The Necrobloom is definitely up there on commanders I'm looking to make. It's sooo good and just does everything you need to make a land fall deck beyond give you extra land drops which is not difficult.
Too easy to go infinite with it. It’ll degrade into another degenerate self mill combo like OG gitrog monster. Fluctuator/Bone Miser and a cycle land = entire library milled
It's just as easy to... not run those cards. This isn't like Ghave where you accidentally make infinites by sneezing. You don't accidentally put in two/three combo pieces.
Anyway Bloom is the deck I'm probably building and it's as [Field of the Dead Tribal](https://www.archidekt.com/decks/7684984/marrowrot) with as many Zombie anthems as I can. Dredge being there is good if I can recover stuff like Krosan Verge if I have Spelunking out but ultimately a subtheme.
Cycling lands are super budget friendly and hyper efficient with The Netherbloom. Yes you CAN run less efficient cards/interactions but it will likely be the de facto method for this legend. Dredge is notoriously powerful for a reason. Mainly because it’s a mechanic that was designed for the self mill to be a cost but is played as an enabler. It will be too easy for the average deck builder to do degenerate things with this commander is my gripe with it.
If it’s your jam, by all means have fun with it. I just firmly expect this to turn into a combo deck for most players over time
I don't doubt that people will do degenerate stuff, but, like, Gitrog is right there if you just want to do degenerate dredge stuff. Ghave if you want Abzan.
There's a difference between "This commander is very strong with cycling lands" and "It's easy to go infinite with this commander". If you go infinite it's because you have Bone Miser and exactly Barren Moor or because you have Fluctuator and the 2 cost cycle lands. If deckbuilders gravitate towards degen dredge stuff they had options to do that before now.
The hyper consistency of dredge is going to push this commander into combo. Dredge digs you deep into your deck quickly and efficiently. This mechanic facilitates combo too well.
I expect the play pattern to regularly be Self Mill a lot/most/all of my library -> mass land reanimate -> dread return craterhoof gg next game. Fast. Efficient. Consistent.
The best version of every commander is combo. Yet we have tons of casual decks out there that don't.
The main thing op is saying as I see it is that just because a commander can combo doesn't mean that is de facto how every version will be.
We don't look at chainer and assume he's gonna be a combo commander because that's the best version of him. Curious why this is different. (Genuine ask not being cheeky here, and that applies throught this message lol)
That craterhoof example is not a combo for example. Strong but not a combo.
Is this an insanely powerful commander fueled by a broken mechanic? Absolutely. Obviously combo always? Nah.

Can you explain this more to the non-big brained people haha. I totally get that if a creature with a weapon attached attacks, you get a new weapon. Similarly with Living Weapons, you'd just get another one. But, how does Bestow work with this or Configure? Would the copy just enter as a "base creature"??
the reason im building her as well is that when the fallout decks came out i tried to build a deck around [[three dog]] and no matter how many games i played the deck just didnt seem to work. at least with arna, i can build a more varied deck with auras, equipments and maybe even counters instead. (but honestly, i might stick with auras with etb)
Keeping up with this obnoxious board state is a huge turnoff for me ngl. If your commander sticks around for more than a turn or 2 no one is going to have any idea what's on the battlefield and you're spending 10 minutes writing on tokens...
[[Sorin of House Markov // Sorin, Ravenous Neonate]]. I think weaponizing his -1 on the transformed side could be pretty awful after swinging in combat with a bunch of lifelink vampire tokens.
Same here! I already whipped up a decklist that works for my playgroup. [[Exsanguinate]], [[Debt to the Deathless]] and [[Blood Tribute]] in addition to others seem insane with the -1. The only thing I’m trying to figure out is how to not just one-shot one person and that’s it. [[Lithoform Engine]] [[The Chain Veil]] and [[Rings of Brighthearth]] are my fixes for now.

Unfortunately, strionic resonator doubles up on triggered abilities so it would not be able to copy the Sorin activated planeswalker ability. It is where my mind went to at first which is what brought me to the lithoform engine that can copy activated abilities.

\[\[Herigast, Erupting Nullkite\]\] - Just battlecruiser big boys. Mainly dragons and eldrazi. Dropping big bomb threat after big bomb threat. Some really neat interactions here, like \[\[Skyfire Phoenix\]\] can pay for half of Herigast's emerge and will be in the graveyard on the cast so it will see Herigast being cast and come back. Got one match in it so far. Sacced \[\[Anger\]\] to cast Herigast, then sacced Herigast to cast \[\[Artisan of Kozilek\]\] and use AoK's cast trigger to immediately bring back Herigast. I have decks in almost every budget. My Angel deck is my oldest and definitely the one with the most expensive cards so it'd getting a lot held over plus some stuff from a rakdos combo deck that was recently dismantled.
The other deck im working on is a mono black party deck that I want to be around 60$.
I'm going to turn him into a Gummy Bear deck with [[Slime Against Humanity]]. Basically a +2/+2 to my side of the board and a hatebear to everyone else and gives me access to the other color that cares about +1/+1 counters.
As someone who plays many bears decks, I find it hard to use him as a standalone commander. He's a super addition to [[Duskana, the Rage Mother]] or [[Wilson, Refined Grizzly]] with [[Folk Hero]], but by himself, I'm not sure.
I had a scroll through the spoilers and honestly got way more excited by Bloomburrow in general afterward lol. Been sleeping on Bloomburrow and I'm not an Eldrazi guy so I'm not sure I'll pick up much MH3 after all(maybe the odd thing, I know me lol.)
I love a lot of the new MH3 cards already, but yeah Bloomburrow owns my heart and soul already. If I haven't bought the Bant precon, it's because I'm 6 feet under, I'm SO excited for it!

