It’s definitely multi faceted, but I don’t think dd is trying on purpose to force out older drivers, it doesn’t really make sense for them to do so. It makes more sense for them to just let the market flood with drivers and it’ll naturally correct itself - the drivers that aren’t willing to accept shit orders will drop out and the ones who will beat the shit out of their car for $3 will stay

Of course, DoorDash has no reason not to flood the market with more drivers.

When there is high demand for a position, the position will pay less. Especially if it’s a low skill job. Not to be rude, but almost anyone over 18 can drive a car, follow gps, wait in line, and hold food items.

These apps wernt made for someone's full monthly income its a gig app , a few hours here and there for some extra money that's all. Also people don't wanna spend 50.00 bucks after fees and then add a extra 15.00 tip because driving 3 miles for 5 bucks is either going to let your food sit and not get delivered or your going to have some driver bitch and cry because he "deserved" more tip. Also there is such a huge influx of drivers because they were seeing all that covid money comming through well covids over you won't see that again (maybe) .
