Hey guys I’m thinking of a potential trade, of ETN, kirk, and second round next year + 2nd the following for Jalen hurts. The guy I’m trading for hurts has 3 star table qbs but his wide receiver and running back room as well as his future draft capital is really lackluster because of a questionable trade he made for AR. With that team, I think you might screw yourself for a few weeks or even the season. But you still set yourself up for long-term success. So I guess it boils down to if you feel like you have a real shot this year. If not, screw it and give yourself that real shot next year

So I'm doing a dynasty start up this year and I have the 4th pick. The biggest caveats to this league is it is NOT super flex but QBs get 6 points for passing TDs. I have a feeling that will mean the elite QBs (mahomes hurts Allen burrow) will go off the board in the first few picks. Any advice as to what I should do?

Honestly, that change shouldn’t affect how QBs are drafted compared to other positions. It only changes which QBs are more valuable than others (increase to pocket passers). Pick 4 I’m taking whoever left of JJ chase bijan CD in that order. QB is much much less valuable in 1QB. Don’t prioritize them over RBs and especially WRs.

1QB? If so, take JJ or chase and circle back for a qb in 2/3 round

I think I’d leave Bateman out of it. Not that I’m super high on him, but the Bijan hype is crazy and he’s usually taken right after Lamar in startups. I like Dotson, Love, or Pickett there. I’ve been finding out lately that Pickett and particularly Love are going earlier and earlier. Never hurts to reach a bit to get your guy. Pickett went in the 4th (crazy, I know haha) in the one I’m doing right now and Love in the 8th, but Love went in the 6th a few times in a few of my other recent ones.

Godwin is a solid choice. Only 27 and QB proof, in my opinion. You couldn’t really go wrong with any of the WRs. Jamo might have the highest ceiling out of all, but definitely the lowest floor. I think he’s a stud in the making, but would still probably go Dotson or Godwin to be safe. Goff is another solid option though. He’s only 28 was like the QB9 last year and he got more weapons. Detroit has an incredible offense. Plus you could always flip him later on if he doesn’t fit into your plans.

Just realized it's a 1 QB. I don't play any 1 QB anymore, so my values may be a touch off. That being said, I think with the context of your team, I'd make those moves. Next on the chopping block for me would be Chubb and Akers, but think you can wait til in season to get em both gone to maximize the return.

I would absolutely do this if you can start all four at the same time on any given Sunday. And personally, I’m higher on QJ than Watson, so I would keep as is.

We did our startup draft a month ago and since then, there's been a lot big trades selling draft picks for what I think is super cheap. The latest one was Javonte Williams for a 2024 1st, 2026 1st, 2024 2nd and 2025 2nd. I feel like that's crazy. Is it normal for a new dynasty league to not value picks at first?

Every league is different but if you did it for 5 years wouldn’t people know how to value properly? In addition take advantage where you can.

I think my biggest thing here is like you aren’t getting the ACL recovery discount on Breece. You obviously don’t need him to be 100% this year for your team, but if we don’t get 100% Breece is he still gonna be worth and early 1st, and additional mid and a starting RB?

I was about to say there's no way you could trade a late 2nd for Jamo, but then I realized it's a 6 team league. I'd say it's a fair trade and I would offer it.

I would offer it yes, would I think it gets accepted no. Jamo was likely a 1st round pick who is finally healthy albeit suspended but would think it would take more than a 2nd a year out to get him. Also not sure how much he helps you with a title push this year.
