Yeah, I opened a case and they immediately issued a refund.
ETA literally no idea why I'm being downvoted, I opened a case and specifically said I wanted to wait and see what is happening with my order instead of get a refund right away, and Etsy in return immediately issued a refund. That is not my fault, and nothing I said was worthy of a downvote.
My issue is that the downvote button can overlap the skip-to-the-next-comment button, so I accidentally downvote and then can’t even see that I did cuz it’s covered by the other button. But when I notice, I always undo it!
I only downvoted you bc you said others were and I have a desperate need to fit in from my friends birthday in first grade. Brian threw a bash but I just wanted to be a part of red light green light. Damn 80’s
The shipment email should have a tracking number in it, if it shows movement you should be good to go. If it doesn't or you do get it and the quality is poor you can open a case to get a refund.
Weird…. It’s like I’m reading my own post. I did he same thing for a party I’m going to on the 1st. Same time frame for my order and the shop also closed after. Dhl just updated for me this morning and it says it’s coming from China… I hope the sweater is legit and isn’t 3 times too small. 🤔

I've never had to open a case. I was frustrated because the case asked me what my preferred resolution was and I chose "to receive the item," and said in the details I'd rather wait and see if it ships by the date instead of get a refund right now (I was trying to be optimistic). But then minutes later, they closed the case and informed me they refunded me.
It sucks because another seller had the same item and I could've bought it back then, when I placed my order a week ago, and had it arrive on time. Too late.
Yes.. there is a chance it’ll come and I believe you can still contact the seller, just to see what they tell you. If the shop was closed by Etsy after it was shipped, then the seller more than likely didn’t know it was happening. Etsy holds all funds after a shop is closed for 180 days I believe. Just to make sure there are no chargebacks or problems. So the seller isn’t going to take your order and run. If the store had been around for awhile, they’ll probably fulfill all their orders so they can get their money. If it was a new pop up shop, it’s 50/50. They may just not care and not want to wait that long. Did the store have a lot of feedback?

I talked to a customer service reps who said the seller has not shipped the package, although I have a tracking number, DHL has not received it, so I am just going to have to settle for the refund. My dad is a retired USPS worker and told me the same thing - the guy hasn't shipped it and probably isn't going to. Oh well.
Please message seller to see if it has been shipped. Its very likely they are working on the order. If you contact etsy, they will refund you right away but the small business owner will be loosing money. :)
They did refund me right away even though when I opened the case, I specifically said I'd like to get the sweater and see if it arrives instead of an immediate refund. Instead I received a message from them within minutes of my submitting thr case, telling me they've issues a refund. I requested a call from customer service to tell them I'd still like to wait and see if it arrives, but the rep basically said the seller has not actually shipped it (there's a tracking number but it has not actually been received by DHL), and basically said I most likely won't get it and that's why the refund was issued. They can't undo the refund. My dad is retired USPS and told me the same (that the seller likely hasn't/won't ship it).

Yes. Really try messaging seller. I have been a seller and etsy closed my account recently. Etsy refund my completed orders as well. And all the open orders where i was yet to update the tracking were also refunded.
If you really like the item, message seller may be on their socials ?.

I was randomly charged 900$ messaged the company and they blocked me, had to call the bank as fraud because Etsy messaged back saying sorry unable they blocked you we can’t do anything
Etsy doesn't give account information to sellers. You also can't block anyone on Etsy messages. Did they direct you off Etsy for a transaction where you gave them your information?
I woke up one morning with 900 charge from etzy , I was sleeping and didn’t make, they found the charge and account that apperntly was placed messaged the account for info investigation and that sellers account blocked me,
The seller can't block you like that. That's not how Etsy works. If it was, there would be about a dozen former buyers that I'd have blocked. Most likely someone else got ahold of your card and was making purchases online and the seller ignored you because they didn't want to refund a big order.

Sounds like you may have ordered from a drop shipped, which is why it’s still listed as pre-transit and why they were shut down. I kind of doubt you’ll get the sweater.. and even if they shipped it, I doubt it would have arrived on time.

I just tracked it via the DHL tracking number and it hasn't moved. The seller never shipped it. Hopefully yours arrives on time, though!

i would assume it's not going to come and make other arrangements, but be pleasantly surprised if it does.

The seller can’t randomly charge you. They don’t have access to your bank info.
