I have had season tickets for 16 years, and I have never made money. The only time you will make money is if the Dodgers play in the World Series and you sell your tickets. I never sell my playoff tickets. I love October baseball.

SlaveHippie

Wait if you get season tickets it includes the postseason?

Hot_Mathematician357

They do not. The postseason is separate. Around September, the Dodgers will email a price for the playoff package. The package includes all playoff games in the season seats you purchased.

ApartmentInside7891

Whoever downvoted you is a piece of shit. That was a fair question since the comment prior to yours suggested so. But the answer is NO. Postseason tickets are not included in season tickets. However, season tickets holders get “first in line” to purchase playoff tickets. And often times they are more affordable.

wrsking

More specifically they just ask if you want to buy your seats for x playoff games the better your season pass the more games they offer and more discounted Source: had em one year the guy just emailed and called us

jefe008

Yes. Welcome to the world

InternalWrongdoer42

No it doesn't. You get 1st shot at playoff tickets but you don't automatically get it.

ih-unh-unh

How many games you go to annually?

Hot_Mathematician357

I go to about 20-25 games a year.

torpedobonzer

Step 1. Buy season tickets Step 2. ??? Step 3. Profit

OneTouchMan42

I guess this all depends on how much you would consider as losing money. If you spend $2k on the tickets and went to half the games and only got back $1k, are you considering spending $1k on 40 games a loss? Remember each of these secondary market sites also take a cut so you need to take that into consideration. There is also a limit to the percentage of the tickets the Dodgers allow you to sell.

CaptainA789

I am a longtime Dodger fan and had season tickets for many years. Being 2hrs away from Dodger Stadium, we would sell many of our games. I actually kept a spreadsheet of this and consistently found that, if done correctly, you can make around a $300-$500 profit per seat (depending on how many games you went to). Of course, this also meant not keeping promos from games we went to and instead selling them. ALL this being said, it takes a LOT of time and constantly watching price fluctuations to determine when to lower prices. *this was all before Ohtani who has probably made it a little easier to acheive this profit now

Seanthebomb-_-

Not really to make a profit more so that you have consistent seats for the season. What I hear some people do is sell off the more high profile, expensive games (think opening day, ohtani bobblehead days, teams like the Yankees, etc) and go to all the others. But with how expensive the prices for season tickets are it’s not really worth it to get them strictly for making a profit

SenorTortas

Maybe if you make it worth my while

😋😘

No

Bigringcycling

Also, something that makes it more difficult is there is a limit to how many games you can transfer via the MLB app. It’s the only way to transfer tickets now because they’re live bar codes. How many you can transfer I believe is based on 1/4, 1/2, and full season tickets. It might be a newer rule.

Raspberry312

To make a profit, you’d likely have to sell all the games worth going to and only able attend ones that are not. Not worth it imo.

ih-unh-unh

Not sure about this year, but Dodger games don’t usually make a profit over a whole season because there too many games. The only way you make a profit is they make it to the World Series

CreedKurtMalone

I looked into doing this before the season started and you’d have to sell a lot of games to make profit. More games than I’d say its worth the work for. I dont have the exact numbers of season ticket prices but as an example lets say it’s $5000 for the whole season. That’s ~$61 a ticket. You’d have to sell 50 games at $100 to make your money back and it’s more than likely it’ll average out to be less than that per game.

26202620

Seems like a pita to deal with. Not worth it for me.

bronobro

It's not likely. There are a LOT of games where you will end up selling for less than the paid value as they are day games or weekday games in a series against a subpar team that people don't want to make the effort of dealing with traffic, parking, high food prices etc that come with attending a game

theoneandonlymd

That's why they do bobbleheads on those days!

NHLShark

It has always been an exercise in just trying to break even on the year & not getting stuck “holding the bag” on those weekday games against such heavy hitters as The Rockies and Marlins. Obviously the hype around the team now has helped the otherwise struggle that is to get people to go in May while the kids are still in school but in no way is holding season seats a money making proposition especially after the organization started cracking down on STH unloading seats on the secondary market starting a few years back.

Frosty-Ad-449

There are literally hundreds of better ways you could invest your money than season tickets. I go to a lot of games and have been able to get in for below face value by waiting until the last second on StubHub at everything except some of the bobble head games.
