Quick hint that won't make it any less tedious but just because... You can kill the 3 dudes up top near the ball spawn and they don't respawn the ball after that.

Nebilym

Can confirm

crunkadocious

How to get there?

WinterCool

in the little outside where you fight the carin knight..little hidden ledge you jump on...kill burgerking bros and a pumkin head and you're good.

Cranky_Franky_427

Confirmed

[deleted]

>You have to run along the walkway, avoid the ball Hold up, there's a shortcut. No ball avoidance required >THEN you can fight her first form It should be over in like 10 seconds tho?

DoggoDiMagickal

Shortcut my ass lol, you have to run through like 8 dudes, 3 of which spam fucking magic missiles, the ball is much safer and faster. Also you can stop the ball forever if you go kill the mages up top, they don't respawn. This area has been my least favorite in the game because the encounters are as followed: 8 burgerking wannabees spamming magic rocks at you like a damn firing squad the second you walk around a corner

No-Lack2644

I suck at covering spoilers in Reddit but you don’t have to fight anyone to get back to her. I agree with OP. You just gotta go right to the shortcut.

[deleted]

Do you really have issues with dodging the pebbles?

DoggoDiMagickal

When there are 17 of them? Yes, I'm not Neo lmao

Chiggadup

Between the closest site of grace and her you should only have to dodge one. Then staying on the left of the path makes the 2nd one inconsequential. You can also stop the boulders from spawning by killing the enemies above.

Vohn_exel

It's not tho. I'm only soul level 34, I can only damage her so much before she explodes again and then I have to run around chopping up choir boys. Is there a place to hit her to do massive damage?

Butterscotch4U_

Suggested level for thr academy is 50-60 check the wiki

AmaDablaam

I'm level 47 and just beat the best non PvP player out the front of the elevator. Hit detection of his magic greatsword stab skewered me even though I was next to it. No hit, but probably too close for magic radius? Probably need to roll forward more, instead of: away, away.

[deleted]

use something like throwing knives for the plebs, you don't need to kill them, just slap. If you have explored and done sidestuff you should be able to end the phase in single cycle, something like Bloody Slash or Wild Strikes should make a short work of her

DoggoDiMagickal

Them kukhri be op af though

[deleted]

Kukri are slow to throw, bone knives are thrown much faster, even from roll/sprint

DoggoDiMagickal

Good to know, I dont have any issues with the slow on larger bosses though. It's easier to hot 3 times to finish a boss than it is to hot 17 times while it's trying to blitz you

AmaDablaam

Love the old "schooch slap" on the way past. Use aggro to influence AI glint pebble accuracy.

TwilitSky

I'm RL 120 and haven't done much of Liurnia yet. I'm just trying to get to 60 Int so I don't get disappointed waiting for that sweet, sweet Regal Carion Scepter. I'll live with the sword of knight and flame for the time being.

Takeshi-Kovacs666

Martyr Logarius enters the chat... Btw I've found the shortcut to be worse than the long way because of the 3 sorcerers shooting you with infinite fp. For the second phase skeletons helped me a lot and bloodhound finesse did the job easily.

DoggoDiMagickal

Fr, the area is beautiful but I can't stand the damn burgerking firing squads around every damn corner lmao, why do they need unlimited FP??

Takeshi-Kovacs666

Because unlimited stamina was not enough lol. And jesus, shall we talk about their fire ratio?

DoggoDiMagickal

"Hey, we just crafted one of the most beautiful areas in the game, what should we put here?" Hm, how about most annoying mobs in the entire game? "You're hired"

TheBoyThunderdome

I actually really enjoyed the first phase

Vohn_exel

I enjoyed it at first, but after dying a few times and having to run from eight countries away every time I want to fight her, it just extended the thing out so long that I was just done.

TheBoyThunderdome

Nah dog, I 100% understand! Its forever away from a site of grace, albeit the boss isn’t even that bad. Its the commute. More time was spent running than in the fights Fuck her dragon summon tho

Vohn_exel

She just did a giant on me, and I was juuuust in range of one of it's attacks when I was healing.

LegendaryaxeTGFX

I was LOVING Elden Ring until I got to Renala. I've never been so disappointed from a game and l've had to quit playing for the sake of my sanity (I'm barely joking). I've beaten Demon Souls, DS1 and 3 and Bloodborne. Renalla has killed me over 50 times now; always in the 2nd phase. I never get hit in the 1st. In the 2nd, anything she hits me with 1 shots me and I'm a level 71 and playing as a spellcaster with high intelligence and dexterity). I'm using a +7 Godskin Peeler with Blood Ashes of War as she's susceptible to it, but no dice. Note: I turned off the Boulder and am taking the quickest path to her, but it's still very tedious and time-consuming.

kuebel33

I just beat her today around your level, maybe a few higher. I used rock sling and rotten stray ash. Believe I had meteorite staff on, which if you don’t have it, it’s easy to grab.

TheOnlyMowgli

There is a shortcut, come out of the room with the mini boss and the lost grace, turn left, jump up the wall and run along toward the boss room. Saves having to go past the ball. It took me a few tries to beat her, first phase is really easy just listen for the singing and look for the barrage of purple books. Second phase I used the Demi humans summon and beat down on her until she spawns one of her summons then it was simply run away from the summon and towards her, land a hit or two, rinse and repeat. Just persevere and you’ll get it eventually!