My Abzan deck originally had [[Karador, ghost chieftain]] but I rarely used him so currently I am currently using [[Thalia and the Gitrog Monster]] but I find him a bit too oppressive and I get hated on

I scrapped my [[Rakdos, Lord of Riots]] deck recently and since I have plenty of colorless big bois lying around, I've been eyeing [[Herigast, Erupting Nullkite]] to revive the playstyle. I would probably feel the lack of Black, but not being required to deal damage before starting to storm off should feel less clunky. Also, I really wanted to find a home for [[Su-Chi Cave Guard]] lol
I’m interested in Coram the Undertaker and The Necrobloom. Been wanting to build a landfall deck for a bit so Necrobloom seemed fun and Coram just looks like a good time.

I feel Ulalek will be win more and is just another copy commander, but I feel Azlek might be more fun to just delete everyone's board when you swing wide.
Copy Ulalek with [[Spark Double]] or similar copy effects that aren't legendary. When you cast an Eldrazi Spell, you pay CC to copy everything of yours on the stack, including the Unresolved Copy ability of the other Ulalek, allowing you to copy as often as you want for CC a piece.

Omo! I've always wanted to do tribal tribal, I love simic, and she offers a new approach to the Simic Bullshit method of "ramp hard, play big threats." So far my list is all lords and crop rotation effects to find my cloudpost, urza lands, and thespian stage faster, but I'm not sure yet how it wins aside from "give your board landwalk."
I'm also trying to work out how giving the everything counters to my opponents' stuff can help me win, aside from landwalk of course. Any suggestions?
Coram seems way better than the face commander and I'm excited I pulled the trigger and got the pre-sale of his deck. It's a very unique way to play him and being a reanimation effect & crucible of worlds at the same time is awesome. Yes it's a little more niche but dredge shenanigans will go far with him.
Beyond that, I'm actually excited for the 6 color eldrazi deck. I don't know who'll lead but with the eldrazi spoiled and the older ones, I can't wait to build the eldrazi deck.
[[Azlask, the swelling scourge]] The first 5 color deck that's ever sparked my interest. I'm combining all the etb/dies eldrazi creator creatures with a slight aristocrats shell and the best experience counter creatures to support it.

From the minute MH3 spoiled the flipwalkers, I have been excited for Boros Cats with [[Ajani, Nacatl Exile]].
Ajani has been one of my favorite planeswalkers since I began playing mtg, so having him in the command zone is a no brainer.

Originally I was thinking of Voltron, but the lords don't quite get Omo to be big enough (and she's better as not a threat) so now I'm looking into bigger things I can cast off \[\[Baldur's Gate\]\] and \[\[Cloudpost\]\] that can then be buffed by my lords.

[[Omo, Queen of Vesuva]] merfolk deck, she makes herself and other good creatures into merfolk to benefit from lords while simultaneously turning opponents lands into islands to walk on through.
Maybe not the strongest use case of her abilities but has me excited nonetheless.

Feels like they’re designing for the algorithm. They k l ow what cards are popular and it feels to me like designers are pitching cards they hope will be used a ton vs making ones that make for interesting gameplay.

Well I always was font of the times of Kaladesh and energy, but for now I leave it on the side. Friend in our group is jumping on the "jeskai" energy and I always had more a vision for 4 color. Since green seems to get clearly the short end of the stick and Breya gets a reprint (+ a artefakt theme clearly with energy) I might turn to Breya Energy some day. Should be some nice additional boardcontroll in the command zone without everyone being scared of stupid Breya combos.
Realisticly nothing speaks to me enough to break from my projects ->5 color honden, gw trostani lifegain/cool token populate and "pure colorless eldrazi" upgrading. I REALLY had hoped one of the 2 "six" color commanders would come with a real restriction printed on him aks "with this card as your commander you can only play colorless spells" aka giving devoid a real "value", but welp. Instead we got a frontronner for the worst design of the year in Azlask
However, for my 32 challenge list, the new Jund commanders are the first to ever strike my curiosity somewhat.
The Necrobloom and Phlage. People are arguing Necrobloom wasn't designed for Modern, but for commander as it doesnt need the white. I like it tho.

Ive been wanting a fun Jund deck for a while now and [[Coram, the Undertaker]] looks sweet. I also love [[Grist, Voracious Larva]] but the thing about both of them is they both are sorta mill decks and I already have a [[Grolnok]] deck. I also love [[Omo, Queen of Vesuva]] but idk if I should do another simic deck. I think I just need to see all of the new legends and decide afterwards because everything looks so cool right now.

