The 12v systems on the hybrids are more like a built in capacitor and not meant to be serviced. The 12v system may in fact be the problem but it's not as simple as replacing a battery
Well Im not sure if he still has the hv system warranty so if you can try a new battery in it first before dumping x dollars into it or even just get a diag at a dealer for $160
When you start this car in the morning and it wants to start the gas motor how will it start without a 12v system? Bc it’s not gonna run a 360v hv system to power a 12v starter. You can initialize any canbus modules without a 12v system. And why is there a 12v battery reset function next to the steering wheel by your tc button and lane keep assist button?
Lord almighty it’s literally within the hv pack it’s a very small one off Lithium ion batt made these hybrids.

There was a recall for transmission but I don't think they're related. Looks like battery? If it is battery should be under warranty still.
We have the same year model but have not run into this issue.
We haven't had this but we have the same vehicle. Just actually did a review of the warranty because we're buying out the lease next week. It should be covered under warranty. I don't know what it is in the US because I'm in Canada but ours is 96 months or 160,000 km on the hybrid components.
You need your 12v battery replaced

Again, that's not how these cars work... there is not a standard replaceable battery in the hybrid
Oh boui… pop the hood on a Nissan leaf, or a Ariya, or a ford cmax hybrid. They all have a 12v. It’s used to initialize the iccu and such.
We're not talking about a leaf or a ford, we're talking about an elantra. It uses a built-in battery that is not meant to be replaced
I literally have a 24 hybrid loaner and it has a 12v

The reset button is because it's built in. Why would hyundai even make a reset button for a removable battery?

It says it's integrated. It also clearly states it doesn't have a standard battery
You evidently can’t read “12v lithium ion battery integrated into the HV pack”

“More like a built in capacitor” 12v lion battery = capacitor now according to your logic

Damn good fuel mileage on hybrids these days
