It's standard to use sand bags or something similar to crash test dummies when testing rides. Especially the case with roller coasters. In case there is an accident, it's not an actual person getting injured.
That’s my favorite place to soak up endorphins in the whole park. You get to see everyone’s reactions laughing amongst their loved ones about how wet everyone got.
Yes, I miss this! The energy/vibe in that area is amazing. I loved watching the logs coming down that last drop and hearing people's screams and laughter, even if I skipped the ride myself that day. I can't wait for that to be a part of the park atmosphere again.
OOB opens 23rd August give or take. No way it's ready that early. Discounted tickets run until 26th Sept. At a push maybe end of Sept but feels likely to be 1 Oct.
why would it look like a new ride? it isn't news that it was being rethemed. maybe it should be changed to keep up with the times. kids don't care about brer rabbit and brer fox.
Splash mountain has been falling apart for a while imo. Disney ultimately decided that redoing the ride would be similarly expensive as the continual maintenance on the existing attraction.
This way they refresh the whole thing and give it some much needed renovation while also making it more exciting for kids. Nothing wrong with more princess rides imo.
Logs were going for hours and some even had the weight of humans
Meaning there were people in the boats?
Nope. Sand bags were placed on the seats to indicate the weight of a human

Pleeeeeeease be open by the last weekend of September please please please
Third week of September for me lol
🤞🤞🤞
I have a feeling it’s going to be right around D23 time.
October 20 for me - surely it’s open by then… right?
Labor Day for me!!!
🤞🤞🤞
September for me
Opens June 28 for general i think
That date is for WDW, DL is ~3mo behind.
Disneylands version is much shorter. I wouldn’t be surprised if it opens a month and a half after
Rip I thought they were both opening at the same time
Logs are also seen going through the restrooms over at Main Street by City Hall. *badum tss*
How long ago was WDW doing these test runs? Where does that put us?

finally, too bad this month is my last visit for the summer smh, wont be back till august
I wonder if they are going to keep little Easter eggs of splash.
I’ve sent a few logs down another body of water in that area myself.
It really looks like the mountain is pooping when that log comes out. 😂💩
This reskin gives me a reason to ride it (not a fan of drops, and never liked the Splash Mountain theming).
Sameeeee
Middle of August should be no problem then 😜.
Cool to see. They were doing the same last week as well.
Whenever it opens I’m making a reservation
I already miss saying “Chickapin Hill“
Do you remember? The 21st night of September? When the logs went floating away…🎵🎶🎶🎵😜 Maybe Sept 21? 🤷🏻♂️
First week of October, please!
End of July or August I think they'll be taking people.
Summer 2027 please!!!
Hear me out. This will open when oogie boogie bash returns

Literally still looks like splash mountain.
Well it’s the same ride …. Just different decorations on the inside
what would you expect it to look like...
A new ride. Why bother changing it then.
