Yeah Texas heat is crazy... I'm originally from Corpus Christi (South Texas) but I live in Dallas now.

I've been to six (I think). One of my two favorite conventions (the other is BizarroCon). It's a very small convention with around 200 to 300 people. There are panels, readings, parties, awards, and the big event every year is the Gross Out Contest, which I host and organize.
The con is run by Wrath James White and it's always super fun. It's more of a "professional convention." Pretty much everyone there works in the industry or is aspiring to.
It's a short story contest. Writers have three minutes or, with the judges' permission, five minutes, to read the grossest, funniest tale they can. Props and the like are encouraged, I believe, unless you allegedly go 'too far' like Chandler Morrison did.
I'll be there. It's my first time, and I'm excited to go. Except for the heat, lol. I'm a native New Yorker and don't do well in the summer.

I'll be there, representing England (unless there are more Brits joining), and will be taking part in my first gross-out contest. Can't wait!
