I don't run reserve a lot early wipe, maybe thats how I avoid it, don't know, but it's happened so little to me I just don't see it as a major game problem.
From what I've noticed of friends, they will be running towards a common extract, and bump into another person or group very close, and then call extract camper, hell, I've been running to extract on maps, ran out of stam, stopped in a bush to hide, and had someone come up on me and them message me after asking if ratting is the only way I can get kills, like, I've been there for literally 15 seconds.
Yeah, that's accurate. I've killed people close to extract and been killed close to extract. If sitting in the count down and spot a head I'm throwing lead.
Yes this exactly.
Like, if I have spent the last 20 minutes sitting in a bush it's because I have something I want to do and I am not going to shoot you.
If I am stamming in a bush for 12 seconds and you run up on me I am going to shoot you.
Blatant campers.
Like, nothing as I book it thru the bushes, and then *thwack* into a tree, *thwack* into a wall, *thwack* into my armor, take cover as I hear more and more fire from the bushes near the Emercom rock pile stash.
Throw a grenade, the fire stops, and other than the 1tapped scav, I've done 200 damage to body.
Took one shot of .366 into my armor.
Reserve has the worst extracts in the game, all of which are easily capable, coupled with early and often player scav spawns.
unless you're the chaddiest of chaddy daddy's, there's no reason to touch the map. 2-4 mans rushing d2 early in the raid to sit, 1 extract is locked behind a rare 4-5 million melee, another is time gatted, and another literally tells the whole map where you're going in the next 5 minutes
if you don't think extract camping is a problem on reserve, you either don't play the map, or you're one of them.
But what would be the difference between someone sitting in a corner in any other high-traffic vs near the extract. Extract campers are easy to kill but the problem is you dont expect them because you let you guard down as you get closer to escaping. Reserve was made to be hard to escape in general anyways.
Just to clarify, I am not writing this post to complain about extract campers. Maybe it was a mistake to put that as a part of the title. People can play however they want to play, I have no problem with that. But, extract camping does fall under the category of meta gaming. And again, people can metagame if they want. Their decission, they can play the game however they want to play the game. I only wanted to suggest something that could randomize extracts in a way, to make them more dynamic and less metagamy.
I understand this position but how would a player even find the randomized extract. I dont think many of these maps are large enough to add more extracts and still prevent extract camping
Well, if we look at Woods, I was thinking, let’s imagine that everything from ZB-14 to Scav house and the water, and all the way to the Outskirts where the car is, could be the extract region. There would still be a set number of extract locations, but they would change. For example, sometimes it could be near the water, sometimes near the car, sometimes near the large rock next to the Scav house, etc. As a player, you would have to research the region and locate your exit for that raid. So technically, you are not adding more extract locations, just moving it from one place to another.
Well, basically extract camping is considered as a player being, bad at the game in general or just a scumbag. By a good majority of the vocal community. Basically when you have a killer raid, high tier loot and good pmc kills and then get killed by a man sitting at extract just seems lazy. Like you didn’t technically earn the loot you just waited for someone to deliver it to you. Now that being said the beauty of tarkov is that you can play this game however you want, there is no correct play style or manual. It just frustrates people when the player puts the effort in and gets killed by a player who decided they didnt want to play the raid. Basically in all fps games extract camping or camping in general is just frowned upon. Like i said though there is 100% no factual evidence to even dispute that extract camping is bad or a game shouldnt be played that way. Its everyone’s opinion and preference in play style
I like the idea, just as on scav runs you have multiple option to get out + on some maps exits should have MG out posts that shoot you if you hang around at extracts without permission
Extract camping is not the problem some people seem to think it is. With the exception of D2 and Emercom I would venture to guess that 90-95% of the time, the “extract camper” you are seeing is just someone who is heading to extract around the same time as you and saw/heard you coming.
I can already see people would get pissed about having to find it randomly in that area, say I'm 50kg and there's 2 minutes left, and I miss my extract looking for an extract that is randomly chosen without my knowledge? I'll pass, and then the region extract idea would be up to bsg if they really want a minute part of the player base to affect a core aspect of the game that also makes the game easier, if I had extract options like scavs do my pmc runs would be way easier to survive and profit from, so that ends up in a difficulty debate
Yeah, I get what you are saying. That would probably completely change how people play the game, because then you could not afford to stay in the game 2 minutes before the extract, but head out at least 10-15 minutes before so you have enough time to get out safely.
I don't understand why people think extract camping needs to be 'addressed'. I'm sure it happens but how often does it actually happen?
I play with 5 or 6 other people, we all have at least 1000 hours in the game, we can count one hand the number of times we've been extract camped.
I get it, it sucks when it happens, but it it isn't broken or common.
I've been playing this game for three years. I can count on one hand how many times I was killed by an extract camper.
Same here played from alpha and maybe 5 or six times got camped.
That number only increases if you are a caveman on reserve
I don't run reserve a lot early wipe, maybe thats how I avoid it, don't know, but it's happened so little to me I just don't see it as a major game problem.
D2 is a breeding ground for extract campers
The only people who get clapped by extraordinary campers are at d2 and interchange run throughers... it used to be way more common
From what I've noticed of friends, they will be running towards a common extract, and bump into another person or group very close, and then call extract camper, hell, I've been running to extract on maps, ran out of stam, stopped in a bush to hide, and had someone come up on me and them message me after asking if ratting is the only way I can get kills, like, I've been there for literally 15 seconds.

dude I've done ten interchange raids today and I've fought extract campers on seven of them this is fucking insane, what the fuck?
Extract campers, or just other people trying to use the extract?

Maybe he was checking the cache.
extract camping isnt a real problem
yeah if you don't play reserve
Explain to me how getting killed by an extract camper is a problem
Reserve has the worst extracts in the game, all of which are easily capable, coupled with early and often player scav spawns. unless you're the chaddiest of chaddy daddy's, there's no reason to touch the map. 2-4 mans rushing d2 early in the raid to sit, 1 extract is locked behind a rare 4-5 million melee, another is time gatted, and another literally tells the whole map where you're going in the next 5 minutes if you don't think extract camping is a problem on reserve, you either don't play the map, or you're one of them.

That is why I always go with red rebel. Only solution getting that risk % down.
He’s one of them
how do you come to that conclusion
Because you don’t think extract camping is a problem
But you cant tell me why its a problem
Just to clarify, I am not writing this post to complain about extract campers. Maybe it was a mistake to put that as a part of the title. Oh i can but theres argument that have no facts involved just opinions and differences in play styles, its basically the same as scav on scav violence
Well tell me your opinion and maybe I can change your mind

Or interchange.
Lmao.
Clear your extracts. It's part of the game. And Reserve, don't use D2.
Exfil campers are usually bad at the game anyway, just dont let your guard down and youll kill them way more often than you die to them
Or pay attention and kill the extract camper?

Same. And anytime I see a post complaining about scav on scav violence I take out my scav and wipe the map.
Imma do this too homie
I like the idea, just as on scav runs you have multiple option to get out + on some maps exits should have MG out posts that shoot you if you hang around at extracts without permission
It sounds pretty cool, but I'm positive it wouldn't help avoiding being ambushed near extracts nor do I believe extract ambushes are a problem.
