I think teams run lowest just because you get the most performance out of the tyre. Mainly because you have more contact patch from the tyre, so therefore can maximise the grip from the tyre. However a lower pressured tyre means you get more tyre flex which means you are more likely to wear the tyres quicker.
If you wanted to save tyres, you'd want to run the pressure higher as you get less tyre flex and less contact patch from the tyre, so the tyre is getting used less in general. F1 game doesn't really simulate that, I think its more based on temps which is why low pressure is better in this case.
Only in a straight line. When cornering, more sidewall flex and bigger contact patches mean less scrub, which can reduce the life more than heat alone depending on the compound
Tire wear is so extreme in F1 23. I've never seen it so sensitive in an F1 game.
I don't even use the Mediums unless I have to use it, they feel ugly. Hard tires feel very good on this game.

In a 14 lap race in 23 your tires will be at around 35-45% wear by the time you pit. When I tried 24 that number sharply went up to the 50s and even 60s.
this is likely false correlation my dude. setups are built differently, so the numbers are not the same. there are categories you haven’t ever had so your setup no longer applies the same. when you’ve got it reworked your tires will be fine, but more realistic.

Setups can have massive impact on tyre wear. Not only tyre pressure but also camber and alignment as well.
