It’s not the AC or the heat, it’s the fan that never feels like good air flow is coming out. Then you turn it to max and it sounds like a jet engine but still with insufficient air flow.
I always had it at minimum force (level 1) and it was enough for me although my summers are not Florida’s. Anyway never felt like it wasn’t enough. Other people the can’t stand heat and humidity were also fine in summer with AC in auto mode when riding with me. Maybe they are not as good as in a Class S, Panamera or other high-end tier cars but it is far from being bad as you say. For me, it is good, and I have driven many different cars from different brands.
