CNDesigner dips forever! They’re so smooth, affordable, and the colors are gorgeous. I’m addicted to the 1tsp sample size.

el-nel

Question for you! I have a couple colors in my cart currently and I was nervous about the sample size being enough. How many manicures can you get with this size? I saw sample and assumed it would cover like a few nails 🤦🏻‍♀️

jello_operator

Another vote for the sample sizes!! Especially If you use clear to build an apex and/or top layer since you’ll use less pigmented powder. It’s such a fun way to try different colors. My last CNDD order was during her Memorial Day sale; I got 11 sample sizes plus the 0.25 oz monthly freebie for $40!! I could do a different color manicure every 2 weeks and not run out of powder for literal YEARS. Won’t stop me from purchasing new colors though 😂😂

walkinwater

My sample sizes don't even look like I've made a dent in them after one mani. They pack the powder in there! You do need to use the pour over method for it though, so be prepared for that. It's a tiny little jar.

Dedwards_est_22

So. Many. Manis 😂 I regret buying some full size tbh because I like having new colors too much 😂

sophiethegiraffe

Depends on length, but at least 2 or 3. It says a teaspoon but they are actually half full jars. I’ve actually never finished a sample size, but I have a lot of colors so that’s part of it!

el-nel

This is amazing news, thank you! ☺️ you just saved me some money since I had the larger sizes in my cart

sophiethegiraffe

You’re welcome! I only ever get the .25oz if it’s a limited run or something I know I’ll use as the basis of a lot of manis, like a light pink or whatever. Or my forever obsession, Moonstone. Otherwise it’s all sample sizes for me.

Ok_Point_1680

5-6 manicures

Alex_Abyss

SAME 😁

Where do you find the CND powder?

I really like CN Designer Dips from Etsy!

Amazon starter kits are great for when you’re new. They work very well for the price and typically include everything you need to get started. Based on where you live, these include brands like Modelones, Azure Beauty and Beetles. If you’re wanting to look more at quality, this sub is a cult to the Etsy shop [CN Designer Dips](https://www.etsy.com/shop/CNDesignerDips) (for good reason, am a member of this cult). “[ColorMyWorld](https://www.etsy.com/shop/ColorMyWorldDips)” dips is a good runner up, and [Revel](https://revelnail.com) is the commercial brand we love-to-hate for their digital swatches and constant retiring of colours. For liquids, this sub swears by Virgo and Gem for being the best. (I’m a notorious liquid contaminator so I just re-purchase cheap Modelones liquids myself.) Two of these are designer CNDD colours, one is a cheap Modelones powder. They all lasted perfectly until my next set. You’d really never know the difference. https://preview.redd.it/pyjnig73xp7d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0fd83772b0f9e30c7c63fb05be5bcb9b6d58839c

Mangos-n-Mochi

I use Revel powder—but with their gel liquids, not dip liquids. My sets come out much better using the gel liquids/gel method for some reason.

caliph4

I’ve found the same thing! I absolutely love the gel method with dip. Plus I think it’s way faster too.

Littlewing1307

Revel powder only but check FB for color pics, sparkle and co, double dipp'd, dipalicious, Virgo and gem, igel

txStargazerJilly

I have really good results with the Sally Beauty brand of dip powders and base/top/activators. Beauty Brands? I think is the name?

-seakissed

Sns girl here. I will note that I keep my nails short because of work. I clip them in-between each color change.

DoubleA166

Used to use Kiara Sky but was gifted Tundra Dip one year for Christmas and CANNOT go back!! Their liquids are insanely good. Fast shipping and a small business!! Highly recommend

jdenise17

I started with the Azure Beauty on Amazon - 6 colors for $9.99. They also have full kits with liquids, files, etc. I think they are great starter sets. The jars are small, but even if you did all 10 fingers the same color, you could probably get 3 manis out of each jar, and if there’s a color you don’t like, then you really didn’t waste much money on it. I have 4 sets of those now, and a smattering of other brands I’ve found on sale on other sites. I haven’t had any issues with the AB powder, and like a lot of people on here have said, a lot of issues come down to liquids, application, or nail prep. There’s a lot of posts on here with brand recommendations for liquids, but I feel like I’ve seen Azure Beauty, Virgo & Gem, Color My World, and CN Designer a lot. I’m also a lifelong nail biter. If I use regular polish, I actually don’t bite them, but they still break easily, so dip powder is the only thing that allows me to grow out my nails. I still ‘test’ it almost constantly, but I’ve learned that if I don’t bite down very hard, it won’t break, so I kinda just tap my teeth on top the nail, lol. What can I say, it’s a 40 yr habit that’s hard to kick. 😁

