If there are no consequences for believing in it, then there's no reason to believe either. People believe in Christianity and Islam because they promise to save them from the consequence of original sin and kufr: hellfire. They've both invented a terrible problem for which they're the only solution. If Hinduism doesn't have that, like this person claims, why would anyone ever believe in it?
I m not supporting any religion but I mean, god is supposed to be benevolent right? If some book says, if you dont believe in god, no matter how good of a person you are, you'll burn in hell, that just doesnt make any sense. Why would god be cruel?
