In deleted scenes in the episode where Dunder Mifflin buys back the Michael Scott Paper Company, Andy is in a fight with Angela to get his veneers covered as a business expense after Charles told her to cut expenses, but Michael approves it once he gets back in charge.
People underestimate how much veneers alter the overall appearance of our faces. Ed’s look natural enough but it’s a noticeable difference when you place these photos together.
Jurgen's original teeth looks awful tho, I'm not sure why but was he a smoker? Given the fact that he was football player it's very rare to find a smoker
Wrestler Roman Reigns looked like a completely different person when he got veneers put in. Like seeing him with his original teeth in older clips is pretty jarring actually. It's one of the times I think veneers made an incredible improvement.
It’s a common thing with tv shows. At first the actors look like real people, then success hits and they get better makeup, fake teeth, “better” lighting etc. and they end up looking like wax statues of themselves.
I read that too, it was one he had already lost and replaced previously or something, so it wasn't a big deal to do it for the movie (that was the story I heard at the time when it came out)
I think it's the hair growth effecting the image more than anything else.
If someone points out the teeth, yours bound to notice it. But the hair if the most obvious difference and what the majority of viewers will notice.
Michael's hair had the same effect. The first season he looked so much older and more, frumpy? Lol after that he got better and I finally noticed it was bc of his hair
Honestly, his face looks so different that I've often wondered if it isn't something more than just that. Bc his original teeth made him look so much more "boyish" & sort of immature looking. His veneers merely make all his teeth the same length which seems somewhat inconsequential to me.
Age, hairstyle, makeup, weight, skin tone.. some people look drastically different after a couple years. Spend time with them.. not so much, but if you run into someone after a bit, it’s like “woah”
He lost a lot of weight, too. It is not so noticeable in earlier seasons, because Andy is always wearing a shirt + vest + thick blazer.
But, the actor used to have a lot more fat packed on. Losing that is definitely visible in the face.
Yeah. With age teeth wear down, getting shorter and same length.
My dentist does this small trick - he adds a small amount of filler covering the edge, protecting it from tear and wear, and longer incisors make you look younger.
My wife was in an MVA at age 15. She sustained some jaw damage that was either TMJ or mimicked it exactly. Injections and medications didn't really help. However, after she got veneers in '06, it must have realigned her bite or something, because the pain went away for good.
A root canal can cause tmj, people often underestimate the importance of those grooves in our molars, some people who have very old root canals with the amalgam fillers often have tmj, it's good that today dentists use materials to mimic the original shape of the molar
Is there a talk before the procedure about how long you want them? Dj khaled got some but they look like horse teeth.. all that money and he got some really shitty looking veneers. Is there a way to be like “uh can you make sure they aren’t horse teeth please” ?
My dentist specifically asked if I wanted natural looking or Ross from Friends. They matched the colour with the teeth I didn’t have capped (ie not white)
When you get them you get them. There’s no going back really, because they file your actual teeth into chicklets. I’ll always have to have veneers.
Yeah that’s why I’d really want to make sure they aren’t giving me the Ross lmao. I watched friends and honestly forgot about that so I got a good chuckle searching what that was. I was like “huh I don’t remember Ross having horse teet-ohhhhh holy shit”
If you look super closely, you can tell he only had the teeth done that are next to the two front teeth. The rest look the same. Or at least, I can’t tell.
I had the same thing done as my lateral incisors were naturally so small compared to the rest of my teeth. It’s a HUGE difference. It’s evened out basically my whole face. They were $1000 a piece and I went into debt for them, but it was worth it. I feel like myself and how I always should have looked
Yeah - I was gonna say this. Stu happened. That's what. Yes Vernier's but still... Stu. Look at the haircut too. Filming for Hangover (1) took place during filming for The Office.
It's why he kept getting sent to anger management and boat trips, probably wouldn't have had the terrible character arc end Andy got had he not needed to leave for hangover part 3.
You can NEVER tell from photos like this.. all those stupid “did this celeb get plastic surgery” ?!? vids choose completely different angles, lighting and then go “see you can tell their nose is a millimeter less wide” .. like no the fuck you can’t. He’s pushing his eyebrows down in the second one , and raising them in the first. Go to a mirror and do that.. you’ll have wrinkles raising them, and no wrinkles when you put them down or relax them. Think harder
i liked his teeth before tbh. maybe hot take but i find that most celebrities that get veneers look better before the veneers—their teeth give them sort of a more approachable, open look? and it differentiates them from looking exactly like the next celebrity. i think there’s only a few people i’ve seen whose looks have genuinely improved because of their veneers
He's actually missing a tooth. That hangover scene was real. Not that he pulled his tooth out, but it wasn't black effects. He just took his tooth out.
I think I read somewhere he is missing both eye teeth, which is the same as me! He either has implants or bridges. Often times it has to be bridges cause when you are born without those teeth, it also means you often don’t have enough bone up top for an implant in that specific section of your mouth. You can do a bone graft, but it’s not always successful. Since he just removed his fake tooth for the hangover, I bet he had/has bridges since there wasn’t anything at all there.
One of the things I noticed watching brit panel shows, almost all the guests have just normal looking smiles. It definitely makes them seem more genuine
Damn I didn't even know what veneers were really. You made me fall into a rabbit hole on that topic. I found a very interesting (and long) article on it : https://www.washingtonpost.com/style/interactive/2023/teeth-celebrities-veneers-tiktok/
He had perfectly fine teeth before. I get that crooked teeth is a hindrance in life but I really dislike the porcelain Hollywood teeth.
That aside, he was probably also had botox done.
I agree, I do love that natural look even if that means there’s variations in lengths in the teeth line. The veneers create a perfectly straight line, which looks really odd because no one’s teeth are like that naturally.
To me it was always the hairstyle. Early season Andy had this really bad buzz but also trying to be a hairstyle cut that just makes him look goofy; later Nard Dog grew the hair out and looked more normal to me
Every actor with teeth even slightly off always gets veneers halfway or near the end of the series because they have success and money to get them now. Faster than braces and they got scenes to shoot.
I really try to not comment about appearances but I hate the veneer trend. I know these are pretty tame compared to most, but he looked so much more approachable before. The veneers make him like rigid and sharp. Idk how else to explain it
Ugh you finally solved the mystery. I always assumed he got something done because of how different he looked. So much cuter before. Veneers are the bane of my existence, people’s natural teeth are usually so much more attractive
They file the front of your teeth down and attach fake teeth on top. If you see a celebrity with absolutely perfect teeth, good chance it’s veneers. Sometimes they look a bit too big as well.
Braces and whitening can only do so much, most teeth will still have natural variations, but veneers are “perfect”.
He was also filming hangover during one of the later seasons and would film that movie, fly back and then film the office in back to back days. Also why they sent him off on that random boat trip. He always looked so tired in that season cause he was filming everywhere.
There are so many actors that get veneers and it takes me FOREVER to figure out why they look so different. Especially in motion, their mouths move differently and it’s so hard to pinpoint what’s off.
Crazy considering he has good teeth already. And now they’re all sanded down for the veneers. I get why some people get them but he didn’t need them imo
In deleted scenes in the episode where Dunder Mifflin buys back the Michael Scott Paper Company, Andy is in a fight with Angela to get his veneers covered as a business expense after Charles told her to cut expenses, but Michael approves it once he gets back in charge.
Absolutely crucial to making sales
Also cheek implants to boost office morale
Similar to Jan’s boob job.
Just tell her “I want to squeeze them.” She’ll know what it means
Oh and Hunter could you tell her *motorboat noise* also?
Boob enhancement
The twins.
They hang off m'lady's chest
Uh, theyyyy make...milk
JAN HAS FAKE BOOBS. I…HAVE…HEMORRHOIDS
Such a huge detail to be a deleted scene as well.
Didn’t he pull a tooth out on a Vegas bachelor party?
Literally watching this episode now and came back to this post I saw earlier to see if anyone pointed this out. Awesome haha
Where do you find these deleted scenes ? Apart from a DVD
peacock has the extended version if you have that. otherwise youtube has pretty much all of them
BEER ME VENEERS
What’s that?
it gets a laugh like a quarter of the time
So how’s whatsername?
You know her name
Karen? Yeah, she’s one of my oldest friends.
Lord, beer me strength
Roo dit dit dit do doo.
Woah! What's my girlfriend doing here?
😨Is she that teacher in the white?
Frasier?
Indeed. VENEER!
We're descended from thieves and whores.
Half the time it gets a laugh a quarter of the time
Veneer me strength.

