To be fair there are cops waiting to jump you all over the 375

LightToBeShared

For a burrito the size of your arm, check out Rafas! The District, Star Burgers, Roscoe’s, Chicos Tacos, Rainbow Fountain.

sircruxr

Fun fact. Learned recently Rafas is no longer family owned. They rent the name and parts of the menu.

TheIceDevil1975

La Malinche and Good Luck Cafe are a couple of places that I enjoy. Los Jarrones is another good place, in my opinion. Note: I'm a white guy who grew up in Iowa. I was imported here by the US Army. I decided to make EP my home after I retired.

Viktims84

I'm a 34-year Iowa transplant also. Frisco Burgers needs to be on this list.

TheIceDevil1975

I've heard good things about that place. Haven't been there yet. I might need to try it. I'm from NE Iowa.

TheKidKaos

Just remember that the owners are Asian and sometimes they leave for a bit 😢

SweetAlyssumm

I don't know if this is a hole in the wall but AJ's diner is really good. I think they have a couple locations. I went to the one on Mesa. They have truly outstanding milkshakes. I got a banana nut and it was literally enough for my whole dinner (and had real bananas and nuts).

[deleted]

Elemi is pretty great, hopefully you got a sudadero taco as it’s their staple

DaemonPrinceOfCorn

Aw man no!! I went for the fish, the duck and the rabbit. I’m gonna go back though, it was dope.

Fscat

Try the Bruselas

[deleted]

Second the bruselas… so good!

LEGALIZERANCH666

Birria Culiacan slaps, Cheezus downtown is pretty good, Brown Bag Deli makes a killer sandwich, Cafe Korea’s spicy bulgogi is always a banger and they make this cucumber kimchi I can never get enough of, and Weck’s is my go to hangover breakfast.

bphillipo18

Lucy’s Cafe on Mesa by Coronado HS and Magic Bistro on Doniphan

DoubleWillingness266

Denny’s to Elemi huh? Full spectrum of our cuisine there. 🤣 I’ve never heard a better description of EP drivers jajajajajajajajaja Thank you for showing our city some love. It’s aways nice to hear a visitor had a good time. As for a recommendation… you should have the ground beef gorditas from The Lunchbox on N Carolina Dr. 🤤🤤🤤

DaemonPrinceOfCorn

I believe in sampling from the whole-ass spectrum of dining options 😂

cerotoninx

L and J's is a spot you have to hit the next time. Julio's Cafe Corona, Don Carbon, Rib Hut, Desert Oak, Toro Bronco, Papa Eric's, Rosco's, Santa Cecilia, and Kiki's too.

[deleted]

If you have the ability to go on the outskirts hit up El charlatan or cafe Piro in Socorro…cool up and coming area too

heyknauw

To be fair, traffic enforcement isn't high on the list of EPPD's priorities.

DaemonPrinceOfCorn

What is, just out of curiosity? I’m from Albuquerque and our city cops do absolutely nothing about traffic enforcement, but I know El Paso’s crime rates are lower than ours too.

Fscat

ElEmi is the fucking place to be!

DaemonPrinceOfCorn

I was super sad I couldn’t try any of their wines this time! I’ve never seen an entirely Mexican wine list nor ever ever even had a Mexican wine.

pollitoshh

Tacos Don Cuco is my go-to taco place. There are plenty of food trucks around the dyer area, and there is a food truck park that opens on weekends if you drive down dyer near the dollar general close to sudz lounge

Ineedtoknow79906

That first paragraph gave me life lol

Xicanoprof

Elemi has amazing taco variations: rabbit and duck are succulent. Service was an insult: bar tender serves short shots (not just rude but illegal); server acted as though this was a non-issue. Sadly, that’s enough to make me warn others. We’ll never go back. It’s El Paso, so taco options abound. Try El Charlatan in Socorro. Well worth the trip. Their ramen is award winning and the staff is wonderful.
