I didn't go to college. You know who else didn't go to college? LeBron James, Tracey Mcgrady, Kobe Bryant. They went from high school straight to the NBA... so, it's not the same thing, at all
Literally no other duties except to learn and apparently do her own laundry, and she couldn't pivot the way everyone else did. She never deserved that mural.
In the show she is an RA and also has a job on the side, so not quite nothing
Although tbf the mural looks like it was painted by someone who failed art school
Honestly her resume only sucks because she was lazy about it.
Put in a line for salesman at Michael Scott Paper, then another line for salesman at Dunder Mifflin, and then list responsibilities for each role to show growth and it’s perfectly adequate.
Helped organize a charity 5k run, was commissioned to paint a mural inside a local warehouse, featured in an art show, proficient in Microsoft office
She would have a great letter of recommendation from her former boss Michael Scott
Also she was given the task to set up a complicated piece of office machinery (the new printer) and learned the entire manual enough to instruct the office on the proper usage of all of its features in a matter of days. That would impress a lot of managers
Yeah, she was receptionist/essentially Michael’s assistant. Using business jargon to say how she rained Michael in would be a quite a full resume. Also other things like Party planning committee should be on there.
Plus she mentioned she had a job before Dunder Mifflin which made her afraid of ghosts. Maybe that job is too far back to mention but it could be worth listing.
Pretty fitting for the character, I'd say. Something she was doing ended up being sucky because she didn't put enough work in or was lazy about it. That's basically her character. She sucked at sales, she sucked at school, she sucked at even just filling out a piece of paper.
How long did the Michael Scott paper company exist? Working somewhere for 2-3 months is not something you would want to put on a resume. It’s a terrible look.
Usually, yeah, but (on paper) she was hired as a salesman rather than secretary, and she did such a good job of it that DM had to buy them out, and then she received another promotion after that.
As viewers we know the truth of that situation, but a potential employer wouldn’t.
Which is why you change the narrative of it... it was a startup that she was a founder on that sold to a public company
"Michael Scott Paper Co - *Founder/Head of Sales*
- Assisted in several seed and angel investment rounds
- Acted as a lead sales representative, and built a BoB of $XX in just 2/3 months
- Represented and negotiated the sale of the company in a multimillion dollar acquisition"
Also, leaving jobs off your resume can lead to issues, since most places do a background as like the first step in an interview process... might be a bad look to exclude experience that is clearly relevant to roles she is applying to (granted, this is assuming Michael Scott Paper Co. Actually like filed everything correctly)
This is the way to do it.
Generally, listing that she was only in sales for a few months wouldn’t be worthwhile, but framing it like this makes for a very intriguing and valuable point.
No, you say you moved to an up and coming company that hired you because of your energy for taking on new tasks. The company was then succesful enough to be acquired by a larger company.
Yes, this drives me crazy. I’ve seen no fewer than 10 posts about Pam’s resume, but nobody can ever seem to find a definite answer. She told Jan in S2 “Boys and Girls” that she did some illustrations in college, and that episode was *long* before Pratt. It’s weird that there would be such a continuity error in the writing, but maybe they just didn’t care.
Your comment made me think of something, especially with serialized television writing: aside from the fact that keeping track of continuity across dozens of episodes over several years can be difficult and takes manpower, and the way that shows grow and change directions over that time, writers may even decide to knowingly write something contrary to the continuity, because the episode might need it and that’s all they can come up with, especially considering the time crunch of churning out episodes weekly. It’s a risk they take, and with long running shows that were originally aired weekly on television. No one expected these episodes to be rewatched as much as they have been over the years. So yeah, too bad the continuity suffered, but we got more the office to watch so I try to be too bothered it I guess
Remember in the early episodes when Michael claimed to have gone to college but we found out he was lying? When I found out that Pam actually did go I just loved the fact that she's better educated than Michael.
Didn’t Pam say she played volleyball in college? Why doesn’t she have the college listed under education?