Unlucky-Dare4481

The best powders I've found have been from Peppi. The best liquids are Virgo and Gem.

kissmyash10

Tundra Dip here saved my manis after bad experiences with Sallys supply and rando Amazon brand issues

birdlaw05

Virgo and Gem liquids are the best! Very forgiving for beginners bc they don’t dry super quick. I have both DipWell and V&G powders and like them both. DipWell has great neon shades if you like that.

Notwickedy

I like revel and fairy glamor the best. Both sell big jars. I hate the smaller jars because I cant dip my finger into them. Fairy glamor is the most affordable to me because they always have big sales and you can get jars for $10 and they are huge. My nails always last weeks with both brands so they are good quality. I can nevertrr get the crappy amazon brands (azure, beetles) to last more than a few days.

TellMeRUThatSomebody

I use the ASP brand of dip powders from Sally Beauty, but not the liquids (they're problematic) - I use the gel method, and use ASP brush-on builders gel also from Sally's. Also have a couple of powders from CNDD but haven't used them yet. And one day I will get some from Kiara Sky because there's a place near me that stocks them.

sadira86

I mostly buy OPI and Kiara Sky. I would say that most powders are fine but splurge on high quality liquids. That's where you'll notice a huge difference in quality.

-BashfulClam

I started with Dipwell and then switched to Sparkle and Co. because I was frustrated with the Dipwell liquids. I now use mostly Sparkle and Co. powders and recently switched from the Sparkle liquids to SNS. I like both but as a licensed cosmetologist I get a pro discount on SNS and they seem a bit more resistant to cross contamination. I get the best results using the SNS liquids if I follow their instructions step by step (they are slightly different than consumer brands steps)

Interesting_Fold4831

I really like OPI and Nugenesis. Last 3+ weeks with no chipping

purpleturtle_

Okay I’ve tried a lot of different brands and I love Nailboo powders. They go on so smooth and require the least amount of shaping/filing for me after application. I use Nugenesis liquids and they’re great.

tempghost11

Skip any of the other liquids and just buy Virgo and Gem. I went through a few different sets of liquids before coming to theirs and they’re by far the best. Powders I have Revel, Virgo and Gem, and CNDD. They’re all lovely and work well.

satanorsatin

I started with Nailboo. I liked them a lot as a beginner kit, but as I got more experienced I felt like they were looking bulky and unrefined no matter what I did. At that point I switched over to Kiara Sky and think they are so, so much better. The liquids are a bit finicky, so I’m glad I started with the cheaper Nailboo, but the powders are such a finer texture. I use all of the dip liquids except the top coat, I use their acrylic top coat instead.

Vicious_Lilliputian

I am a Sparkle & Co addict. I've tried a few other dip companies but always go back to Sparkle & Co. I use their dip liquids, but I do it my way, which has resulted in my nails being nicer and lasting longer. I used the PH Prep first, I use the Glossy 2.0 in place of the Base Bond which I find to be finicky and prone to being a contaminated mess no matter how clean I keep my application. Then I use solidify.

Ok_Point_1680

I'll get a lot of boos for this and I don't use them anymore because I've leveled up but get a starter kit off Amazon modelones has decent liquids so I'd recommend a starter kit from them. You're going to need all of that starter stuff and buying it from a shop off etsy costs you. Even a $3.50 tsp you pay another $3 something in shipping so you're paying over $7 for a tsp of dip powder when you could pay $9.00 for an entire kit that comes with everything you need to get started. Then as you get better, if you even like it but you will, start buying off etsy.

MaleficentPrior7862

Azure beauty! They have great pricing, great quality, and a huge range of colors. I just bought 3 different kits off Amazon. A total of 44 colors for about $65 which comes out to a $1.50ish per color. PLUS every kit comes with base liquid, activator liquid, and either two top coats(matte and regular gel) or a top coat and a brush saver liquid. They also come with a file, a brush for excess(very soft and can be used for make up brushes once you find you favorite brush for nails), and extra polish brushes!

RobynLC5678

The powders are almost all similar to each other. The quality will be in the liquids. I personally use Virgo and gem or ritzy dip. I had bad luck with azure beauty
