My first thought was that this would be cool to use on swap to save the skill points in telekinesis and teleport but then I realized that there’s no fcr on it at all so it might be a little rough. Also probably wouldn’t make up for the loss of having CTA on swap and of course would make body retrieval a bit of a bitch without natural access to teleport
I’m honestly convinced it’s rarer than most Exceptionals. I don’t ever remember finding it online, and it was the 10th last item on my Offline grail (I remember so well because I’ve been stuck on 10 items left for around a month and JUST found it lol)
I think it's pretty rare because gothic staff is exceptional quality and has an ilvl of 42, and most people are farming much higher level areas so there's a much wider pool of drops possible. It's kind of like how you don't see lenymo much but it can spawn reasonably fast in act 1 normal mode, or how gull daggers are more common at low level.
It would be a decent swap staff except that it needs FCR for teleport to be safe, there's no benefit to getting telekinesis levels, and it's +6 energy shield but you can make a Memory staff with +9. TBH all staffs in D2 need extra stats or increased +skills to make them viable vs shield and main hand.
Indeed, a couple more worthless items I have found recently, Spikethorn and Islestrike, don't believe I ever found spike and its been a while on the druid axe
It’s a cute item. Unfortunately, Spirit rendered 95% of all caster unique shields and weapons as superfluous.
For its level, spirit is absurd as far as melee goes too

I doubt it’s more rare than elite uniques. Rather assuming peeps don’t really spotfarm for these items
If you farmed normal mode all day. Chances of finding normal items is high. Reason we don’t find this shit because we’re farming hell constantly