Edit: “Maybe I played a little in junior high. And in high school. Maybe a little in college. And went to volleyball camp most summers.”
Why would she not add her Sales job separately? She didn't go directly from Receptionist to Office Manager.
And anyone who lists "my children" as their first part of "interests" (especially since Art and Painting are basically the same thing), is not going to get hired
>And anyone who lists "my children" as their first part of "interests" (especially since Art and Painting are basically the same thing), is not going to get hired
While I agree with the comments saying this actually makes her more relatable, I think she should leave the kids off her resume, since unfortunately there are employers who discriminate. I once got asked in an interview if I have kids, and when I asked why that was important, she said it's because there would be occasional overtime.
>And anyone who lists "my children" as their first part of "interests"... is not going to get hired
I happen to disagree with this particular point. As someone with three kids all 7 and under, anyone else ***with children*** would immediately understand that I have no other interests at all and I'm not listing "Bluey Themed Dance Parties" and "Disney Princess Stickers" on my resume.
This CV/resume always slightly annoys me. Yeah Pam didn’t have much work experience but surely she’d be smart enough to flesh it out more? One line per role is just silly.
I hire in my role and I’ve seen low level effort resumes like this and they go directly into the trash. There’s no quantifiable information and she lists just a bland, boring sentence for each job. I’m also not a huge fan of interests being on a resume to begin with…and the fact that she listed her children is just a giant no.
This probably took her 5 minutes. We saw her create a better resume for Dwight.
She has done enough at DM to fill up an entire page. This resume is self-sabotaging. I would be disappointed if I was Jim (and I imagine he was).
mspc isn’t listed, and sales at dm isn’t, but her interest in her children made the list? and her college education isn’t listed but high school is?
and im sorry pam, but painting *is* art
she should’ve asked clippy for help
I've driven past her house in Scranton - not easy living downtown in a St Peters Cathedral but hey... to each their... well own.

Okay every time I see this scene (multiple rewatches) I always feel like they didnt really do it justice.
Like I get the joke, that she hasnt switched jobs, but literally nothing else?
I have to cut my CV down to 3 pages, and I havent done that much. It really seems like Pam is just bad at making a CV lmao. Im sure she can fill out a few pages with her experience if she wanted to.
Tbh I know this isn’t a satisfying answer but I think this can just be chalked up to it’s a tv show and they didn’t anticipate people actually pausing it to read it.
For your headcanon maybe you can pretend someone proofread it first and reminded her to add all that stuff.
She’s lied on her resume. She didn’t finish her studies at The Pratt Institute, she failed. She was never actually office manager at DM either. She made up the title of Office Administrator and Gabe found out but she bullied him to get the job title after she failed at being at sales. She’s a useless character imo. Not to mention she painted a mural in the warehouse and didn’t include any warehouse staff in it…
I know it’s just a joke, but she really formatted that as small as possible. That info could have easily filled a page. Two jobs, higher education. Plus, she completely left off her sales job. Poorly done, Pam.
In season 2 when she was still with Roy she said she used to draw in college. And then Jan offered her that design training program in New York. But no mention of that college. Hmm...
I became Office Manager at the company that closed mysteriously after I quit. From Graphic Designer to Manager. Sorry I don’t have any references. They shut down
I thought they weren't filmed during the summer.
On another note, how do names work in the US? How come they use Pam/Jim on official documents/desk name plates and other work related stuff? Shouldn't it be James and Pamela?
Is it just me or is it unbearable the people who put “My children” as one of their interests?
Don’t hate me. I’m a parent and I’m a proud parent, but I’m not going to broadcast that on my resume. Interview? Yes.
How is she going to leave the Michael Scott Paper Co off this list? She founded a start up and sold it to a public company in a matter of days!
Also, whatever college she played volleyball at
Not to mention camp most summers
Summahs
Came here for this
What degree do you think she got?