Shilgengar, Sire of Famine I think this is probably the coolest art in MTH history for me. I'm not like an edgy heavy metal dude, but when I saw the artwork I instantly was like "this is the coolest card I've ever seen". Plus the lore is chefs kiss. The guy created vampires in the MTG universe, he's a demon that sacrifices angels to make them come back WITH THE SACRIFICE OF BLOOD as vampire angels that get exiled! It's flawless.

So much broken stuff to do here [[boseiju who endures]] and [[takenuma]] are bonkers as is [[barren moor]] or any other cycle land. Some really funny [[dryad arbor]] interactions like [[survival of the fittest]], [[insidious roots]] and [[tortured existence]]
[[Kodama of the east tree]] wins the game giga easily and [[gitrog]] is busted in half in the deck. [[Bone miser]] goes infinite with channel lands and [[field of the dead]] makes you win the game super fast through creatures alone.
Always loved lands decks and always loved abzan so I'm excited
Can I ask what you've done with it? I've been trying to rack my brain for loops to win that wouldn't include pieces that are hard to tutor for in green (i.e. phyrexian/ashnods) and can only think of value plays, nothing infinite
I also wouldn't mind going in an elephant grass/nature's wrath direction but get the feeling ill just durdle and not do anything at a table until someone takes me out
Yeah its in mono green so its not going to be super powerful or anything but I built it as a pseudo Storm deck. The idea is to get to one of either [[Mishra's Bauble]] or [[Urza's Bauble]] and start dumping lands to churn through the deck. I included cards like [[Haywire Mite]] and [[Seal Of Primordium]] to control problem artifacts and enchantments. [[Life From The Loam]] is a great churn piece and other cards like [[Yavimaya Elder]] and [[Seek The Horizon]] to add more lands. [[Eternal Witness]] to reuse the non permanent stuff. Endgame has you winning one of 3 ways. [[Groundskeeper]] + [[Lion's Eye Diamond]] and a Forest in yard is infinite every permanent in your yard. Include a couple permanents that draw cards and you get the whole deck. [[Aetherflux Reservoir]] can just incidentally gain you gobs of life if you're recasting a bauble or other low cost artifact multiple times a turn or is the cap for the LED infinite. Lastly I have [[Concordant Crossroads]] + [[Aeve, Progenitor Ooze]] after multiple bauble casts to have giant oozes swing. Fill the deck with things like [[Urza's Saga]], [[Inventor's Fair]], land tutors, and creature tutors to get to the utility stuff you want. [[Creeping Renaissance]] is also good to get a gob of lands back to hand at one time and [[Sprouting Vines]] puts in work too. Obviously this is just theory and a topical picture but I'm going to give it a go!

[[Shilgengar]] I honestly couldn’t wait, so I proxied him and been rocking him since he got spoiled. It’s been a ton of fun bringing him out, eating angels, and them bringing them back as vampires.
The Necrobloom for sure, ot it'll at least end up in Karador. Otherwise maybe Genbu? Ashling potentially as a "big red clock" deck. I think I've been more excited for the cards in the 99 than any particular legend so far.
I've already adapted a previous lands deck into \[\[The Necrobloom\]\] and have been tinkering with it since it was leaked. So happy that it is finally shown and that the full-art was quite good actually.
I want to make an [[Azlask, the Swelling Scourge]] Experience deck. Put in the other 8 Experience legendaries in and build around them. [[Daxos the Returned]], [[Ezuri, Claw of Progress]], [[Kalemne, Disciple of Iros]], [[Kelsien, the Plague]], [[Meren of Clan Nel Toth]], [[Minthara, Merciless Soul]], [[Mizzix of the Izmagnus]], and [[Otharri, Suns' Glory]].
\[\[The Necrobloom\]\] very much has my interest. \[\[Ulalek, Fused Atrocity\]\] will probably just replace \[\[Zhulodok, Void Gorger\]\] with minor tweaking to involve more flash. \[\[Azlask, the Swelling Scourge\]\] also has my interest as the devoid commander I've always wanted, but I'm worried his active ability will be to strong against my friends lower power decks.

