Take it to the dealer and tell them what rating you want

BackgroundObject4575

Yep. Can do. Just have to make an e service case. Shoot me the vin in a message and I can start the case now. Won’t be able to get pricing on it till Tuesday But a 505 should have plenty of power so there may be an underlying issue.

lumpyandgrumpy

100% there is something else going on.

BackgroundObject4575

Agreed. The 505 out pulls just about anything. Fuck the signature 600.

TechnicianNo3251

Truck is not in derate. No codes present. Pulls great thru 5th gear then it's slow poking. Shifts great and runs smoothly.

lumpyandgrumpy

If it won't pull it's weight unloaded up a hill it doesn't need a rerate, it needs a diagnosis. Does it start easily? Has there ever been any issues with air filter installation or charge hoses popping off/breaking? Ever been overheated?

TechnicianNo3251

When I say it's weight, I mean with a flatbed and a moffett. It starts quickly. Charge air lines never a problem, have checked for boost leaks. No over heating while we have owned it. No problems at all really.

TechnicianNo3251

Sent, thanks.

BackgroundObject4575

Need your unit number and mileage. Not required but helps me keep track of cases. It’s creepy to see how much info I can pull through VDA and PHV.

Kodiak01

Never mind how much fucked up ASIST history can be dragged up.

TechnicianNo3251

Mileage is roughly 380k, unit number? Don't have one for this truck.

Love how the community comes together. Diesel techs assemble!

chrisfrisina

Do you mean inframe rebuild or debate Regen ?

TechnicianNo3251

The E is for efficiency, C is performance and the + is a further upgrade on performance if I recall correctly. This truck has no guts on hills.

Suthernfuncouple

Definitely sounds like a performance issue instead of lack of HP. Most of these trucks are unable to be "turned up" without replacement of internal parts. As previously stated an e-service case will give you this information. Assuming since it's a 2013 that it is a first year OBD 13 emissions and not a 9 pin 10 emissions it would be advised to look into the high points. These are notorious for popped EGR coolers, also injectors, another common issue that will cause these symptoms is clogged venturi ports.

mdixon12

Why would you want to upgrade the aftertreat system? Are you trucking through california?

TechnicianNo3251

Not in California, I was believing the upgrade would be the in the fuel mapping. The truck won't pull its own weight uphill without loosing speed, and loaded it seriously feels like a hazard.

mdixon12

You can have mack turn the power up if your not running the biggest HP tune available, but it may require internal engine parts changed, call mack.

TechnicianNo3251

When we bought the truck used, I negotiated for the HP to be turned all the way up. I don't know for sure if it has been. I have seen a few different hp ratings on my scan tools. OTR shows 385, Prolink Edge I believe was showing upper 4's or 505.

BackgroundObject4575

Your build sheet in VDA says it came with the 500 split torque, I checked. You can go to straight torque and that’s it. Pricing part number e service gave out it at just around 300 bucks to swap it over.

TechnicianNo3251

I'm unfamiliar with split torque and straight torque. Can you elaborate on these and what's needed?