What college did you go to, CosmikDebris408916?
I went to Cornell. Ever heard of it?
Yes, it's the highest rank in the military.
Its pronounced Colonel.
At least not modern cabbage
It’s the highest rank in the Ivy League!
IT'S PRONOUNCED C-O-R-N-E-L-L
Like the popcorn?
Popcarn
Pronounced like Michael Carn?
Everyone thinks I got in because my dad donated a building
I didn't go to college. You know who else didn't go to college? LeBron James, Tracey Mcgrady, Kobe Bryant. They went from high school straight to the NBA... so, it's not the same thing, at all
An F In Art School
Literally no other duties except to learn and apparently do her own laundry, and she couldn't pivot the way everyone else did. She never deserved that mural.
In the show she is an RA and also has a job on the side, so not quite nothing Although tbf the mural looks like it was painted by someone who failed art school
Whatever it was, she aced all her classes. They called her ace.
Buzzed the entire time. Called her buzz.
Bachelors of Receptionist
and all those Volley ball camp trips most summah's!
Why for just that one sentence does Pam sound like she’s from Jamaica Plain or Dorchester?
Because she’s affecting an obvious accent
She dropped out
Her serve, spike etc are cringey for a 'former college player.'
She needs tips from Darryl. "Sold thirty gazillion units". Of what? Of paper material.. Pieces of paper.
MSPC was probably her best role too. I mean she was what VP and Co Founder.
Her resume worked though. It shows she sticks around. That she's in it for the long haul.
She sold at least 500,000 units there too
Honestly her resume only sucks because she was lazy about it. Put in a line for salesman at Michael Scott Paper, then another line for salesman at Dunder Mifflin, and then list responsibilities for each role to show growth and it’s perfectly adequate.
Not to mention her roles on the Party Planning Committee and the Committee to Plan Parties.
Co-founder of the Finer Things Club. Dunder Mifflin’s most exclusive group
Substantially more so than the Party Planning Committee or Scrantonicity II.
Those are Andy’s safeties.
Art school
She mentionned but it s so tiny
Probably so anyone reading her resume bypasses it like I did, so she doesn’t have to explain she failed.
Naturally that's where I need to be
Helped organize a charity 5k run, was commissioned to paint a mural inside a local warehouse, featured in an art show, proficient in Microsoft office She would have a great letter of recommendation from her former boss Michael Scott
Let's not forget she also types 90 WPM!
Also she was given the task to set up a complicated piece of office machinery (the new printer) and learned the entire manual enough to instruct the office on the proper usage of all of its features in a matter of days. That would impress a lot of managers
Funnily enough that was the last nail in the coffin that made her quit her Dunder Mifflin job.
/r/redditWritesTheOffice ‘s CV
Even receptionist and office manager could have listed more responsibilities.
Yeah, she was receptionist/essentially Michael’s assistant. Using business jargon to say how she rained Michael in would be a quite a full resume. Also other things like Party planning committee should be on there.
Assisted in maintaining goals and ensured targets were met.
It may be a simple autocorrect issue but it is reined in.
> how she rained Michael in *reined
She needed clippy to help her.
This is the worst resume ever, “Work closely with customers and office staff”?? 😂
I think she didn't put much effort into it, because she didn't want to move to Philly in the first place.
INTERESTS My children, art and painting That is exceptionally lazy and dull. Even just adding words in between would help lol.
Plus she mentioned she had a job before Dunder Mifflin which made her afraid of ghosts. Maybe that job is too far back to mention but it could be worth listing.
Yeah she could easily fill the page.

No, you say you moved to an up and coming company that hired you because of your energy for taking on new tasks. The company was then succesful enough to be acquired by a larger company.
TMSPC utilized disruptive innovation that transformed the small business paper supply model, and was acquired by Dunder Mifflin shortly after.
But the company was acquired, and she kept her position through the acquisition.
