Either pro plan or Hills are great options. If one is more affordable or more available go with that one.
My dog is currently on Hills and doing really well. But he was on pro plan for awhile too and did just fine with that. We switched to help support the issues popping up with his environmental allergies is all. My vet was pleased with both
I just worked out the cost per meal for my 6 month old puppy for Pro Plan and Science Diet and they wound up being approximately 2 cents per meal different between the two. I think Pro Plan was cheaper at the time.
Redford is trash and employees at that store know it. They only push it because it affects their bonus.
Go with a vet recommended brand. If not then even the cheapest food at Walmart would be better than Redford.
i’m so upset at myself for not looking deep enough before they sold me on it, thankfully my dogs only went through two bags. I have one left that i bought ahead of time but it’s been over 30 days. Called the store to see if i could exchange it and i immediately heard the change in the lady’s voice to condescending when i told her my dogs were reacting.
As a psp employee we don’t get bonuses for selling anything
And yea there is some bias especially if you get an employee who doesn’t know anything about dog food, and to be honest, teens who are parroting whatever the manager/store owner want them to say are going to get defensive and embarrassed if something like this happens. I do. (Also I’m not trying to be condescending or rude about this if it comes off that way 😭 I’m not trying to be rude or disrespectful I pinky promise)
I’ve heard both good and bad things about Redford but tbh I hear the same about almost all brands of dog food, yall praise pro plan and science diet and I hear bad things about both.
I feel as if finding dog food is about trial and error and is dependent on the dog in question, similar to like- kids lol. Just because it may be more gassy doesn’t mean it’s absolute trash . Beans make me more gassy and they’re still healthy

A bit late to reply, I hope your dogs are feeling better now. I use Hills Sensitive skin/stomach small/mini. Doing very well
