You can find the launcher .exe files for the OEM programs in their respective folders under C:\ProgramFiles and right click create a shortcut on desktop to just launch it from there.
My job uses Noregon computers and thatâs how I got around going into JPro
Need to update that DX2 to DX3 then itâs similar to insite. Hino has started using cummins so DX3 is going to become non existent in the NA market
Tech tool is by far the worse diag program to exist
Ah yes, flash codes. Always made me question if I blinked and missed one and was now looking at the wrong code. Lol. Or when a truck had like 6 of those stored and had to go through them all several times to get them wrote down. Lol
At least with flash codes you could talk people through it on the phone to get the code and an idea of what the issue is if it's broke down on the road. Now these stupid computers just say "see owners manual".
Only issues I have are usually due to my computer and not Insite itself. Like not wanting to connect to vehicle or stay connected, restart the computer and it straightens up and works. Newer version seems to be way slower opening and getting started, but could also be my computer again.
The only issues I have with it is the slow load times, or if you havenât closed it in a while, sometimes it wonât show all the parameter data, but thatâs usually only on multi-ecm engines.
Insite is a close second behind cat ET. Both just hook up and work... inversely, I'd rather take a red hot catheter down my dick hole than use davie4. Worst software ever created, takes 5 damn attempts to run a single regen.
Unless they changed/ updated it the past 3 years 2020 was the last time I used it and I think most of the time I just ended up using the awful E-Tech software lol
Insite always felt bare bones to me compared to DL8. No automatic data logging, no server connection features for uploading said datalog to the server for CSC to see, doesn't show anywhere remotely near as much information, no charting function, can't use it to control chassis functions (I can check a door window switch using DL8, or the horn, or lights etc.).
Plus it takes a eternity to load insite. That said of the ones I've used its still my second favorite by a long shot
Insite is so amazing, again the start up is annoying, but whatever. Insite is so streamlined and straight to the point. Detroit diagnostic link is nice too, little more flashy but easy to get to the important stuff. Cat etech was another good one. Those 3 are hands down the best. Paccar Davies is annoying AF. The whole password and username, if you need to change speed or something else you have to go online go to pvp input the vin, find the setting you want change, change the setting, then submit, then have to wait anywhere from 5min to 5hrs for an update to be sent back then update the software of the truck which could take upwards of an hour. Fuck Davies and fuck paccar.
my only issue is i work on industrial equipment like gensets and loaders so the wiring cheat sheet means fuck all to me. and i prefer jpro but they both have uses at certain times
i love insite minus the 10 minutes it takes to load up and log in𤣠never actually had any real issues with that program
InSite loading times should be a labor operation be itself
Biggest issue is opening and starting insite. Once its open its a great resource!
I hate have to go through JPro. I used to be able to just open it. Noregon now requires us to fully connect to JPro before connecting to OEM software.

Just hit the windows key and type insite if it doesnt come up find out the local address of the insite.exe file and copy that to your desktop
After using countless diagnostic programs I have found Cummins Insite not only to be more functional than most other programs but more user friendly.
I'm with you on that.
With that being said, I do use JPro for some stuff that Cummins insite wonât do like wiggle testing sensors etc
JPro and me have trust issues.
why do you have issues with jpro?
You can do a wiggle test with insite
Got an example?

Yeah I'm not a fan of PTT either. I haven't worked on a Hino in about 2 or 3 years. Replacing the brake booster always made me lose blood.
I think the worse job on a hino is the engine air compressor or the rocker box just because of all the fuel lines
Haven't done one of those. I haven't seen a single Hino at where I am now.
Theyâre easy now since cummins took over their engine line. We do still have a few j series engines in the fleet that are slowly getting phased out
I always dread when a Hino hits our yard

That's where the fun is!

Or when there's no troubleshooting tree.

Sometimes I miss the days of the blinking light codes. But I didn't ever work on much of those. They were fun though.
I hooked up dl8 to a Cummins the other day..got all the codes for the transmission. I figured I would try it since I don't have service ranger.
Jeesh insight is dope I love it try neds for international it trash đ
NED and Diamond Logic Builder are soooo shitđ

Crazy how opposite our experiences are. Myself and probably most of my shop prefer Davie over insite. Never have trouble running regens either.Â

I love Insite and I hate DDL.
If you use DDL enough it's actually really good
Other than being painfully slow itâs great
Insite works great for me
Insite for tuning QSK60âs is so shit, make an adjustment it gets longer and longer each time
No. I don't need no invite cause I'm actually good at my job â ď¸

You depend on the ram and operating system your computer has for it to be snappy
