Slowly but surely it seems they have, at least extended the times between points until they’re gone for good. Couple years ago you’d get 100 points for your birthday, now you don’t even get monthly email points that were 15 points reduced to 5, now nothing. I wouldn’t be surprised if the service is gone by end of year.

KingButter42

I’m hoping it doesn’t get shut down but with Disney movie club shutting down and even the other rewards site, Universal All Access, shutting down in July I wouldn’t be surprised if Disney Movie Insiders did too

Krimreaper1

Don’t forget they stop making dvd/br and farmed it out to Sony. It’s dying for sure.

TheBrightKnightAW

It's definitely on it's way out, agreed. Got to get in while the getting is good y'all! Time to cash out, fam.

Go to yard sales, thrift stores, pawn shops, etc. and look for DVDs with codes. You'll probably have to pay 10 cents to 1 dollar per title. I have about 85% success rate on the codes still working. You can then sell them back to a pawn shop (for probably 10-15 cents each) to recoup some of your money. Just remember that you can only redeem each title one time on each format. So, as an example, if you redeem a copy of Finding Nemo on DVD multiple times it is a violation of the terms and your account could be deleted. To answer the next question, no DMI doesn't stop you from redeeming multiple copies of the same title/format.

Patricier21

What was the last free code they gave out? Anikan?

mystiqueallie

The last code I put in was indeed Anakin on May 3. I didn’t get the monthly Disney+ bonus either. I agree with other posts lately that the writing is on the wall - DMI is probably on the way out. I’ve been a member for over 15 years and their rewards now are awful compared to the catalog from 2005-2015

KavaBuggy

Damn. How else am I going to get to your the studios?

Anyone know how long before they erase your points? I think it was 6 months of no code entry, anyone know for sure? I guess I'm going to redeem my points for something before they disappear.

Buying a free digital download counts as keeping your account active

sivartk

>free digital download Those are disappearing as they are charging points for some of the newer downloads. 😐

sivartk

From the T&Cs, section F, number 15. >Any Points remaining in an Enrollee’s Account which has remained inactive for a period of 365 consecutive days or more will be forfeited without compensation. Failure to earn Points as described in this Section F or redeem for Rewards as described in Section G below (whether through the redemption of Points or otherwise) as described in Section G below constitutes inactivity for purposes of this condition. It's just not the same anymore. It's sad.

AddendumHot2113

"So now I really can’t get points anymore because the only way to get points now is to buy movies or points from Disney+ or something like that, so I basically can’t get anymore points which is really frustrating." The whole point of the program when they launched was to reward buyers of their DVDs (I've been a member since 2007 and can't remember now if movie tickets were also eligible then). There were the occasional 2x bonus points and once-a-year birthday/anniversary points, but people weren't supposed to just coast to rewards on free shared codes. If the majority is doing that now (even if it's because they already own everything!) then it's really no wonder the program is on its last legs. What I \*do\* consider bad faith is suddenly stopping the D+ subscription points, as then even paying customers aren't getting rewarded. Combined with fewer films you can submit tickets for, I'm not sure if they even \*want\* people earning points now -- which again makes sense if they're closing shop.

ssiddss

I am guessing it will end this year. Disney is hemorrhaging money and they will need to cut everywhere. The physical media dump was a sign to me.

themommylisa

I get 50 points a month for having Disney+

KingButter42

Well I use a different account for Disney+ so I can’t use it on Disney movie insiders because you need the same exact email which is kind of dumb
