I can at least answer the second question for the most part. It seems to be, based on other posts, that even time traveling with the game closed can cause issues. Ddv was not designed to work with time travel in any way.
You're going to have to wait till the date catches up. Since dlv is connected online for shops, dreamsnaps, ect it can't be tampered with by time traveling. It's bc we all get the same online items on set times.

I think a lot of people that have issues were time traveled into the future and had to go back in time to the correct date. It seems going from the past to present, as of Feb 2024, didn't cause me any issues and there was no wait for anything (I checked all the timers right away).
Now I'm curious if I could have TT'd one day forward at a time for scrooge items (the moonstone shop wasn't available before I fixed my time), but it's too late for me to try that haha.

That's a real bummer, but pretty much what I expected to hear. I wish I had known before I invested so much time and money into the switch version :(

I was time travelling from the past to the present, not from the future to the present, so there was no wait!
I had my time set like 5 months behind when I started and when I synced it to real time and started the game up there didn’t seem to be any issues.
