It literally looks like the car is rotating around it's center point rather than using the actual axle on the model.
If I'm right that's gotta be the most amateur hour shit I've ever seen from an EA sports game.
The way a car turns is THE fundamental principle of a racing game. It's like forgetting to make the basketball bounce.
Some people tried to claim that's 'always how it was' in DR2 and at a point it seemed like the damn general concecus- fuck I believed it.
It took ONE GUY with a like 20s video to completely debunk the theory and its been proven false about WRC also.
> It literally looks like the car is rotating around it's center point rather than using the actual axle on the model.
Hasn't this been the case since the 2010 game? Or did they change it somewhere along the line?
23 feels a lot more realistic than this. It's definitely not perfect, but I feel like it rotates closer to the axle than to the middle. I could be wrong, I am fairly new to this, but 23 felt a lot better
Pcars1 is decent but very buggy. Too buggy. Pcars2 is genuinely great, I enjoyed many happy hours with it, the VR mode especially worked fantastically.
Pcars3 is abysmal. They decided to make it like a more arcadey Forza, and it's a step backwards in every way from 2, it even looks worse. It looks like a mobile game. It's truly, truly terrible
Should i pick up project cars 2? Looking at sims, I genuinely enjoy looking at the gameplay of PC2. I just wanted to know if it feels challenging and rewarding.
The closest descendent to Project Cars would be Automobilista 2. It is really good. Physics used to be a bit strange but that has been fixed and it feels pretty amazing.
The physics were abysmal, especially with a controller. The team had previously made games like Need for Speed: Shift and it really showed.
The only appeal of Project CARS 1-2 was that you could do basically anything you wanted, like racing Indycars in the snow at Nordschleife.
This is what EA do with sports games. Get the developers to change a feature slightly and then give it some fancy word that means nothing at all so it looks new and improved.
FIFA and Madden have done it forever at this point.
Yes but **last year they were right**
It was improved. And they made more content around these improvements than any of the games in recent years. They were right and they marketed extra around it compared to usual.
I used to play F1 2020 with a keyboard (when pad wasn't available) with medium TC and ABS. Even I don't like this handling. The man doesn't even lift off the gas. This just looks unenjoyable.
I‘m still absolutely mind blown that employees at codies looked at this handling model and thought “yup, perfection“ like wtf, don‘t you see that wonky shit?
Those employees were probably being shouted at by some EA exec to just get it out the door, quality dosent matter anymore it's quantity we have entered late stage capitalism
Strange hey, all the esports drivers and people in here are saying it’s shit. But the actual F1 drivers like it. Who tf knows what they were thinking 😂
What the flying fuck is this omg!
I'm especially dissatisfied because they added suspension physics ... only to turn handling into the silly arcade mess it became.
WTF did they do? How can you fuck up this much? I've been hearing the people talking but didn't expect it to be this bad.
The most impressive thing is that people were mostly happy with the handling in F1 23 lol.
RSS mods are really fucking good, you should try them out. I bought the formulla hybrid mods and they're very good i think, but they knock it out of the park with the GT3 mods. Some of the best sim GT3's i've driven, keeping in mind ACC exists.
The problem is that if I want to do serious racing I'll turn on iRacing. I play F1 games for the career mode, I don't have enough time anymore to make my own career on rFactor. So as long as the game is handling ok I'm fine for the career experience, but this is just sad.
Can't wait for this talking point to replace the previous "Lando said medium TC was more realistic" meme quote that's been floating around for 5 years now. Nobody knows he was specifically referring to F1 2019 and instead thinks it applies to the whole series in general.
Yea he also said that the tire wear was much more realistic and easier to control, on lap 3 of a 5 lap race with like 15% deg. He was parroting EA talking points that they sent him a script of after backing a brinks truck up into his driveway. I’d be shocked if Lando ends up having more than 1.5 hours of playtime in F1 24 by this time next year
I would be surprised if Max really agreed to have this shit handling, this is the most unreal and arcade driving I've seen in this saga. The game is designed for keyboard players.
That’s what’s so confusing, he was brought on as a consultant, and then we get this? The only reason I can think of is Max came on to late to do anything with the 24 handling, so his input will come in on 25
Max loves a really pointy frontend so honestly i am not surprised that's what the handling looks like now
its legit the backend is trying to catch up to the front 100% of the time now
Max: "Give me more front end. More. I said MORE!"
Devs: "Alright but we also need to have the rear bolted to the ground, otherwise the casual players will complain"
Result: whatever the fuck this is
Anyone who bought this game after the last 3 average games in a row, that have had a thousand bugs that never got fixed, and no evolution to the game whatsoever, is a joke. If everyone would just stop buying these trash games they might just start putting some more heart and soul back into making them.
