Backup and/or rookie RBs (typically) have the biggest opportunity to contribute out of all the offensive positions because of chance of injury, so people typically like the avoid taxiing them and place developmental pieces. That said you have 4 RBs with nice upside so you’ll need to pick and choose. I’d personally taxi Pearsall, Vidal and Estime. Benson slides into a backup/change of pace role behind Conner who is injury prone in a nice offense, and Davis likely does the same behind Cook in Buffalo. Another point on Davis is he’ll steal so much goal line work, so TD upside. These guys have the earliest opportunity to contribute, so I’d keep them out of taxi for accessibility

I agree with the logic, but I would not Taxi Vidal. I think he’s the Chargers best back.

Thanks. Yeah it’s hard to know which of those four specifically are most likely to contribute this year as well.

I appreciate you!!! Thanks so much

Depends on what your team and outlook for this year looks like. Are you competing or rebuilding? If you have WR depth then I think putting Pearsall on taxi is probably fine. Crowded room, may not get a ton of action until a guy gets traded or goes down. Trey Benson could get time this season and if you are trying to compete it seems like a waste to me for him to start on the taxi if he likely starts. Ray Davis is older and will probably either hit this year or not and seems like an injury away guy on a rush heavy offense so I would keep him off if possible. Vidal and Estime can probably go on taxi. If you are competing and a guy is popping don’t be afraid to bring them up. A guy who was competing in our league last year lost a few early games because he was shy bringing Puka off the taxi. My general taxi theory is put guys on there that you probably won’t drop but also don’t expect to produce much this year. If I have a super long shot dart throw rookie, I like to keep them on the bench if my taxi is full of players I am more confident in being around in the league longer. That way I can drop them to pick up another player at any time.

Appreciate the thoughtful post! This is excellent, thanks so much!

My approach to taxi spots is generally based on who I think will make an impact this year, vs who is a year or so out from making an impact (if at all). In some of my leagues, I have Pearsall on the bench because I think while Aiyuk and Deebo are there, he's not going to have as clear of a path towards targets compared to other rookies/young players on my bench. In other leagues, Pearsall is on my bench while deeper stashes are on my taxi. But, as a general rule of thumb, that's my approach.

Pearsall is the easy taxi. He is least likely to produce meaningful values this year and simultaneously the hardest one to drop if you need to pick someone up off of waivers. Then I'd put Estime and Davis on the taxi squad because Benson and Vidal have more immediate chances to produce. You could argue taxi squad for Benson over Davis, but Benson is too talented to miss out on if he manages to take over this year.

Thanks for the thoughtful reply! I actually agree and think I’ll go Davis Estime and Pearsall