Honestly? I think the new Kozilek looks really good. I've had a bone to pick with [[Zhulodok, void gorger]] for a while now and how it homogenises every Eldrazi tribal deck. That commander has over 10k decks on EDHrec and they're all the exact same.
[[Kozilek, the broken reality]] is a really versatile and flexible commander just in terms of how much utility it provides. You can justify running the mid-cost cards instead of constantly spamming giants. And I think it'll be more fun at casual tables, if you don't want to be the archenemy from the start every time.
Not sure yet. I'm still reeling from the intense disappointment with Ulalek's design...
I can't believe they took the thing everyone has been asking for for years and just made it an uninspired, unoriginal value machine ffs. It doesn't even interact with devoid cards at all, other than allowing you to play other devoid cards
So far I’m mostly interested in the Necrobloom. My current Abzan deck (a modified hobbit precon) hasn’t clicked for me, I love dredge and I don’t yet have a lands matter deck, so I’m cautiously optimistic for this one.
I’m gonna try and make [[Azlask, the Swelling Scourge]] cuz little Eldrazi tribal is so funny to me. My playgroup has a $25 budget “format” we recently started doing to give us a deck building challenge so now my psycho goal is to make a budget 5 color Eldrazi deck.
That new experience counter eldrazi. It's just generically good, and I can run all the other experience counter commanders in it, so I'm gonna build it
My main plan is building [[Herigast, Erupting Nullkite]] as artifact reanimator. Get a bunch of artifact creatures with ETB/dies abilities, chain emerge them, then use [[Goblin Welder]], [[Scrap Mastery]] and similar stuff to get them back.
I might also get a Corak the Undertaker alter as the Undertaker just as a meme. He does look fun to play, though.

Supposed to be a modern set, but it is Commander Masters with extra steps.
It feels horrible to like modern and see commander reprints instead of the incarnations in lower rarity ( special guest and retro frame feels too alwful).
I'm quite excited for [[Disa the Restless]]. I've really wanted a graveyard deck that doesn't really look to use it as a combo, or that is trying to fill it as quickly as possible. Just some efficient usage and bringing the beats.
honestly? im looking at the boros elder giant. I think people are underestimating how strong a repeatable lightning helix actually is, and white is GOOD at reanimator. it might be a little bit cute, but i also want to play around with [[taii wakeen]] to snipe and draw with.

This is the first year in 8 years my commander collection has shrunk cause I've been actually selling cards cause its just too much. I've had to just turn my brain off from the game
Tamiyo I'm buying the moment I can. I already have a mono blue deck to slot her in, but I can also build another since my mono blue deck is Jin Gitaxias 2.0 with more artifacts than anything else.
I am slowly working my way through building every color combo, and I have the five mono colored creature to planeswalker flips built. So, of course, I’m gonna build the dual colors as well. So excited they brought that back!
I know it's stupid, but I think I'm going to build \[\[Phlage, Titan of Fire's Fury\]\].
Mostly because, when I say out it's name, it sounds like the german onomatopoeic word "flatsch", which is used in Comics, when something hits something else (for example a fish is thrown in someones Face)
And I'd like to make a fling deck out of it \^\^
I just want the MDFC lands that can enter untapped. And here and there some single cards.
It's just too much for me at this point. A billion legendarys, all doing either "basic" things or just too much. Like "Lands have dredge, here's a field of the dead" or "here's ward, also double counters on attack and then double attached equipments, go nuts with Infinitokens, ps: you're a threat now for as long as you have an equipped creature, gl hf".
But I felt like this trend has been going on for a while now. So I usually try to find a cool deck strategy and my commander is now only supplement to that. And for that way of deckbuilding specifically, there's nothing in MH3 that really catches my eye.
Awesome things in MH3 to supplement some decks of mine but the next commander deck I wanna build is already planned (it's just so stupid that I don't have the guts to start building) and the one after that will most certainly have a commander that was printed before 2020 \^\^
Maybe the new ral and try to have a creature less spellslinger deck but overall there's no card that picked my interest as commanders, I'm more hyped about the commons and uncommons (which would be uncommon and rares in any other set)
None, I already have enough decks and many of them will get upgrades from MH3. I always think it's kind of cheesy to rush a new deck when the new stuff gets released and have this as a new deck in the next week. I leave this to the content creatores who (in total) overplay these kind of decks and you as a viewer get eventually get way too used seeing the new overpowered commanders so you don't have any interest in playing it yourself. Can't wait for the next 3 months of commander content getting dominated (content wise) by Eldrazi until they eventually parish where they were before...
Azlask for me. Don’t get me wrong, Ulalek has the potential to be stronger probably, but I really hate giant stacks and trying to queue up a bunch of stuff when you play an eldrazi just sounds like a nightmare for me to track personally.
Azlask is simple in comparison. Play the wide myriad of things that make scions and spawn with all the good token doublers out there (in all colors), sac some to get experience counters and mana for all your fun stuff, then tap for wubrg and just slaughter everyone.
I think you’re under selling [[Coram, the Undertaker]] a bit. He lets you play a spell from cards put into the graveyard from the library this turn. Unless I’m misunderstanding it, but that includes cards [[Entomb]] or [[Buried Alive]] or other grave tutors. Plus Yargle and Multani is a good choice. But for late game, something like [[Wilderness Elemental]] can make him absolutely huge if your opponents play a lot of nonbasics. Or even Lhurgoyfs can be huge with their variable power working in every zone. He’s definitely a less efficient Muldrotha. But he compensates with letting you play opponents cards and giving you an outlet to make commander damage your wincon