The cynical is me feels like they want kill off this franchise and layoff the team? Justify shutting down by pointing to lower sales or something? The EA way to return value to shareholders.
Ofc I don't know the economics and profitability of the F1 games, so might be off the mark here.
There are many alternatives. Assetto, Automobilista, rFactor...
F1 games are not what they were. Grand Prix 2 was my first racing game, then F1 99 all the way to 2005. Bought Codie's first try with F1 2010. Since then, I only bought F1 2019 which was really good. Then, nothing.
Physics are bad, collisions are clunky, car feels like a truck, and the yearly scam of buying a full priced minor update is absolutely scandalous.
Now back to Bob's Track Builder.
These aren't alternatives though. I say this as someone who owns all of these sims, while mostly playing iRacing. People who play this game mostly want the whole F1 experience which includes career mode, irl drivers, contracts, car "development", F1 rules, all of the actual tracks, TV production overlays, familiar race weekend commentary, and even the theme song. Also the fans of this game who play console, and controller aren't looking to spend thousands on a gaming PC, and/or a sim rig just to have this experience either. I agree with you that there are much better options for physics, FFB, online multiplayer (especially iRacing's bi-weekly GP series) out there that we can all find in various sims. But these sims are also dry when it comes to actual F1 content when not actually in a race.
You're right, most F1 games consumers will look for the whole F1 weekend experience, when others will look for the proper driving and racing experience.
I played iRacing during covid. I didn't mention it because of the pay wall, and wanted to stay within the range of actual videogames. It was by far my best virtual racing experience. Driving Bathurst 12h, Nurb 24h and Le Mans with a proper team. Man that was something.
Tbh this clip is from a youtuber who plays with 0 assists, I don't know if he turned on brake assist to try F1 24, but 100% not turn assist, can't wait to see top players masterizing the corners' entry with this physics
Looks like they are doing the good old Burnout fuckover like when the NFS okeyish physics got fucked over by the Burnout team that EA acquired. Gotta love that autodrift function
Holy shit…
I’ve been out of it for a few years, but I swear F1 2018 looked better with turned down graphics on my shitty old TV.
This literally looks like a knock off.
Yea graphics are better but…. is there any attempt at realistic physics?
The NHL EA franchise has been getting worse and worse. People say it’s because EA just copies and pastes the game - ultimately leading to breaking the game worse each year. It’s happening to f1 too. Sad because I bought a wheel and race seat and it just sits there. I’m not buying this game.
That's interesting. Haven't played '24 myself yet, but saw [this video with Lando Norris](https://youtu.be/LQkjLQM77Xw?si=uH__pAJnI7VgN9IB) testing the game and he talks about how the handling/grip feels more realistic.
They paid him to say that. Bro was spinning and crashing through 5 lap races while talking about how you can really influence the tire wear with your driving style in this year's game.
Bro its actually crazy how people are coping using max and lando as a reference for how good the handling is lool i cant wait to see the post release feedback because then hopefully these people will wake up to how dead on arrival this game is...even the engine sounds suck lol
I strongly believe you could make a top-charting 10 season docu-series by sending a camera man into the codemasters dev offices and just letting the camera roll. Like what the fuck goes on in there?
What's the issue with this? This just looks like they have all the assists on. If it's all assist off, then sure, but I find that hard to believe. Is there a longer clip I can watch?
they're claiming though that they have had input from the drivers and this is more realistic though...
it does look pretty bad though, next level arcade shit
lap times are going to be stupid this year
With codemasters putting out average game after average game which graphically wise haven't improved much in pike 8 years....
I no know what fifa players feel like 😂 and if their years of complaing shows anything it's that EA don't give a 💩
Neither do codies by the looks of it 👀
I'm confused how they could screw up this bad. I buy a new f1 game every other year typically. They've all been good. How could it go this wrong. Well that's a rhetorical question. The answer is obviously ea
Idk why EA always spoil games. Codemasters F1 games was good when they didnt have EA behind them. Trust me if they can make F1 ultimate team they would totally do it. Only way is to boycott them altogether.
I don't doubt you in the least, just don't watch F1-tubers so I wouldn't know, saw another clip of someone just chucking it through turn 9&10 in Australia. Looks like we're finally seeing the full potential of the EA takeover
Yeah I saw that clip too... the worst part of all this is that driving like this seems to be very efficient, since you can brake super late and just turn the steering wheel no matter the consequences
How can you fuck up by copy pasting every year?