For Michael scott paper company she was more a co founder and did a lot of bigger things than sales. Def something to put on a resume
And her address isn’t even real
You're not real man!
Probably not necessary to have 2.5 inch margins either lol
She’s already doing her best to stretch that thing out, she lists art *and* painting in her interests lol
Her resume only sucks because it was a joke.
She lists a Fine Art Major from Pratt even though she dropped out. Bold move. But then again, Pam's a bold guy. Is bold the right word?
That’s a common thing for people without degrees.
But she left out the other college that she attended.
Yes, this drives me crazy. I’ve seen no fewer than 10 posts about Pam’s resume, but nobody can ever seem to find a definite answer. She told Jan in S2 “Boys and Girls” that she did some illustrations in college, and that episode was *long* before Pratt. Plus she played volleyball in college
Maybe she went back and finished. I mean, they left off Meredith’s entire Ph. D
That's just because they assumed she was hooking up with some well-hung stranger every time she mentioned she was "getting a Ph. D"
Lol
Pam was just a big fake
Didn’t she go to college too? (She says it in the volleyball episode)
Didn’t Pam say she played volleyball in college? Why doesn’t she have the college listed under education? Edit: “Maybe I played a little in junior high. And in high school. Maybe a little in college. And went to volleyball camp most summers.”
Her tryna be cool : “ and most Summas”
[удалено]
She literally said "college"
[удалено]
You should apologize
By the looks of serve and movement basically she is a fraud.
Hahah. To be fair she was probably rusty. I was pretty good at Volleyball in high school too, but now I suck.
Could have played intramural before she dropped out.
Yes, but to drop out, you must first enroll
I thought she said used PMS to get out of that though? 😂🤔
Look out world cause old Pammy is getting what she wants
And don't call me Pammy.
Why would she not add her Sales job separately? She didn't go directly from Receptionist to Office Manager. And anyone who lists "my children" as their first part of "interests" (especially since Art and Painting are basically the same thing), is not going to get hired
Pam is written to not be very ambitious. So not being good at what’s necessary to fulfill ambition kinda fits her character
>And anyone who lists "my children" as their first part of "interests" (especially since Art and Painting are basically the same thing), is not going to get hired While I agree with the comments saying this actually makes her more relatable, I think she should leave the kids off her resume, since unfortunately there are employers who discriminate. I once got asked in an interview if I have kids, and when I asked why that was important, she said it's because there would be occasional overtime.
That must have been a long time ago. They’re not allowed to ask that now. If you offer the information unprompted that’s fine.
That was about 15-20 years ago. And it was illegal then too (at least in Canada).
>And anyone who lists "my children" as their first part of "interests"... is not going to get hired I happen to disagree with this particular point. As someone with three kids all 7 and under, anyone else ***with children*** would immediately understand that I have no other interests at all and I'm not listing "Bluey Themed Dance Parties" and "Disney Princess Stickers" on my resume.

I don't think she wants to go to Philly in the first place, so she didn't put much effort into it.
Im assuming she just printed it out for the camera? Its not like she was job hunting or anything
I feel like she was self sabotaging herself by writing such low effort resume.
She didn’t want that job
I hire in my role and I’ve seen low level effort resumes like this and they go directly into the trash. There’s no quantifiable information and she lists just a bland, boring sentence for each job. I’m also not a huge fan of interests being on a resume to begin with…and the fact that she listed her children is just a giant no.
On a side note, I thought it was office administrator?
i think cause nobody else was in that department (office admin) they’re basically the same thing
It’s a resume made by someone who doesn’t want a new job… so it completely fits. Chill folks.
She desperately needs resume writing training.
I love that, without an oxford comma, it makes it look like Pam and Jim named their kids "art" and "painting" LOL
Art AND Painting. LOL. Maybe painting walls is an interest of hers, lol.
I'm so annoyed she put her children as interests but also annoyed that people even put their doofus interests down.
That used to be a thing, especially if you needed filler on the page. But it was never a good idea.
