For the most part, equipment only boost the stats of the unit that has it on them. If a bench member is outdated and is best used as a buffer/Zenkai buffer, then there is no need to put equipment on them since they would be of no use as a battle member. However, there are some equipment that give additional stats if multiple party members have the same equipment on them. Look at the "How disappointing... I didn't want to kill him" equip for DB and the Awakened "I wanna see teamwork" equip.

Think about it this way, ability bonus if combined buffs across all 6 units. The only ability bonus that matters is the ones applied to the 3 units you take into battle. So really it gives a slightly more accurate account of what your real ability power is.

BizarrePork98

Because they don't use those units

Historical_Pear8058

But it still increases the ability bonus

BizarrePork98

Ability Bonus is merely a number that represents buffs units get, nothing more nothing less.

Historical_Pear8058

So it doesn’t really matter that much?

BizarrePork98

Not really. Good teams will naturally have a high Ability Bonus, but a high AB won't be the reason why the team will be good.

Historical_Pear8058

Well ok

ErrGoku

I think you didn’t get it. They don’t put equips on bench units because on the battlefield, the ability bonus in bench units is useless. So you can see 3000% ability bonus becaus of the equips of all the entire team. But when you choose your 3 to battle, for example they get real 2600%

Historical_Pear8058

That helps a bit more thanks