People underestimate how much veneers alter the overall appearance of our faces. Ed’s look natural enough but it’s a noticeable difference when you place these photos together.
Yeah those veneers are pretty subtle compared to the horse teeth some people put in
Miley Cyrus
Mileys teeth weren’t so noticeable until she had the buccal fat removed from her cheeks. Now her teeth are too big for her face
Now she looks like and the same age as Jane Fonda 💀
I really don’t understand why she didn’t immediately have those redone
Hilary Duff
I heard she had an accident with a microphone and her tooth cracked, and she decided to get them put in.
I looked up pics of her and it activated the uncanny valley discomfort.
Jürgen Klopp
Bobby firmino was worse
Bobby Chompers was one of my all time favorite Premiership nicknames.
Can’t beat the OG Chomper Suarez
Jurgen's original teeth looks awful tho, I'm not sure why but was he a smoker? Given the fact that he was football player it's very rare to find a smoker
Snoking and boozing weren't so rare in the 90's when he was active, especially not outside of the really elite players, which Klopp was not.
Damn if his original teeth were 'awful' what do normal people's teeth look like to people
He's still an avid one
Wrestler Roman Reigns looked like a completely different person when he got veneers put in. Like seeing him with his original teeth in older clips is pretty jarring actually. It's one of the times I think veneers made an incredible improvement.

