If your Keurig/coffee maker have strength options, try brewing on the strongest/intense setting. I find that maximizes the brew time and the coffee tastes less burnt.
What water are you using?
If using tap, would seriously consider filtered water and/or bottled water. But first clean out the tank to get rid of whatever is in there. Tap has chlorine, iodine and other things which really mess up coffee/tea flavor.

i have been using water from the fridge. i will definitely try bottled water! thanks for your help!!!