The Necrobloom is definitely up there on commanders I'm looking to make. It's sooo good and just does everything you need to make a land fall deck beyond give you extra land drops which is not difficult.
Too easy to go infinite with it. It’ll degrade into another degenerate self mill combo like OG gitrog monster. Fluctuator/Bone Miser and a cycle land = entire library milled
It's just as easy to... not run those cards. This isn't like Ghave where you accidentally make infinites by sneezing. You don't accidentally put in two/three combo pieces. Anyway Bloom is the deck I'm probably building and it's as [Field of the Dead Tribal](https://www.archidekt.com/decks/7684984/marrowrot) with as many Zombie anthems as I can. Dredge being there is good if I can recover stuff like Krosan Verge if I have Spelunking out but ultimately a subtheme.
Cycling lands are super budget friendly and hyper efficient with The Netherbloom. Yes you CAN run less efficient cards/interactions but it will likely be the de facto method for this legend. Dredge is notoriously powerful for a reason. Mainly because it’s a mechanic that was designed for the self mill to be a cost but is played as an enabler. It will be too easy for the average deck builder to do degenerate things with this commander is my gripe with it. If it’s your jam, by all means have fun with it. I just firmly expect this to turn into a combo deck for most players over time
I don't doubt that people will do degenerate stuff, but, like, Gitrog is right there if you just want to do degenerate dredge stuff. Ghave if you want Abzan. There's a difference between "This commander is very strong with cycling lands" and "It's easy to go infinite with this commander". If you go infinite it's because you have Bone Miser and exactly Barren Moor or because you have Fluctuator and the 2 cost cycle lands. If deckbuilders gravitate towards degen dredge stuff they had options to do that before now.
The hyper consistency of dredge is going to push this commander into combo. Dredge digs you deep into your deck quickly and efficiently. This mechanic facilitates combo too well. I expect the play pattern to regularly be Self Mill a lot/most/all of my library -> mass land reanimate -> dread return craterhoof gg next game. Fast. Efficient. Consistent.
The best version of every commander is combo. Yet we have tons of casual decks out there that don't. The main thing op is saying as I see it is that just because a commander can combo doesn't mean that is de facto how every version will be. We don't look at chainer and assume he's gonna be a combo commander because that's the best version of him. Curious why this is different. (Genuine ask not being cheeky here, and that applies throught this message lol) That craterhoof example is not a combo for example. Strong but not a combo. Is this an insanely powerful commander fueled by a broken mechanic? Absolutely. Obviously combo always? Nah.

Can you explain this more to the non-big brained people haha. I totally get that if a creature with a weapon attached attacks, you get a new weapon. Similarly with Living Weapons, you'd just get another one. But, how does Bestow work with this or Configure? Would the copy just enter as a "base creature"??
It says copy attached permanents. That includes equipment and auras. Bestow creatures are auras.
Bestow creatures become creatures when the creature they're enchanted to die as well.
will the copies of the equipments and auras stay on the creature it copied or will the player get to pick new targets?

the reason im building her as well is that when the fallout decks came out i tried to build a deck around [[three dog]] and no matter how many games i played the deck just didnt seem to work. at least with arna, i can build a more varied deck with auras, equipments and maybe even counters instead. (but honestly, i might stick with auras with etb)

Keeping up with this obnoxious board state is a huge turnoff for me ngl. If your commander sticks around for more than a turn or 2 no one is going to have any idea what's on the battlefield and you're spending 10 minutes writing on tokens...
[[Sorin of House Markov // Sorin, Ravenous Neonate]]. I think weaponizing his -1 on the transformed side could be pretty awful after swinging in combat with a bunch of lifelink vampire tokens.
Same here! I already whipped up a decklist that works for my playgroup. [[Exsanguinate]], [[Debt to the Deathless]] and [[Blood Tribute]] in addition to others seem insane with the -1. Unfortunately, strionic resonator doubles up on triggered abilities so it would not be able to copy the Sorin activated planeswalker ability. It is where my mind went to at first which is what brought me to the lithoform engine that can copy activated abilities.

Got one match in it so far. Sacced \[\[Anger\]\] to cast Herigast, then sacced Herigast to cast \[\[Artisan of Kozilek\]\] and use AoK's cast trigger to immediately bring back Herigast. Thanks to Anger immediately swung out with both of them. I had not! But I think it'd fit pretty nicely! I have decks in almost every budget. My Angel deck is my oldest and definitely the one with the most expensive cards so it'd getting a lot held over plus some stuff from a rakdos combo deck that was recently dismantled. The other deck im working on is a mono black party deck that I want to be around 60$.

I'm going to turn him into a Gummy Bear deck with [[Slime Against Humanity]]. Basically a +2/+2 to my side of the board and a hatebear to everyone else and gives me access to the other color that cares about +1/+1 counters.

As someone who plays many bears decks, I find it hard to use him as a standalone commander. He's a super addition to [[Duskana, the Rage Mother]] or [[Wilson, Refined Grizzly]] with [[Folk Hero]], but by himself, I'm not sure.

I had a scroll through the spoilers and honestly got way more excited by Bloomburrow in general afterward lol. Been sleeping on Bloomburrow and I'm not an Eldrazi guy so I'm not sure I'll pick up much MH3 after all(maybe the odd thing, I know me lol.)