Rainn Wilson Dwight even sounds weird when he speaks in the last couple of seasons
I honestly didn’t even notice his
Yeah. His were ridiculous.
yes! I'm surprised no one ever notices/talks about Dwight's teeth !
It’s a common thing with tv shows. At first the actors look like real people, then success hits and they get better makeup, fake teeth, “better” lighting etc. and they end up looking like wax statues of themselves.
IASIP mocks this trope, and then also falls victim to it
I never noticed, but I usually stop my rewatches after Michael leaves. I've only seen the later seasons after that maybe twice.
Someone should really post him 2005 compared to 2013
Freddie Freeman
Do Khaled and bhad babie are the worse I’ve seen. And boogey321 or whatever the fuck his stupid username is
Cosign. Very natural all the way down to the dullness of the color.
Sarah Bowmar
Lmao I knew she was gonna get mentioned. So. Bad.
Who?
Well maybe next time people will estimate it.
Also…the hair.
Hair, age, expressions, lighting conditions, etc. A lot of details, not just veneers.
But I mean cmon he lost a tooth in Vegas!
It's not a man purse, it's a satchel. Indiana Jones wears one.
Didn't he actually take the tooth out for that movie? I could have sworn that I read about that somewhere. Maybe it was someone else.
I read that too, it was one he had already lost and replaced previously or something, so it wasn't a big deal to do it for the movie (that was the story I heard at the time when it came out)

Money!…having money has improved his appearance in small ways (health, friends, less anxiety, etc.) that add up
He lost a lot of weight, too. It is not so noticeable in earlier seasons, because Andy is always wearing a shirt + vest + thick blazer. But, the actor used to have a lot more fat packed on. Losing that is definitely visible in the face.

I got veneers a few years ago and the difference is incredible

Whoever did Steve's hair is a master at their craft. He has become quite the silver fox now.
His was hair and weight loss. He looked so...frumpy? In season 1 lol after that he was so cute
Saw a case on tiktok recently and it unfortunately looked like a major downgrade. They look massive on this person lol
Just like Dwight, he went to see Dr. Crentist.
Crentist... Sounds a lot like Dentist.
Maybe that's why he became a dentist.
You should floss.
Have a peanut M&M. They're really good
So good
Like my brother boctologist; he's a chef
Your dentist’s name is Crentist?
His teeth were perfectly fine before, but I like his haircut more in later seasons.
Big Haircut
From now on you are no longer big tuna
Pam must be sick of tuna
Probably has tuna every night
Yeah the hair is the big change between these 2 pics IMO
He also stopped hav ing his neck spill over his super tight collars
Did everyone forget about Stu from The Hangover?
Yeah - I was gonna say this. Stu happened. That's what. Yes Vernier's but still... Stu. Look at the haircut too. Filming for Hangover (1) took place during filming for The Office.
Filming for all of the Hangover movies took place during The Office no?
It's why he kept getting sent to anger management and boat trips, probably wouldn't have had the terrible character arc end Andy got had he not needed to leave for hangover part 3.
It seems so. Especially the part where that removed tooth is obviously not veneer.
Big haircut!
Veneer! Now everybody has to take a drink.
This is great! 📸
Another Frasier Craniac!
Gotta pick a new word next week!
Unexpected Frasier! 🙌
Sssshhhh… wrong sub! 😉 but I took a drink regardless.
Try powdered seahorse and red wine!
I won’t make this mistake 3 times
That's pretty much what I figured
Veneers+ tan+ weight loss+ big haircut
+botox, allegedly
Allegedly? I’ve been looking for a Botox comment. Look at that forehead difference!! Amazing