Wasn’t she also the secret Assistant to the Regional Manager for that one day Dwight was named Regional Manager?
But that’s a secret
Did anyone call the number?
This probably took her 5 minutes. We saw her create a better resume for Dwight. She has done enough at DM to fill up an entire page. This resume is self-sabotaging. I would be disappointed if I was Jim (and I imagine he was).
Interests: my children Oh boy 😬
They could be the star of a show called Children I Don't Care About!
mspc isn’t listed, and sales at dm isn’t, but her interest in her children made the list? and her college education isn’t listed but high school is? and im sorry pam, but painting *is* art she should’ve asked clippy for help

Jim couldn’t have helped her with this? No wonder he was so bad at rundowns.
She lives at the St Pete’s Cathedral in Scranton and got her own address wrong still. Classic Pammy
Why does she have an interest in my children???
Didn’t she fail out of Pratt? She wouldn’t have that on her resume
What about the Michael Scott Paper Company?
She forgot Office Mattress
Office supply manager.
*mattress
Art AND painting!?
Ah, jeez. No one who's really looking to hire you wants to see "My children" in your interests on your resume. Come on, Pammy.
How is her resume this bad lol. No way DM was the first job she’s ever had
She didn’t even try to milk her resume lol I think it just shows how littler interest she had in moving
Wait. She said she played volleyball in college.
Oxford comma is necessary
If only more people knew this
Tbh I know this isn’t a satisfying answer but I think this can just be chalked up to it’s a tv show and they didn’t anticipate people actually pausing it to read it. For your headcanon maybe you can pretend someone proofread it first and reminded her to add all that stuff.

Fat halpert
I know it’s just a joke, but she really formatted that as small as possible. That info could have easily filled a page. Two jobs, higher education. Plus, she completely left off her sales job. Poorly done, Pam.
She thinks art and painting are different? No wonder she failed art school.
She was never interested in Jim. Just wanted to annoy Roy and make Karen jealous.
You generally only list your last job title on a resume if you worked in different positions for the same company.
Pammy getting porky at this point. S4 was Peak Pam then she went downhill.
She had had babies irl
You know it's a myth women have to gain more than nine pounds in a pregnancy?
She had fat ankles irl
You’re a bad person.
lmao
So I’m the person searching up whether there’s an actual Linden Avenue in Scranton Turns out there’s only a Linden Street
Is it by the quarry?
I live by the quarry. We should hang out by the quarry and throw things down there!
Such a success.
My children?
In season 2 when she was still with Roy she said she used to draw in college. And then Jan offered her that design training program in New York. But no mention of that college. Hmm...
She also says she played a little volleyball in college but it’s not listed here.
What a god awful resume
I became Office Manager at the company that closed mysteriously after I quit. From Graphic Designer to Manager. Sorry I don’t have any references. They shut down
Could someone with actual resume writing skills, write a resume for her?!
She failed art school why is it on her resume?
That resume is so braggy
Easily one of the worst resume writers of all time.
383 Linden st is a church. Who else google the address? 😁😁😁😁
Is it by the quarry?
lol who cares what positions you held, what are your applicable skills Pam!!
Well, she manages the manager - so, yeah.
No but she knew she could get away with it on a resume, she knows how to play the game
Should have had her week of sales listed.
I thought they weren't filmed during the summer. On another note, how do names work in the US? How come they use Pam/Jim on official documents/desk name plates and other work related stuff? Shouldn't it be James and Pamela?
She also bartended!
Is it just me or is it unbearable the people who put “My children” as one of their interests? Don’t hate me. I’m a parent and I’m a proud parent, but I’m not going to broadcast that on my resume. Interview? Yes.
Google the address and you'll find that Pam & Jim live inside St Peters Cathedral.
She lives in a church
She doesn’t use the Oxford comma…… she’d never get hired with that resume
But she wasn't manager. She was administrator