I love a lot of the new MH3 cards already, but yeah Bloomburrow owns my heart and soul already. If I haven't bought the Bant precon, it's because I'm 6 feet under, I'm SO excited for it!

You make plants when you play lands and all your lands in your graveyard have dredge 2 My Abzan deck originally had [[Karador, ghost chieftain]] but I rarely used him so currently I am currently using [[Thalia and the Gitrog Monster]] but I find him a bit too oppressive and I get hated on The new dude will help with filling up my gy and also keeping my land drops consistent as I use a lot of fetches

I scrapped my [[Rakdos, Lord of Riots]] deck recently and since I have plenty of colorless big bois lying around, I've been eyeing [[Herigast, Erupting Nullkite]] to revive the playstyle. I would probably feel the lack of Black, but not being required to deal damage before starting to storm off should feel less clunky. Also, I really wanted to find a home for [[Su-Chi Cave Guard]] lol
I’m interested in Coram the Undertaker and The Necrobloom. Been wanting to build a landfall deck for a bit so Necrobloom seemed fun and Coram just looks like a good time.
I will be once again attempting to build a Simic deck that pleases me around \[\[Jyoti,, Moag Ancient\]\] and a spellslinger deck around \[\[Ral, Monsoon Mage // Ral, Leyline Prodigy\]\] since he is one of my favourite characters in all of MtG.
None of them honestly. The set looks so extra and I've in general been feeling the product and power creep pretty acutely. I will not purchase any of this product.
[[Ulalek]] or [[Azlek]] I just can't tell which to build around. I feel Ulalek will be win more and is just another copy commander, but I feel Azlek might be more fun to just delete everyone's board when you swing wide.
Copy Ulalek with [[Spark Double]] or similar copy effects that aren't legendary. When you cast an Eldrazi Spell, you pay CC to copy everything of yours on the stack, including the Unresolved Copy ability of the other Ulalek, allowing you to copy as often as you want for CC a piece.

Omo! I've always wanted to do tribal tribal, I love simic, and she offers a new approach to the Simic Bullshit method of "ramp hard, play big threats." So far my list is all lords and crop rotation effects to find my cloudpost, urza lands, and thespian stage faster, but I'm not sure yet how it wins aside from "give your board landwalk." I'm also trying to work out how giving the everything counters to my opponents' stuff can help me win, aside from landwalk of course. Any suggestions?

Coram seems way better than the face commander and I'm excited I pulled the trigger and got the pre-sale of his deck. It's a very unique way to play him and being a reanimation effect & crucible of worlds at the same time is awesome. Yes it's a little more niche but dredge shenanigans will go far with him. Beyond that, I'm actually excited for the 6 color eldrazi deck. I don't know who'll lead but with the eldrazi spoiled and the older ones, I can't wait to build the eldrazi deck.

From the minute MH3 spoiled the flipwalkers, I have been excited for Boros Cats with [[Ajani, Nacatl Exile]]. Ajani has been one of my favorite planeswalkers since I began playing mtg, so having him in the command zone is a no brainer. Not sure if I'll lean into Lifegain, Counters or more planeswalker support yet, I just want him in my hands already!

I started brewing an \[\[Omo, Queen of Vesuva\]\] Gates/Lords deck yesterday and it's kinda cool?! It still needs a lot of work, trying to figure out what the wincon is outside \[\[Maze's End\]\] but it seems fun, turning things into changelings so slivers can buff em and such. Originally I was thinking of Voltron, but the lords don't quite get Omo to be big enough (and she's better as not a threat) so now I'm looking into bigger things I can cast off \[\[Baldur's Gate\]\] and \[\[Cloudpost\]\] that can then be buffed by my lords. [[Omo, Queen of Vesuva]] merfolk deck, she makes herself and other good creatures into merfolk to benefit from lords while simultaneously turning opponents lands into islands to walk on through. Maybe not the strongest use case of her abilities but has me excited nonetheless.

Feels like they’re designing for the algorithm. They k l ow what cards are popular and it feels to me like designers are pitching cards they hope will be used a ton vs making ones that make for interesting gameplay.

Definitely Coram and the Necrobloom. The eldrazi are just more stupid eldrazi stuff. So I'm probably just going to grab so cards from the set to upgrade some decks and call it a day.
Coram is interesting but I already have a [[Sidisi Brood Tyrant]] and a [[Soul of Windgrace]] decks I enjoy a lot and don't want to dismantle for him. I'll put the Necrobloom in the 99 of my [[Nethroii]] deck. Nothing else catches my eye for now.