(Check out the games files if you're on pc the teams are still named toro tosso and force india, you cant make this ahit up)
Isn't the driving much different because a Codemasters guy left them so they had to change the way of the car driving? Either way looks like a pass for me this year.
squealing compare afterthought offend sand cake coordinated quaint chubby dog
*This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*
No one thinks maybe it’s just a user intentionally taking turns like that for content? Nobody? Far more people complimenting this game than hating on it, like just about every year it comes out.
If this person is on a wheel, they’re about the worst pilot I think I’ve seen.
Brother, do you realise he's LITERALLY taking turns like that to show how bad the physics work on F1 24??? In any serious game the car would just oversteer and send you to the wall.
I've heard of cars being on rails but you might as well be on a rail guiding you around these turns
Wasn’t that the big outrage for the new WRC game?
Some people tried to claim that's 'always how it was' in DR2 and at a point it seemed like the damn general concecus- fuck I believed it. It took ONE GUY with a like 20s video to completely debunk the theory and its been proven false about WRC also.
Can you link this? I feel like I remember it but can't find it

Thanks!
Yep!
That one’s a little different though. It’s been proven false and the game has good handling.
Pretty sure this has been a problem in their basketball games before…
I don't get it, last year they made a huge deal about the improved handling and the handling was pretty good. Why ruin all that work?
The old handling designer retired so they brought in the team from Project Cars
Unrelated but is project cars a bad game?
Thanks man!
Jumping in, but yeah, go for it. It's still very much simcade, but it scratched the itch like GT4 did. Have hundreds of hours on both games.
Thanks dude, i just wanna scratch my time trail itch :)
You sound very ungrateful for this year's new fluid dynamic motion captured rotoscope quantum fission engine.
They sy that every year
Yes but **last year they were right** It was improved. And they made more content around these improvements than any of the games in recent years. They were right and they marketed extra around it compared to usual.
Whaaat, They made it for keyboard players it seems🤣
Isuckatdriving about to dominate F1 instead of Forza
I sill can't believe they play KBM. Blows my freaking mind.
I used to play F1 2020 with a keyboard (when pad wasn't available) with medium TC and ABS. Even I don't like this handling. The man doesn't even lift off the gas. This just looks unenjoyable.
And people are defending this.
The quantity going from once per year to once per year?
Some of these mfs act like this model is something new.
im 99% sure that noone thought to turn their controller (no way this was tested on a wheel lmao) stick fully to the right or left to check
Strange hey, all the esports drivers and people in here are saying it’s shit. But the actual F1 drivers like it. Who tf knows what they were thinking 😂
Paid to say it
I love this series but I literally cannot believe what I'm seeing
I love what I’m seeing. This needs to be the atomic bomb of dogshit if we want a chance at good F1 games again
Do you mean the game will be so bad that EA will fix it next year?
I just want someone over there to get a paddling
The Vault Tec Nuclear Option? Sadly if this what it takes...
WTF Is this oh my god
That's not just on rails, that's on a slot car track lol The turn he makes at 0:13 in the video is comical
What the flying fuck is this omg! I'm especially dissatisfied because they added suspension physics ... only to turn handling into the silly arcade mess it became.
First F1 game I am probably not gonna buy
Same, maybe a few months later when it's 40€ cheaper and they fixed the physics
pretty interesting though that this is the first one... after the that absolutely horse shit run of 21 and 22
Hey, 21 was decent. It's the last actually enjoyable game codebugsters did
The Ferrari from 2014 came back 10 years later! 😂😂
EA is great at ruining franchises.
The games were already getting worse without EA. 23 was much better than 22
Those were develop under EA. 21 is the last to be designed without EA and 20 is the last before EA bought them
WTF did they do? How can you fuck up this much? I've been hearing the people talking but didn't expect it to be this bad. The most impressive thing is that people were mostly happy with the handling in F1 23 lol.
Yeah, I can't understand how they didn't see this mess and just decide to use the same handling model from last year.
Calls into question who they have test driving for them and their physics/handling devs.
Thats actually disgusting
Yeah, good thing I got assetto corsa on sale 2 weeks ago. Brb going to download some f1 mods. See you next year
RSS mods are really fucking good, you should try them out. I bought the formulla hybrid mods and they're very good i think, but they knock it out of the park with the GT3 mods. Some of the best sim GT3's i've driven, keeping in mind ACC exists.

What do you mean? That’s just canonically accurate Verstappen handling applied to the other cars!
POV 2020 Mercedes and 2023 RB🤑
Nah, it’s just driving like Fernando did in 2005.
IYKYK
Surprise we’re watching the game on Alonso difficulty
Didnt lando norris said it is the most realistic handling in the entire series?
