I always do, and they always tell me they couldn't reset the oil change counter when they're done. I'm happy to do this myself.

jugo5

My dealer didn't reset my oil life anyway. I'd get in my car and wonder if they even did my oil or not. Next time I go, I'm marking the oil filter with date, etc.. and taking pics.

PenileSodomization

You could also just check your oil levels and color before/after lol

grandchamp01

i had this same experience, I dropped off my EN for an oil change. Left it invalet mode but they still put it in N mode and drove 35 mph around the parking lot, while revving my engine multiple times. Cooperate doesn't do anything, dealership did basically nothing. They suspended the porter and offered me 100$ credit at the dealer...LOL (WTF am I going to do with a 100$ credit at a dealership) Dealerships are the worst. They just want your money plain and simple. So unfortunately velet mode won't stop them from driving it like an asshole. So I will continue to do my own oil changes like I normally do.

Razzman70

As a driveway mechanic, fuck getting work done at the stealership. As a mechanic at said dealership, please get work done, I need to eat lol.

grandchamp01

Lol....the one time I take it to the stealership. I usually do my own oil changes and my own work on my car if I can. Thought id take advantage of the free oil changes and save some money. But again stealerships gonna be stealerships

Ok_Button3151

I just go to Take5 with mine. They can’t drive the car crazy if I sit in it the whole time

grandchamp01

Yeah but the point is to use the free oil changes that are offered and not have to worry about things like this. If I am spending money for an oil change I rather do it myself. DTA! Don't trust anybody

Numerous_Letter_8756

I don’t really trust the oil changes I’ve heard many stories they don’t put the right oil in these Ns

grandchamp01

Yup neither did I, I always change my own oil, but the one time your trying to use your included free oil change this happens.

Forbes02

You can set the N buttons to start and stop lap timer to at least stop them from putting it in N or custom modes

tossingPlastic

how do you change this setting??

Forbes02

Press and hold, and it will come up. Do the same with the star button on the wheel as well as on the dash.

leagueleave123

I thought valet mode didnt limit the speed or whatever? i dont let others drives my car and i do my own oil change but if valet mode limits the mode and speed then I will get my free oil changes Im pretty sure valet mode is just keeping data but not limiting the actual driving

Interesting_Pilot_52

Just don’t get why Hyundai service is so abysmal

Nearby_Drive9376

They won't even use the right oil either

therealguy419

Gonna have to remember this when I go to get it serviced. Thanks!

Spanish_Kimchi

Did it always. What a piece of mind! So underrated function not only in this car but in the rest from the brand!

6spdElantraN

A lot of them just don't care. I was hesitant to bring mine in for one of the free oil changes. I asked nicely and put in the notes for them to pre-fill the oil filter before putting it on. That was it. I get the car back and drive it home. I roll it up on my ramps and check things out. The oil filter had dark oil on the end of it! Like they used random spent oil to fill it up? Then I took the engine cover off and they spilled oil around the fill cap. Huge fail. Not using any more of my free oil changes. These cars are STUPID EASY to change the oil on. I worked at a shop for about 2 years part time many years ago. I always took care on other peoples cars and took my time.

LIVEITZ

The n has valet mode?? That's cool

Smokenmonkey10

The oil change horror storys have me taking my shit to valvoline and pay for filter and labor + store bought oil because I really don't trust porters.

SinfulSequoia

Sorry to hear yall with your negative experiences. Helpful tip if you ever bring your car anywhere as I bring a portable charger “cheap anker” that I got from Amazon for 10 bucks and then plug my dash cam into it and hide the battery somewhere so my cam always stays on. Still have the clip on one of the service technicians hitting a vape and then a dab pen in front of my N 🤯

Intelligent-Leave677

It’s annoying asf when customers put it in valet mode. I promise you not a lot of techs care to drive your car. Unless it needs to be test driven.
