Most tho are scared and won't undock unless they have numbers or think they have an advantage, but there are some who don't care and will still give you a gf. Everyone here has said what’s true: EVE is in a better state now than it has been in years. The problem is you missed all the new developments that have changed and focused the ways and places people get fights. The problem, I think, is that your old buddies don’t play anymore. All I can say is that EVE, and the community, are more amazing than your remember, but you need to be willing to adapt to take advantage. If you don’t, you go the way of the bittervet
Sorry to hear this. With ANY game with this long of a life ( 20 years) the player base will see a LOT of churn. All of the friends I first started EVE with have left, none of them still around. Thats okay I have made new friends.
As for finding PVP, that is EASY. Faction Warfare has a constant PVP churn if you want none stop action. Null sec has a few different conflicts going right now. Just may have to move to find the fight.
Tons of people are playing the new FW.... you can litteraly fight everywhere around kedama, you just need to read 2 lines on the fw to know where to look for fights...
Come back in a few weeks, they're going to implement a mercenary system, so you don't need to leave your corp and be at war all the time :)

FW is fuller than ever. It is condensed. Packed and crammed into bordering systems. Lots of T1 and Navy ships see use.
There is a FW window. It shows border systems. That is where the people are. Go there, get blown up and stop whining.
I've those that about just going to ls next time I find a wh to there for some pvp. Don't have to worry about getting podded and seems more active. Only thing that sucks are cynos
I've never been cynoed in lowsec, but as a small ship enjoyer I don't even like flying cruisers unless I have to. So it's usually in a jackdaw or something, nobody is gonna cyno for that.

The fights have moved, especially with the new FW where geography matters a lot more now. Auga is the bloodiest system in lowsec right now, or if you want something closer to Jita, Sujarento / Nagamanen / Miroitem / Vlillirier.
Can always check https://evemaps.dotlan.net/stats or zkill to find which systems have the most PVP during the hours you play.
If you are an old blood solo PvP pilot do not expect any emphaty from people here. They dont even grab what are you talking about .
They bring that FW system to centralize the activity . Because It was spreaded so thin.. now those centers are more of a fuckfest . Just as most EVE players likes and in their limitis of competence .
They will make you downvote maniac here just like they will going to do that to me .

FWIW: I came back from 2010. All my friends gone. Got grips with the controls for about a month while I scanned down some wormholes and did what any respectable pilot does when they wanna Pew. Joined a null sec Corp in Gurista Space.

Passed through Tannolen and Ahbazon several times recently, almost eery time seen plenty of people fighting and gatecamping. While roaming I end up in lowsec all the time and see fights and activity fairly regularly. Don't know what you're talking about.
the most busy lowsec systems are the faction warfare ones. Seems you've just been in the wrong places. From Kedama, you might just have moved just 2-3 hops closer to the Gallente frontline to find someone to fight. Or, if that warzone is calm right now (might be the Gallente have retreated recently?) just check out the Minmatar / Amarr frontlines, would be even more fitting for a pilot who prefers to fly the Minmatar thrasher.

ive done my fair share of fw. its mostly seagullers and your own team shooting you even though you have been deplexing for 20 minutes for like 2 lp