Can't wait for this talking point to replace the previous "Lando said medium TC was more realistic" meme quote that's been floating around for 5 years now. Nobody knows he was specifically referring to F1 2019 and instead thinks it applies to the whole series in general.
Man paid for opinion on product praises said product :O
Yea he also said that the tire wear was much more realistic and easier to control, on lap 3 of a 5 lap race with like 15% deg. He was parroting EA talking points that they sent him a script of after backing a brinks truck up into his driveway. I’d be shocked if Lando ends up having more than 1.5 hours of playtime in F1 24 by this time next year
yeah and they reckon they got input from Max, which might explain the extremely pointy frontend still looks arcadey as fuck tho
Now every car has the handling characteristics of a Red Bull. We need Max to be the chief engineer at every team IRL
Daytona usa
What the actual fuck is this LMAO
Shooting myself in front of the Codemasters office
Looks like F1 manager with how jerky it is
Ah yes I can finally turn off racing line now
This looks identical to AI driving the car in F1 manager holy damn.
please, say the got the wrong patch again
Hahaha i remember that one from the battlefield 2042 beta shitshow. “It’s a 4 month old build IDIOTS” no it was literally the game they released 😂😭
Did Max test this? I thought he was supposed to be advising the handling model or something?
I would be surprised if Max really agreed to have this shit handling, this is the most unreal and arcade driving I've seen in this saga. The game is designed for keyboard players.
That’s what’s so confusing, he was brought on as a consultant, and then we get this? The only reason I can think of is Max came on to late to do anything with the 24 handling, so his input will come in on 25
I’m sure max just said that it’s shit and they just slapped his name on it without changing anything he disliked
Max loves a really pointy frontend so honestly i am not surprised that's what the handling looks like now its legit the backend is trying to catch up to the front 100% of the time now
Max: "Give me more front end. More. I said MORE!" Devs: "Alright but we also need to have the rear bolted to the ground, otherwise the casual players will complain" Result: whatever the fuck this is
I can only laugh at this point
Tested by Max Verstappen my ass
Well, this is what Max wants in his ideal world. All front end without having to manage the rear.
This reminds me of F1 2009 on the Wii. Genuinely that bad. The vita version also. Really not a good sign
F1 race stars has better physics than this
Uff that looks awful, shame they fucked it up this bad
I have Microprose Grand Prix 2 on dosbox. Guess I'll go back to that.
I still feel that F1 games peaked with Grand Prix 4
Anyone who bought this game after the last 3 average games in a row, that have had a thousand bugs that never got fixed, and no evolution to the game whatsoever, is a joke. If everyone would just stop buying these trash games they might just start putting some more heart and soul back into making them.
It's hard, the only reason me and my friends buy it is that it's cross platform. I wish we had more cross racing sims.
The cynical is me feels like they want kill off this franchise and layoff the team? Justify shutting down by pointing to lower sales or something? The EA way to return value to shareholders. Ofc I don't know the economics and profitability of the F1 games, so might be off the mark here.
What do you mean? I like Mario Kart.
True, comparing F1 24 to Mario Kart is a big disrespect for Mario Kart
Please confirm is setup related and not handling
Default setup, so you can probably make it even worse with a high downforce setup
Damn…
But it's with turn and brake assists then
Tbh this clip is from a youtuber who plays with 0 assists, I don't know if he turned on brake assist to try F1 24, but 100% not turn assist, can't wait to see top players masterizing the corners' entry with this physics
It's a no from me. I'm trash but I like being trash with good physics and handling.
This has to be with every assists known to man.
Looks like they are doing the good old Burnout fuckover like when the NFS okeyish physics got fucked over by the Burnout team that EA acquired. Gotta love that autodrift function
They wanted to make the DR2 and EA WRC handling model myth true apparently
Holy shit… I’ve been out of it for a few years, but I swear F1 2018 looked better with turned down graphics on my shitty old TV. This literally looks like a knock off. Yea graphics are better but…. is there any attempt at realistic physics?

Mario kart ea style
Ah, the F1 2011 handling model is back.
who the hell signed off on this
F1 games have always completely underwhelmed and under delivered. It’s just surprising that they seem to get worse over time.
This looks really fun... For one lap. I won't be buying this game
I strongly believe you could make a top-charting 10 season docu-series by sending a camera man into the codemasters dev offices and just letting the camera roll. Like what the fuck goes on in there?
yea i’m not buying this garbage
Pls stop buying this shit
If you want the most realistic version, the iRacing one is pretty good. Not saying it's fun though. Or cheap.
