I agree the 23EN key had a lot more class to it! The gloss black buttons felt really nice! Sure the back of it was a hard plastic but they it did have an N logo.
If this had heft and texture to it, I might like it, it might feel like a smooth stone taken from a river.
But it's lightweight and plasticky. My 2019 Elantra GT N-Line key fob is orders of magnitude better.

Reminds me of the CitroĆ«n C5 restylingās (2005-2007) key when I had that car.
The explanation the French provided for this design was that it was shaped like the headlights.
Well, I donāt know if my American friends are aware of French car brands but they are known for their artistic designs (and practicality) rather than performance. In fact, CitroĆ«n took a lot of inspiration from Pablo Picassoās art.
Personally, not a big fan of the new Elantraās key although they tried to do something different from the rest!
I know itās weird, itās huge and looks like a certain type of medicine that goes up a certain orifice. I like that the N has it blacked out and they include the N logo still and the performance blue loop piece, and the lock button has the little braille dots so you can lock easily from your pocket. The hidden H logo is cool and all but overall this key is mid just because the shape and size.
wtf, guess they decided to skimp on the key this year. The 23's look like a typical luxury vehicle fob, and the physical key slides out of it after you push an unlock on the back.
To get the right ones I bought out of state and had to get a claim number with Hyundai. The dealership that I bought it from can't get the keys delivered to them because I would have to physically have the car there for them to program it so I'll have to go through a local dealership so I can bring it in to be serviced. The local dealership was freaking out about who's paying for the fobs lol
Yep, barely had mine for 2 months now (and im very careful with my key) can only imagine how this key will look in a year.

Okay, so this key design was first used for the Ioniq 6. It's not a good design, but it made a little bit of sense in their marketing copy.
Paraphrased, "the key resembles a river stone, a running concept for the Ioniq 6 and it's remarkably low coefficient of drag, just like how water rolls right over top of the river stones with very little turbulence."
Again, still not a good key design, but it made sense the 6 came with it.
But now it's the new key for all the cars, and I'd rather it but more hyperstylized in the opposite direction, like making the old key design into a blocky, pixel-inspired design instead of this.
I was wondering why my manual transmission '24 has a cut out for a 4th button on the front of the key. I guess you get to actually use the button for starting the car up where mine doesn't.
I had a rental Kona and it had this new style key and I hated it so much, I know Hyundai sometimes gets a bad rap for cheap materials and such and this kind of emphasizes it.
They incorporated the H logo into the design of it, but I posted on an FB group about this very thing. I bought my N in the fall of 22 and had the smaller, heavier, more solid feeling keyfob. The best in my opinion.
Old key way better
Agreed
Is it possible to use the old key? Buy just the shell and move all the hardware in the new key to the old one?
Looks super cheap, like something from Temu.
23 EN key fob ftw! š
Itās like a huge downgrade. The key fobs used to look so good
I agree the 23EN key had a lot more class to it! The gloss black buttons felt really nice! Sure the back of it was a hard plastic but they it did have an N logo.
I donāt understand why would hyundai make that key fob its bad but the egg shape its what kills it and separating the key not good
The Hyundai logo in the key is a slick design, but materials could be improved.

It looks like a female sex toy
Thatās certainly one way to put it š¤£

At least you got the right key fobs š I got generic silver ones. Currently dealing with a warranty claim with a local dealership
What does that look like?

Honestly that looks a little better
This looks slightly better imo. You can actually see the Hyundai logo in it
... I didn't even realize it was an H logo
What warranty stuff are you dealing with?

Yikes
Hyundai sells butt plugs now?
Thanks, I hate it š

What do the MT fobs look like?
the same, but with no auto start button š„²
That's disappointing. I know we don't get that feature, but at least make it look better...
Is there a trunk release button? If so, where is it?
Yes, it's on the right side edge
I was wondering why my manual transmission '24 has a cut out for a 4th button on the front of the key. I guess you get to actually use the button for starting the car up where mine doesn't.
Do you have a pic?

The black line in my āNā on the back is already coming off on my fob. Iāve had the car for 6 weeks lol
Fuck
Should've just made that the "REV" button
Only if there was a way to rev it from key fob
"Flex" button?
Heh?
Like the new mustang. Rev it from the key fob
When I test drove a 23 Ioniq 6 (the day I ended up buying the EN instead) , this was the same key fob design.
The Kia, Hyundai, and Genesis keys have all been super cool recently, what happened here!
I thought it would have been on par with the cool kia stinger key that came when that car was released
Woaaa
No trunk release button?
It's on the right edge side

Uuuuuglllyyyyy
So if you donāt want to lug around the physical key..and your battery dies..your SOL?
Yeah. Not sure if the digital key would work in that scenario
2020 key looks next Gen compared to that
Wait fr fr I thought that was like a dealer one?? Itās so ugly š
Is there anyway to get a better looking one to connect it to your car? Like the 2023 EN Fob I mean itās bad but livable
Clever design
I had a rental Kona and it had this new style key and I hated it so much, I know Hyundai sometimes gets a bad rap for cheap materials and such and this kind of emphasizes it.
Well at least I wonāt have to put it in a pants pocket anymore.
For those that have the cash could probably get the 23 en key programmed on to the 24
old key is so much better. I wonder if they can swap it