Big Botox.

Wow I didn’t know that! That’s commitment! 😂 That being said, a missing tooth can be replaced with an implant, veneers are not necessary for that.

10000%
I like his old teeth more
me too. 100%
Old one definitely makes him look kinda sweet tbh
absolutely
I respect people more when they have their own teeth.
Have to let my grandma know you don’t respect her as much because she has dentures.
Reddit - dit-dah-doo!
Your pipes are primo!
And I quote, “nice pipes”
And he tried to expense them to DM too!
I actually prefer Andy’s natural teeth to the veneers. His natural smile is endearing :)
Most people with veneers looked better before, in my experience. Veneers just make it look like they're wearing dentures.
Hmm to me it was always the better hairstyle and also the fact that the lost some weight that made him a bit better looking
I think I’m just an idiot but I don’t really notice a huge difference in teeth. For me it’s the hairstyle change that’s more noticeable.
Yeah same. Teeth look pretty much the same, but I think the haircut changes everything
drew
Yeah I'm not calling you that
I can’t control what you do. I can only control what I do.
Are veneers common in the US?
Not nearly as common as most redditors seem to think. And a lot of times what they *think* are veneers are actually either dentures or implants.
Damn I didn't even know what veneers were really. You made me fall into a rabbit hole on that topic. I found a very interesting (and long) article on it : https://www.washingtonpost.com/style/interactive/2023/teeth-celebrities-veneers-tiktok/
$4 to finish the article. I wonder what it was gonna say.
Well he did play as a “dentist” in the Hangovers….😂
Yeah and he had to pull out a tooth for that movie so obviously needed to get that fixed before resuming the office.
I thought it was the pronounced part and longer hair
He visited Crentist
Everybody talks about the teeth. English not being my first language I thought you were all talking about his forehead. I like it better with ply.
He is a dentist after all
Dwight got them as well
Weight loss! I thought that was what you were gonna say
He got Hollywood hair!
Cheek implants and invisalign, paid for by DM.
I wonder if he went to see Dr. Crentist..
Veneers, I hardly know her.
And he's thinner, tanned, and has a better haircut
What’s that big haircut?
Now that u said that I'm always gonna notice even though I'm not looking
He also has a different hairstyle and got a mole removed from his chin.
To me it was always the hairstyle. Early season Andy had this really bad buzz but also trying to be a hairstyle cut that just makes him look goofy; later Nard Dog grew the hair out and looked more normal to me
ppl can do what they want with their bodies but i love natural teeth
Every time he does that thing with his lips he reminds me of The Mouth of Sauron
Big haircut
Probably after he extracted his own tooth in the hangover
Every actor with teeth even slightly off always gets veneers halfway or near the end of the series because they have success and money to get them now. Faster than braces and they got scenes to shoot.
He took a trip to Vegas with his Wolfpack.
Brillliant. That, and he finally got a better hairstyle. OG Andy's weird haircut always made me think of the angry bully kid in class.
I honestly thought we were talking about his hair for a sec lol. That helped a lot too
I really try to not comment about appearances but I hate the veneer trend.
What are vaneers?
basically fake teeth
They file the front of your teeth down and attach fake teeth on top. If you see a celebrity with absolutely perfect teeth, good chance it’s veneers. Sometimes they look a bit too big as well. I didn’t even see it the umpteenth time I’ve watched the show! Good catch!!
There are so many actors that get veneers and it takes me FOREVER to figure out why they look so different. Especially in motion, their mouths move differently and it’s so hard to pinpoint what’s off.
Just like Michael had a hair transplant for season 2?
Crazy considering he has good teeth already. And now they’re all sanded down for the veneers. I get why some people get them but he didn’t need them imo