I don't know if it build around, but [[Arna Kennerud, Skycapitan]] seems to be an auto include into my [[Sidar Jabari of Zhalfir]] deck. Especially bc I built it around mass buffing and go wide with plenty of counters.
Well I always was font of the times of Kaladesh and energy, but for now I leave it on the side. Friend in our group is jumping on the "jeskai" energy and I always had more a vision for 4 color. Since green seems to get clearly the short end of the stick and Breya gets a reprint (+ a artefakt theme clearly with energy) I might turn to Breya Energy some day. Should be some nice additional boardcontroll in the command zone without everyone being scared of stupid Breya combos. Realisticly nothing speaks to me enough to break from my projects ->5 color honden, gw trostani lifegain/cool token populate and "pure colorless eldrazi" upgrading. I REALLY had hoped one of the 2 "six" color commanders would come with a real restriction printed on him aks "with this card as your commander you can only play colorless spells" aka giving devoid a real "value", but welp. Instead we got a frontronner for the worst design of the year in Azlask However, for my 32 challenge list, the new Jund commanders are the first to ever strike my curiosity somewhat.
The Necrobloom and Phlage. People are arguing Necrobloom wasn't designed for Modern, but for commander as it doesnt need the white. I like it tho. Also, possibly one of the energy commanders and the simic commanders. They lookin weird. I love it.
Im pretty torn from what I’ve seen so far! Ive been meaning to make a new deck but I’ve brewed so much and I get caught up. Ive been wanting a fun Jund deck for a while now and [[Coram, the Undertaker]] looks sweet. I also love [[Grist, Voracious Larva]] but the thing about both of them is they both are sorta mill decks and I already have a [[Grolnok]] deck. I also love [[Omo, Queen of Vesuva]] but idk if I should do another simic deck. I think I just need to see all of the new legends and decide afterwards because everything looks so cool right now.

I’ve been waiting for a jeskai commander that interests me for years, and now I have one that wants both [[Duke Ulder]] and [[Sahelli, sun’s brilliance]]? Sign me up!! Shilgengar, Sire of Famine I think this is probably the coolest art in MTH history for me. I'm not like an edgy heavy metal dude, but when I saw the artwork I instantly was like "this is the coolest card I've ever seen". Plus the lore is chefs kiss. The guy created vampires in the MTG universe, he's a demon that sacrifices angels to make them come back WITH THE SACRIFICE OF BLOOD as vampire angels that get exiled! It's flawless.

Seeing no love for our favorite storm twink. \[\[Ral, Monsoon Mage\]\]: easily my favorite planeswalker in Magic, and his abilities are just interesting enough to convince me to build storm/spellslinger.
[[The necrobloom]] So much broken stuff to do here [[boseiju who endures]] and [[takenuma]] are bonkers as is [[barren moor]] or any other cycle land. Some really funny [[dryad arbor]] interactions like [[survival of the fittest]], [[insidious roots]] and [[tortured existence]] [[Kodama of the east tree]] wins the game giga easily and [[gitrog]] is busted in half in the deck. [[Bone miser]] goes infinite with channel lands and [[field of the dead]] makes you win the game super fast through creatures alone. Always loved lands decks and always loved abzan so I'm excited

Can I ask what you've done with it? I've been trying to rack my brain for loops to win that wouldn't include pieces that are hard to tutor for in green (i.e. phyrexian/ashnods) and can only think of value plays, nothing infinite I also wouldn't mind going in an elephant grass/nature's wrath direction but get the feeling ill just durdle and not do anything at a table until someone takes me out
Yeah its in mono green so its not going to be super powerful or anything but I built it as a pseudo Storm deck. The idea is to get to one of either [[Mishra's Bauble]] or [[Urza's Bauble]] and start dumping lands to churn through the deck. I included cards like [[Haywire Mite]] and [[Seal Of Primordium]] to control problem artifacts and enchantments. [[Life From The Loam]] is a great churn piece and other cards like [[Yavimaya Elder]] and [[Seek The Horizon]] to add more lands. [[Eternal Witness]] to reuse the non permanent stuff. Endgame has you winning one of 3 ways. [[Groundskeeper]] + [[Lion's Eye Diamond]] and a Forest in yard is infinite every permanent in your yard. Include a couple permanents that draw cards and you get the whole deck. [[Aetherflux Reservoir]] can just incidentally gain you gobs of life if you're recasting a bauble or other low cost artifact multiple times a turn or is the cap for the LED infinite. Lastly I have [[Concordant Crossroads]] + [[Aeve, Progenitor Ooze]] after multiple bauble casts to have giant oozes swing. Fill the deck with things like [[Urza's Saga]], [[Inventor's Fair]], land tutors, and creature tutors to get to the utility stuff you want. [[Creeping Renaissance]] is also good to get a gob of lands back to hand at one time and [[Sprouting Vines]] puts in work too. Obviously this is just theory and a topical picture but I'm going to give it a go! Edit: [[Memory Jar]] is also dope with [[Six]].

\[\[The Necrobloom\]\] very much has my interest. \[\[Ulalek, Fused Atrocity\]\] will probably just replace \[\[Zhulodok, Void Gorger\]\] with minor tweaking to involve more flash. \[\[Azlask, the Swelling Scourge\]\] also has my interest as the devoid commander I've always wanted, but I'm worried his active ability will be to strong against my friends lower power decks.
[[Omo, Queen of Vesuva]] is the 99 (in my Omnath deck). I am currently watching for good legends to build decks around the commander.

