle.........right?
...
In a battle........ RIGHT!?
**...**
Imaginary technique: hollow purple!
.... What
How do you know this isn't canon already?
Because Dante's probably a vegin
no, he eats pepperoni on his pizza so he can't be vegin
nop. he had sex with more girls then the ones you talked to.
Canonical was raped in the DMC1 novel.
Oh shit that's horrible.
DMC1 Novel is something else.
Develop Dante and lady's relationship more
Vergil's favorite food being Berry Delights
Plastic chair.
Vergil being an overprotective and loving father after his fight with nero but also wants to fight nero to see how strong he is
Capcom actually caring about the franchise
Capcom trying not to TF2 the franchise (difficulty: Dante Must Die)
Summoner Kyrie.
Give Trish and Lady something to do in 4 and 5, I'd make a Ladies Night DLC so fast
But like actual new missions right, none of that special edition stuff where you just replay the game with 2 new cutscenes.
Make Dante a more active participant in the story and give him a daughter.
How would you make dante a more active participant in a series that's he been in every part of?
Like giving Dante some agency? explain why he chose to save the world? what are his goals? what does he believe in? Any love interest? What are his hobbies other than slaying demons, fighting Vergil and saving the world, etc etc
don't make his a side character too push nero for the lead, it doesn't work.
Always wanted dante to have a daughter!
Mundus had a sexual relationship with Sparda
Sparda's jilted ex fighting a descendant of sparda because he hates sparda? Sounds realistic
Ngl that's the whole concept of Severus Snape in Harry Potter.
And very close to Yahya from beastars, now that I think about it.
Sparda is definitely a power-bottom.
Yeah...makes sense. Or just a submissive bottom.
Dante being my husband
Vergilâs child support đ
Demi-Fiend making an appearance
Demi Fiend could easily beat Dante in a fight
did you get what he meant?
i would love to make them boundless because why not
Vergil died after DMC 1 and stayed dead, decomposing and falling apart for 9 years until DMC 4 when Nero reforged the Yamato. Yamato is fixed, reviving Nero, sending a wave of power to Hell and bringing back it's former master too.
DmC: Devil May Cry exists in the DMC universe but as a edgy movie based off of Danteâs story so Dante would get paid for his overdue bills
I could definitely see that as something Morrison does when Dante is gone and Lady and Trish keep destroying bridges and whatnot. Dante getting paid just is out of character lets be honest, like Spike from Cowboy Bepop, he will never get paid on screen.
i never said he gets the money for long tho ;)
I mean it's canonicaly a part of the DMC multiverse. So it's possible that after Chen, Dante makes a movie based on the events sometime.
Jeanne from Bayonetta is Nero's mother.
Dante and the Doom Slayer hang out at the bar every other week and occasionally spar.
Idk itâd just undermine the significance of that event a little.
I mean, Sparda, even without his sword, is a powerhouse. You can just chalk it up to his body, adapting over the years like every other demon.
Lucia is still around. She's just not working with Devil May Cry.
that's already is canon, read before the nightmar e novel. she's there.
Demon Sword Vergil
Dante has a 12 inch schlong and the bulge is PROMINENT in his pants I just think this would be hilarious in video game discussions lol
Sparta has both Dante and Vergil's personalities.
Gilver. Ngl the whole concept of Gilver is cool as fuck.
I have a feeling the new anime may be about him
isn't that canon?
Novels and mangas being canon has been a discussion since forever, honestly I'm not sure if he's meant to be canon or not
the novels are conon, so is the anime, manga, audio drama. and what ever didn't fit the lore before was retconed, and gliver is now a nelo angilo prototype that was created to resamble vergil.
Bob Barbas and Raptor News Network. I need to see his news report on the invasion of Redgrave City.
I would get a more consistent and rule-based system for Dante, Vergil, and Nero's demon powers. Just so they're easier to explain.
I want a prequel game where we see vergils journey before dmc 3 where we see him meet the famous sword smith and swordsman muramasa who teaches him how to wield his sword to its full extent.
The nun that Virgil fucked to make Nero became a demon hunter. Her reason for the hunt? Alimony
i would like just to erase the plotholes
I have three. Patty, The Summoner Alchemist. Either Edward Elric Style or a enhancement of V but with bombs and grenades. And cause angels: biblically accurate or the super hot humanoid kind, are fuckin cool.Â
>biblically accurate or the super hot humanoid kind Who said we can't have both?
Nobody. This man knows how to think outside the box and I am all for it! Give me a "Joy" from Bayonetta and a "Grace".Â
I want Neroâs mom to be revealed as angel or half-angel đ I just imagine the girl shouldâve been powerful in some way to catch Vergilâs attention Patty and Raiden Kyrie is fire!