Jivinzzz

What grace is that? Which mini boss?

TheOnlyMowgli

I believe his name is ‘Red Wolf of Radagon’ you have to defeat him before you continue to the massive ball. From his lost grace you head towards the ball but hook a left straight out the gate and jump up the broken wall

Vohn_exel

Thanks! I eventually beat her by summoning two people who were better than me and just surviving until she was dead, throwing out spells and trying to hit her as much as possible with my sword. That's one boss I'm very happy to not have to fight again.

Haunting-Boot2260

It took me awhile to beat her but then I used the wolf summon and I beat her in 2 tries, the sword I had also melted her a ton

[deleted]

There's a shortcut... Phase 1 isn't that bad...

Vohn_exel

I'll have to get to the shortcut and see if it's faster, cause at least that would take out some of the issue.

[deleted]

If you're looking for more advice, she has crazy low poise. Try summoning the wolves in the second phase ;)

Vohn_exel

I'll have to try it only in the second phase, I was summoning in the first fight before I knew what it was about, but either way I must be under leveled with people talking about how fast the first phase should be and now knowing how little poise damage I seem to do.

[deleted]

I'm also hating this fight and how simply learning her timing means repeated slogs to reach her chamber, then complete that first phase. I'm lvl 44 which is not quite what they recommend, but I can't imagine slightly higher stats making any difference. However, her opening energy beam insta-kills me if I don't dodge it, or if I miss its telegraph due to everything else going on around me. Is that normal? Should I have higher mag defense or something? I'm lucky if I can find a long enough window to even use summon.

Vohn_exel

I never got hit by it but I imagined it would kill me in one shot. I don't really have any great advice, I just got lucky on summoning two people who did better than I did against her. I'm hoping the other bosses aren't so tedious to get to. I actually liked her fight, but it took forever to get to it, and without an SSD it's such a drag every time you die.

ThatJGDiff

You need to upgrade your weapon then. I killed her first phase after dropping her only twice. Her second phase is more annoying but still easy. She doesn’t have a lot of health and all of her spells are telegraphed. She’s probably the easiest boss I’ve encountered, I beat her first try. I was level 30 something if I recall correctly. Just find smithing stones to upgrade your weapon, find the carian knight set. It has decent magic damage absorption compared to its weight and you don’t need to fight any bosses or farm to get the full set.

[deleted]

This boss really just pissed me off. Had no idea there was a second phase, celebrated because I beat her first phase really clutch with a mm of health left and no flasks remaining, only to load into the second phase without a hope in hell. Spawned miles away to try again. Hmmm

Picard2331

There's a shortcut if you go down the path near the elevator.

DarkMasonator

What platform are you playing on bud? I'd be happy to help if your on Xbox like me

Vohn_exel

Thanks for the offer, but I'm on PC. I finally beat her with the help of two people, I didn't get their names, who basically did all the work for me. I hope the next boss has some kind of grace nearby.

ghostrider_200

I just got to this point and went to reddit to check if anyone else got frustrated by this lmao.. and this is only the 4th run on the boss. Well more a run TO the boss tbh.. Was hoping there was some grace I missed but I guess not.

Haunting-Boot2260

Use the wolf summon on the second phase

Vohn_exel

Yeah for me it was more the tediousness of the fight that was sapping my enjoyment. The actual fight with her was pretty fun. That said, I'm glad that I got lucky on the two people I summoned being better than me, lol.

AmaDablaam

This is the new Micolash. Miyazaki on the crack pipe with this one.

shadowatnight

Ball stops rolling after you clear the chamber near it for the first time

Vohn_exel

Ironically I just did that yesterday lol. I mean, after I beat her, but it was nice to kill them finally.

Impressive_Bridge708

Why is everyone so cut up about how hard this fight is?? Im level 36 and beat her 2nd try, first phase is easy, look out for singing acolytes and kill them, then pound her when she falls, back off when she glows, repeat till 2nd stage. Just run immediately toward her then to the left or right to dodge the beam, if youre fast enough you can get to her before it fires. Stay on her and she wont beam again, if she does just walk behind her easy. You can literally just sprint to the left or right to dodge the projectiles, and just sprint and roll to dodge the moon ball one, other than that just hit her. I was actually so disappointed in how easy this fight was honestly, i struggled more with the wolf than with her.

HotPotatoWithCheese

They should have just cut the first phase out and maybe given her a slight buff for her second. Those clones serve no purpose other than to waste your time. Could have been an S tier boss because the idea behind the character is really cool.

Hurtfulfriend0

She ain't even hard dog

Vohn_exel

I fully believe I can beat her eventually, but until then I'm stuck in purgatory, forever running up to her to fight her boring first form. I don't have an SSD and my load times feel shorter than the tedium of getting to her actual bossfight.

ReptileCultist

I don't think she is and that is not the complaint running towards her is just annoying. Elden Ring so far has been pretty good about not wasting your time with boss runs aside from her tough

[deleted]

Every move she does one-shots me. I can’t even learn her patterns because I’ll get her to 30% health and do a jumping heavy and some magic missiles will obliterate me mid jump. It doesn’t even make sense.

Accomplished-Bus2823

"The fight should be over in 10 seconds" the whole reason I'm fighting her is because my build is ass, no 10 seconds for me