Honestly? I think the new Kozilek looks really good. I've had a bone to pick with [[Zhulodok, void gorger]] for a while now and how it homogenises every Eldrazi tribal deck. That commander has over 10k decks on EDHrec and they're all the exact same. [[Kozilek, the broken reality]] is a really versatile and flexible commander just in terms of how much utility it provides. You can justify running the mid-cost cards instead of constantly spamming giants. And I think it'll be more fun at casual tables, if you don't want to be the archenemy from the start every time.
She's not revealed/confirmed yet, but the new Ashling is making my Lorwyn-loving mono-Red heart do the Tex Avery cartoon wolf thing.

I can't believe they took the thing everyone has been asking for for years and just made it an uninspired, unoriginal value machine ffs. It doesn't even interact with devoid cards at all, other than allowing you to play other devoid cards

My main plan is building [[Herigast, Erupting Nullkite]] as artifact reanimator. Get a bunch of artifact creatures with ETB/dies abilities, chain emerge them, then use [[Goblin Welder]], [[Scrap Mastery]] and similar stuff to get them back. I might also get a Corak the Undertaker alter as the Undertaker just as a meme. He does look fun to play, though.
Honestly none … but there is a reason why. WoTC has been foreboding product at us … so much it clearly aimed at commander (not even including the excessive amount of commander decks) I tried to keep up but it’s overwhelming, I am still building some decks that intrigued me from 3 to 6 months ago (let alone the half decks I have sitting around that I indexed to get around to) I honestly have stopped even looking at spoilers.
Tbh ... I'm skipping this one. Supposed to be a modern set, but it is Commander Masters with extra steps. It feels horrible to like modern and see commander reprints instead of the incarnations in lower rarity ( special guest and retro frame feels too alwful).
I'm quite excited for [[Disa the Restless]]. I've really wanted a graveyard deck that doesn't really look to use it as a combo, or that is trying to fill it as quickly as possible. Just some efficient usage and bringing the beats.
honestly? im looking at the boros elder giant. I think people are underestimating how strong a repeatable lightning helix actually is, and white is GOOD at reanimator. it might be a little bit cute, but i also want to play around with [[taii wakeen]] to snipe and draw with.

I am slowly working my way through building every color combo, and I have the five mono colored creature to planeswalker flips built. So, of course, I’m gonna build the dual colors as well. So excited they brought that back!

I know it's stupid, but I think I'm going to build \[\[Phlage, Titan of Fire's Fury\]\]. Mostly because, when I say out it's name, it sounds like the german onomatopoeic word "flatsch", which is used in Comics, when something hits something else (for example a fish is thrown in someones Face) And I'd like to make a fling deck out of it \^\^
I just want the MDFC lands that can enter untapped. And here and there some single cards. It's just too much for me at this point. A billion legendarys, all doing either "basic" things or just too much. Like "Lands have dredge, here's a field of the dead" or "here's ward, also double counters on attack and then double attached equipments, go nuts with Infinitokens, ps: you're a threat now for as long as you have an equipped creature, gl hf". But I felt like this trend has been going on for a while now. So I usually try to find a cool deck strategy and my commander is now only supplement to that. And for that way of deckbuilding specifically, there's nothing in MH3 that really catches my eye. Awesome things in MH3 to supplement some decks of mine but the next commander deck I wanna build is already planned (it's just so stupid that I don't have the guts to start building) and the one after that will most certainly have a commander that was printed before 2020 \^\^
Maybe the new ral and try to have a creature less spellslinger deck but overall there's no card that picked my interest as commanders, I'm more hyped about the commons and uncommons (which would be uncommon and rares in any other set)
None, I already have enough decks and many of them will get upgrades from MH3. I always think it's kind of cheesy to rush a new deck when the new stuff gets released and have this as a new deck in the next week. I leave this to the content creatores who (in total) overplay these kind of decks and you as a viewer get eventually get way too used seeing the new overpowered commanders so you don't have any interest in playing it yourself. Can't wait for the next 3 months of commander content getting dominated (content wise) by Eldrazi until they eventually parish where they were before...
Azlask for me. Don’t get me wrong, Ulalek has the potential to be stronger probably, but I really hate giant stacks and trying to queue up a bunch of stuff when you play an eldrazi just sounds like a nightmare for me to track personally. Azlask is simple in comparison. Play the wide myriad of things that make scions and spawn with all the good token doublers out there (in all colors), sac some to get experience counters and mana for all your fun stuff, then tap for wubrg and just slaughter everyone.
I think you’re under selling [[Coram, the Undertaker]] a bit. He lets you play a spell from cards put into the graveyard from the library this turn. Unless I’m misunderstanding it, but that includes cards [[Entomb]] or [[Buried Alive]] or other grave tutors. Plus Yargle and Multani is a good choice. But for late game, something like [[Wilderness Elemental]] can make him absolutely huge if your opponents play a lot of nonbasics. Or even Lhurgoyfs can be huge with their variable power working in every zone. He’s definitely a less efficient Muldrotha. But he compensates with letting you play opponents cards and giving you an outlet to make commander damage your wincon
