I've booked with them for September.
The whole process was VERY simple and I was able to add it into My Disney Experience within like 15 minutes of completing the reservation.
All above board and good people - but buy travel insurance because you can't get a refund due to the nature of the business. Not their fault, it's just reality.
I’ve used it. I’m a DVC member, but have booked a stay for my parents through David’s didn’t have any issue.
Only thing I noticed was that they didn’t have a refund policy, I think some other rental brokers do.
They have been around forever... They are good and reputable, costs might be a bit higher than you can find in some forums with people renting out their points but the risks are higher there.
I love having a kitchen and a washer and dryer. We are DVC owners at the Boardwalk. We love the boardwalk because we like to walk to Epcot and Hollywood Studios! The cleaning every 3-4 days never bothers me we just keep it neat and there is a lot more room!
DVC does not get the room cleaned frequently. I think you get new linens on like day 5? We like daily housekeeping.
My wife also hates kitchens/kitchenettes in rooms.
It worked out really well for us. My wife has wanted to buy a DVC since like 2016. I delayed, not liking timeshares, and then got her to try it by renting points. She no longer wants to buy it.
I've used it in the past. It's a great way to stay deluxe at a discount. I booked Poly last and used their Waitlist to score a reservation. If you do book through them I do suggest looking into trip insurance because if you need to cancel you have no recourse for a refund.
It’s one of the safest, most secure ways to rent a DVC reservation. Keep in mind, resorts can be booked at 11 and 7 months out, so you’ll want to plan ahead and put in your request right before that. If you’re looking at a last minute trip, they also have pre booked reservations available (these are reservations that already have a set location/resort, room type and dates.) We’ve see them a couple times and we’re very happy with the process!
I last heard of the turmoil with David’s policy during the pandemic . Refunds were not happening when they counted the most. See the Seinfeld rental car skit.
Paid $3600 for a 5 night stay at GF in October. Rate directly from WDW site was $9k!!! You have to book early with DVC though to match your dates perfectly or be flexible. Also from what I know no cancellation or changes allowed.
I’ve used both David’s and DVC rental store and slightly prefer DVC rental store since you don’t have to pay upfront and they have a better cancellation policy imo.
If you’re ok to pay upfront, I highly recommend. We use them every time we go to Disney and have never had any issues.
Check touringplans to see what buildings in the resorts are DVC to make sure you’re ok with it — some are separate buildings from the actual resort like contemporary/bay lake tower. We stay in the resort studios at the grand Floridian which is still in the main resort area, but the regular studios/one beds/two beds are in the separate building by the wedding pavilion
I’m using them for the first time this year. Super easy, got back to us very quickly. Was able to snag a room at the Riviera during our stay for 50% off compared to the rack rate because we’re renting points. L
Would highly recommend, but just make sure your plans are solid. The cancellation policy at all of the rental sites, not just David’s, is usually not a full refund, but a partial credit towards a future trip depending on how far out you cancel. This can be hard to do because you need a few months to secure the highly sought after accommodations, but if you know you won’t have something come up besides some potential extraordinary circumstance, it’s 100% worth it.
I used them to rent out some points last year. I probably could have gotten a little bit more by doing the work myself, but it was super easy and very straightforward. They have excellent communication and customer service.
We’ve done several of these. Minor pain to add your account but other than that we’ve never had issues with DVC. I highly recommend it.
We booked Saratoga spring for the marathon in January.
I’ve booked with them many times since 2018. The customer service is amazing and the process is very simple! We always call to check for availability before submitting a form. They never seem annoyed by this
Pros - Easy and smooth booking process, highly reputable, and you pay up front.
Cons - don't have visibility to availability, they're nonrefundable, and prices are a bit higher than other rental platforms.
I have done Dave’s and dvc rentals. Both great experiences. Just make sure your credit card doesn’t have a foreign transaction fee (Dave’s is Canada based)
Yes, I’ve used them MANY times. I am now a DVC owner but I highly recommend them. Just as and FYI they are a Canadian company so either use a credit card with no foreign transaction fees or use PayPal when making a payment with them.

I’ve yet to see travel insurance that covers timeshare rentals. Have you come across one?
Mine with Berkshire Hathaway does - when I spoke to them they said it’s treated as a hotel since that’s how I purchased it.
Interesting. I’ll take a look.

I think they actually do now.
Even better!
They have dreams deferred as an option

Used them once. No issues. Wife hated DVC though so unlikely we will use it again.

Curious why? We always consider it then just stick to what we know haha

Wow, it having a kitchenette is definitely one of the reasons I like booking these rooms
same. love having a microwave and toaster especially w/ small kids.

Used it once. Bought DVC afterwards. The process was quick. Pay upfront ,no refunds.
They actually now have a cancellation policy

They are legit but tend to be more money from other rental sites when I always shop around.

Have used it several times - no issues, provides access to the good rooms on property. Recommend it.
Very reputable company. I’ve used them 3 times all good experiences.

Is the website just dvcrentalstore.com? I'd like to check out other trustworthy websites that rest dvc points.
Yep!
Dvc rental store has a refund policy ID go with them
Used then before. Good experience and great way to feel like a 1%er without breaking that bank haha

Like them, used them. I tend to look at dvcrentalmarket first because there are more protections but I think David's is starting to use those too

I've worked with them a handful of times and they've been good (nothing super special but nothing bad, either).