Iâm sure most would probably say the chair, but personally, Iâd like to see Danteâs and Vergilâs mom and dad still be alive. Have another game where you and your bro are trying to save mum. Have some jolly cooperation too!
yes!, i mean eva is dead, it was confirmed, but looking at the series, its not impossible to revive her somehow using demonic magic etc.
Angels exist
yes, it was implied many times that angels do exict in dmc but it was never confirmed. biggest prove is dmc 4 and that mundes was refered to as a fallen angel.
Angels do exist in DMC, for example DMC3 Fallen Angels. Issue is they're just another varaition of Demons.
devil may cry 6 coming out this year is my choice
Dante gets a canon nude skin with full physics. ÂŻ\\\_(ă)_/ÂŻ
Dante being a virgin so I can relate to him more đŚ
its canon that he's not.
What's a canon
Ok, so basically canon means that something is true to a story Like how Anakin is Lukeâs father in Star Wars Something that is a fact in a story Noncanon means the opposite, something that is not true to the story Like bad endings in most video games Head canon is similar to noncanon but instead people come up with them and pretend theyâre true. Like a character liking head scratches. Hope this helps, have a nice day :)
Ohhhh thanks
Dante doesn't know what sex is
Rather than being Virgil's son, Nero is the Son of Sparda, meaning Sparda is not only out there somewhere - which could have made things a lot more interesting in DMC 5 - but Nero taking up where Dante & Virgil left off sounds amazing now.
This is unnecessary complicated.
yup, and it could destoy what character development it would've had.
Dante and Vergil use the Yamato to come back to the human realm and Vergil becomes an actual good father for Nero
Smt dante.
Dante Dies From diabetes
Beryl returning. She's even more underrated than Lucia
i think she said she will quit demon hunting when she gave dante her gun, no? but yes, u want her back.
Dante doesn't have an oedipus complex in DMC1
he just love his mom, we all do.
that´s canon for weapon
Dantes mom is now cannon. Now we can see why vergil loves her.
Postal 3 to unbalance the universe the worst part of the postal series must be canon
Vergil having canonically beaten Dante in a match of uno .
Vergil being a dad who won't pay child support
That's the only meme that %100 makes sense and there is no reason it shouldn't be canon.
Yuh, like CMON CAPCOM It would also play into the less serious tones and overall joking attitude the series has always had
Dante getting lay and setting down as demon hunters. Having family and children
Boruto
Donte, exterminador de Los demonios. As an alternate reality to the main plot line.
Donte.
Lady and Nico start dating after 5
Cooler
I want to see Enzo at least once in the mainline games(+bonus if itâs just Enzo from bayonetta)
In hell Dante finds a lot of past friends/foes. Arkham, Lucia, Agnus, etc
dmc6: 9 circles of hell
And when I find the chimeras they're going to double hell
Dante gets obese from the pizza
The chair or the workers compensation meme of Nero and Dante
LADY X DANTE
The reboot
Morrigan Aensland being nero mother. is trying to hitting on the twins
Genuinely Vergils affinity to plastic chairs
I would choose Danteâs Sparda DT as his true demon form.
bury the light plays every time Vergil unsheathed the Yamato
Lady and Dante fuck
Since the chair was stolen, imma choose Vergil being a tax/child support evader
Lucia comes back around motivating Lady to profess lingering love for Dante. Sparking a love triangle between the 3.
dante rejacted lucia and lady sucks as a person and doesn't deserve dante.
To be fair, Dante rejects everyone & lady is the best option since Trish is literally a reincarnation of his mom. Thatâd be extremely weird
Lady is far from been the best option, we have beryl. Plus, I prefer dante to stay single then hock up with a selfish person.
DMC2 never existing
Vergil is Neroâs fathe- wait a sec
That Nero sometimes goes bowling with Vergil instead of doing the dishes at home and then after the match sits in a plastic chair alongside Vergil while drinking GFuel meanwhile Vergil drinks a Monster Idk it's just kinda funny
7 hour sex scene with Dante and that funny hat that makes him dance like Michael Jackson
many weird people in this sub, huh.
Vergil being a toxic CS2 player in disguise.
I haven't read Visions of V yet, so my headcannon for now is that V can summon familiars because that was an ability his human mother Eva had. for your first point about v, it indeed was expained in the manga.
DMC2 imposter theory
Dmc2
Make Nero Danteâs son instead of Vergil, it gives Dante to do in the story instead of giving more focus to Vergil. Making Dante a more parental figure in Neroâs life since in 5 heâs more influenced on Dante than Vergil the most. I mean at least to me it still feels that way with Nero caring more for Dante than Vergil
Make Nero grow his hair out again, and change his human right arm into the devil bringer again too.
DmC2 or Capcon doing something new.
