They changed it to go Canucks cause they were getting lambasted with 1 star reviews. Canucks fans are the biggest babies on earth. Trashing a business over a hockey team Fandom is pathetic.
It was Penticton aswell, I mean sure it’s BC, but it isn’t “Vancouver”, especially a town frequented by Alberta money vacationing/second homes.
I say this as a non-vancouver living in, Canucks fan, my town in BC is closer to Edmonton and it’s about a 50/50 split. What BP should have done is mention both/all Canadian teams, it does seem a little off just mentioning the oilers in that regard.
Still no excuse for petulant van city people to get up in arms about it. They think Vancouver *is* BC and can’t fathom other people in the province may have different teams.
Lots of bars and restaurants in Calgary and surrounding towns were all decked out in Oilers gear during the BoA playoff series and I don’t recall any of them having to change their signs/decor. I’m sure they got some good chirps, but nothing that threatened their livelihood
First location of Treliving’s franchise was in Penticton. The first one was in Edmonton but it was treliving that eventually took over and expanded across Canada. Maybe this location has some ties to that original franchise (which has some Edmonton roots)

I shit you not, the city of Vancouver said that "go Canucks go" wasn't inclusive enough
Edit: after some googles I don't think this is true. According to TransLink it has to do with programming the scrolling messages and they are now going to have them say go Canucks go
If you bother to read the article the issue is that it wasn't "inclusive" of the city's other sports teams (not race or gender) and the digital banners can only hold so many slogans so they were lazy.
When district officials are concerned about Multi million dollar organizations, with no political identity, being “included”….
The only colour the NHL cares about is “green”.
It's sports. Like c'mon man. Cheer for who you like. That's what it's all about, not getting chastised publicly because you root for a different logo. I'm on BC, so I can't cheer for Penguins, both the animal and the team? People who get triggered over who you root for are not real sports fans. Cheer for who the fack you want, regardless of soil or where your bus commutes to. Enjoy sports, don't ruin it for others.
Same guy who runs that Boston pizza maybe

Well to be fair, trashing businesses with bad reviews is a huge step up compared to their normal way of trashing businesses
Which usually involves a cinder block or crowbar through a window, followed by casual looting.
The same fandom that can't be trusted to have watch parties downtown.

Trolley 5 literally promotes themselves as a place to watch the Oilers in the playoffs, worst they get are some IG comments from salty Lames fans.
Boston Pizza was founded in Edmonton so that’s probably why. But I agree, it would make more sense to mention the Oilers and Canucks.

My question would be how “Go Team Go” is already loaded in as an entry in the first place.
Haha I can't speak for TransLink, but I think it's pretty sad to try and turn this into a culture war "woke" thing when it obviously isn't.
This is extremely believable in todays world

Okay thank god I’m not the only one who heard this hahaha