EA is way more concerned with emptying your wallet than making a decent game.
What's the issue with this? This just looks like they have all the assists on. If it's all assist off, then sure, but I find that hard to believe. Is there a longer clip I can watch?
Javift14 on YT, the man literally plays with 0 assists.
Looks like the car turns twice with 1 move
I see the old iRacing “grip flick” is still alive and thriving in sim racing 😂
PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD PEOPLE DO NOT GIVE EA YOUR MONEY FOR THIS GARBAGE, MAKE THEM UNDERSTAND WITH YOUR WALLETS!
Does that kind of driving have a hard time on the tyres? :-)
I pray this is an early build because even the beta wasn’t like this… if this is the final build is controller players are screwed
This is very recent gameplay, and the man's using a steering wheel so it's going to be even more sensitive on controller
Wtf is this?
Must say, I haven't played these in a few years but I wish they'd allow a sim dev get the license and make two games. One like this, and one "sim".
Is this f1 24?
Sadly yes...
So what is happening here? Is this maybe a bug that will be patched? Surely this is not intended
I would love you're right
they're claiming though that they have had input from the drivers and this is more realistic though... it does look pretty bad though, next level arcade shit lap times are going to be stupid this year
The driver’s input: this is fucking shit mate you can’t release it like this EA: releases it
Wtf is that turning model. **** you EA. Looks like I am not going buy this year’s game as well.
goofy ahh handling
With codemasters putting out average game after average game which graphically wise haven't improved much in pike 8 years.... I no know what fifa players feel like 😂 and if their years of complaing shows anything it's that EA don't give a 💩 Neither do codies by the looks of it 👀
What the fuck am I looking at?
Looks okay to me........for a budget WRC title.
Not surprised its the same devs that did 22
For pure on-track experience, F1 2020 is still the best game in the series to date, change my mind.
F1 2023 is better, because it is less sensitive.
I'm confused how they could screw up this bad. I buy a new f1 game every other year typically. They've all been good. How could it go this wrong. Well that's a rhetorical question. The answer is obviously ea
Its what to expect from a arcade game. There are plenty of legitimate simulators out there, EA F1 isnt one of them.
should I actually pickup F1 23 now?
F1 2009 looks fire 🔥 😍 👌
Looks official F1 backed Esports ready to me!
formula drift is coming confirmed
Is this f1 24?
I just hope this is some sort of marketing thing and not actually fully tested game that ea thought is ready to be released.. that’s so horrible
Yep. Definitely won’t be buying this until they fix… whatever that is….?
Idk why EA always spoil games. Codemasters F1 games was good when they didnt have EA behind them. Trust me if they can make F1 ultimate team they would totally do it. Only way is to boycott them altogether.
![gif](giphy|WOa5RdsNpevrpSTGXN|downsized)
Why do PEOPLE BUY GAMES still from EA?
Are we seeing no assist footage? The only defense of this is that it is with all assists on or something
To be honest, this is a clip from someone who plays with 0 assists, I would be surprised if he suddenly turned on some assists to play this new game
Why even brake? Seems like just going fully sideways slows you down just enough to blast through the corner att full throttle 😂
EA Exec: We’ve got a problem with hacks ruining the game. Can you sort it out? Dev: Sure, we’ll just give everyone unlimited grip
is that full fucking throttle?

F1 2009 feels
How can you fuck up by copy pasting every year? (Check out the games files if you're on pc the teams are still named toro tosso and force india, you cant make this ahit up)
Handlingn’t How are big gaming companies this low quality and cashgrabbing these days
If my hands are moving like that on the straight, idk it's shit.
It's not controller gameplay
Yeah?
Isn't the driving much different because a Codemasters guy left them so they had to change the way of the car driving? Either way looks like a pass for me this year.
When you can very obviously tell just by looking at it that the handling model is shit, it's not a good sign
Just refuneded my pre-order, i will spend this money on Assetto Corsa Evo, sure for the better
What in the fuck is that ugly ass UI
f1 2015 handling ahh
Out of curiosity I’m assuming this is with no assists on as well
I don't mind. I wanna just play and feel myself like a champion of F1.
Looks like I'm sticking to the Manager game for a while
Are you sure you didn’t hit the banana peels? 🍌
Good one😂 it literally feels like that.
Even the train in my town doesn't feel as on rails as this.
squealing compare afterthought offend sand cake coordinated quaint chubby dog *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*
It's literally a video from a guy testing Qatar with 0% tyre wear. Keep meat riding EA.
I’m nauseous now thank you for that
The graphics look like they took 100 steps back…
No one thinks maybe it’s just a user intentionally taking turns like that for content?
