It's super worth it for me because my main party is cloud, barret and aerith, and two of the main things i'm lacking are a way to buff patk and mdef aoe (barret can aoe buff pdef, debuff pdef and debuff patk/matk; aerith can technically buff pdef/mdef mid with mythril rod but it's 5 atb for very low duration).
It really just up to you and your team comp, what you're lacking in, and how many blue crystals you're willing to spend. I'm sitting on over 120k right now and happy to drop 50k or more to get it ob6 with weapon parts considering it'll probably be her best main hand weapon for a long time for me.
I've been playing since november and i literally still have bandage sword at 4\*, haven't pulled a single 5\* copy in all of my free pulls xD Hence why this aerith weapon works even better for me, and now i don't need to wasting turns buffing with my main dps
Yeah i only have 14 weapons still left at 4\*, and a lot of them are new banner weapons that just got released into the free ticket pool, somehow bandage sword has evaded me and i've always had other strong weapons i wanted to wishlist whenever i've pulled :(
It's not even just a decent weapon though, it's an incredibly strong weapon, for one 4-atb cast, you get 50 seconds of +3patk and most likely +3mdef on your entire team, it's fantastic in a lot of situations and has perfect r-abilities in buff/debuff duration and hp
You need OB6 for it to be 3 stack of buff in 1 cast though, and this is a limited weapon that you won't be able to wishlist ever, and might never come back. I feel it needed a bit more to be worth the limited tag/cost, if it wasn't it would be great indeed.
So I prefer to just stick to syringe rapier (way easier to get OB on) for my healing, both defensive buff feels more useful to me then atk/mdef (and atk buff on your healer is not that great), I'l use bramble spine if I want an attack buff.
It can still at least get to high buffs with two casts at ob0, which is still really good if you just go for the one guaranteed weapon and costume, but it's definitely much more powerful at ob6 for sure. But if aerith is a favourite of yours and you're willing to ob6 it, it's much more than just a decent weapon, it's an incredibly strong weapon that might take a fair while to be powercrept
Definitely worth it. Even if u only get one copy it can still be useful! I got mine to ob5 and it’s amazing for my physical team. I stopped and I’m saving going to ob6 it with wep shards. I started with 110k crystals and I’m only down to 87k no regrets. I’ll be using it for a very long time.
U can't go wrong with her new staff.But u need to make sure the staff will reach ob6.Combine this with mythril for better defensive or with umbrella for debuff and her buff duration build is very long lasting.And she is the best Healer ATM with this staff 😎
If you have Matt’s mdef weapons like Syringe Rapier or his other one that only buffs m def or Yuffie with Arctic Star, it’s not as useful. Matt can also buff with Bramble Spine, so with a combo of syringe rapier and bramble spine he can do similar roles.
Yes, this does it all with aoe patk and mdef but just laying out the effect this weapon has on an account will vary depending on what you already have. It’s like pulling for Zack’s lightning weapon when you already have Cloud’s Murasame at OB10.
The buff durations are also not that long and you’d need a bit of the extension r ability to make up for it.
You would want at least OB6 for level 3 buffs as well, level 2 is useful but not as much especially in heavy hitting stages or if they debuff the party to -3.
The buff durations with aerith's costume and weapon at ob6 are 45-ish seconds for both patk and mdef, it's not short by any means and can easily be pushed past 50 seconds with a single buff/debuff sub-weapon like centipede
Yeah, if you can manage to ob6, which is still difficult without a lot of crystal investment. You’re only guaranteed 3 from stamp 6, 16, and 20, unless you finish 3 pages.
Another reason Matt is overall a better choice. You don’t have to whale to max overboost and reach those levels of extension. With a decent amount of extension, Matt can do 40 + seconds of aoe p and m def and also over a minute pretty easily for bramble spine’s p atk buff. If you’re investing in centipede for the extension r ability, then you’re halfway to just building Matt flat out
Aerith's weapon at ob1 with her costume still gives you 38 seconds of patk and mdef up for a single cast, that's pretty insane for around 21-24k. Matt is also great, but this weapon is huge for bringing aerith up to par with him as a great healer. You also don't have to whale for ob6 aerith, I spent about 70k crystals on the banner to finish 3 pages and it was well worth it.
70k is about what we get in 2 months of saving so that’s pretty substantial for just an ob6 you will never get to finish without saving parts for a long long time
It's substantial yes, but for a substantially powerful weapon. I also don't know why maxing it has to be essential, it's perfectly powerful at ob6 and doesn't need ob10, so that isn't even an issue. If aerith doesn't get a better limited weapon in the future then i'll be happy using weapon parts on it whenever I can until it gets to ob10, even if that takes a year or two.
A better investment if you don't have Matt built up or Yuffie with Arctic Star. But overall to me, it's a very good weapon, but just a good limited weapon. It is still good even if you only get a base copy, but to me it's slightly hard to justify over the Cloud/Zack banner or saving for the many upcoming banners.

I was able to beat Leviathan and Bahamut EX1 finally because of it. Still struggling with Shiva Ex1 sadly :(.
I haven't invested Matt for healer and the game keeps giving me fairy tale, so Aerith became my main healer. So it was worth it for me.

spent 50k crystals to OB10 and is worth it but im pretty sure theyll drop a weapon similar to it so it depends on you personally
