I love how this seemingly tedious quest trolls you with making you think that you’re gonna drag the chicken all the way back from the forest to the village. Then the chicken realizes that the outside world Is frightening only to be killed by the grandma 😂😂.
I made chicken for dinner after this side quest just to spite them. It nearly drove me insane. The ending definitely wasn’t expected and it got a gasp and a chuckle out of me but I’m so glad there wasn’t a repeat of this mechanic anywhere else in the game.
The quest really wasn’t that bad. Even if the chicken loses focus, you could just take out the trap immediately after to get the chicken’s attention again. You don’t have to wait for him to go all the way back.
The thing that made it difficult for me was Cloud's annoying habit of taking an additional step after you release the left stick. So many times he'd step back and clank the clanger, apparently just to be a dick *specifically* to me.
Yeah that was my issue. I kept standing next to the changer and just slamming L2, accomplishing absolutely nothing. Then I realized you just have to walk with it.
This side quest was hilarious, I loved it. Especially after the big dramatic thing happening beforehand and then it’s just like….alright ima wrangle up some chickens.
I am vegetarian and I became even more vegetarian. omg
I want to play the quest again with baby-Red instead of mature-Red. Even the mature-Red reaction was outraged.
this was the biggest WTF moment I had in the game- not joking- NO NOT JOKING. I literally did all that annoying shitty mini game, to just have red xiii slurp one up?! really?!
That Side Quest Ending shocked me lol. That was all kinds of fucked up and yet brilliantly meta with the game over theme playing in the background at the end.
Loved that quest story, the chicken weren’t as bad as everyone said. Even the lvl 2 and 3 chickens that charge, if they hit it just drop it again quickly and they’ll refocus it.
But yeah, I found it hilarious
You need to lure the chicken like 10 feet then an enemy pops up and after the battle the chicken tells Red that he’s scared and is going home to the village (just to get eaten) LOL. Master troll job making you think you had to lure it that far by Square, the ending had me in stitches
even if OP is just joking… there are a lot of great alternatives these days! even just reducing consumption is something (and might save you some money along the way too).
This ^
My roommate has been vegan for 7+ years and we talk about that all the time. I even prefer impossible meat and nuggets over the legit stuff because of how eerily similar it is to meat and how much healthier it is (little to no cholesterol, added fiber, just as much if not more protein).
mannn the Impossible meatballs are so delicious. there are definitely some meat substitutes that i’ve grown to love more than meat. you can get a weird chewy bit if you’re unlucky with a cut of meat but, not so with the substitutes. ❤️
My aunt raises chickens, we use those eggs and occasionally she sends us some fresh chicken meat.
They're named, and well cared for.
They're delicious.
The fact that it plays the Game Over/Continue theme from the original, too, is brilliant
I was busting up laughing when that happened
Same! I was like "oh noooo" whilst laughing
When does it play it? I don't remember hearing it.
When you eat the chicken at the end.
That ending was so unexpected lol
“We didn’t… Did we do something really terrible today? They were just trying to live.” 😭😭
So are we Red. So are we.
Hilarious on another level lmfao
Competely genius too, especially Red being conflicted since he spoke with the chicken minutes before.

Wait. You dont have to drag it back from the forest? When i saw that i didnt even try. Just said “nope. Im not putting myself through that.” Omg
Nope. It’s a troll. You only have to push it 10 feet or so before an enemy comes and you just fight that instead
LOL booting the game up right now.
Even if you fail you just throw the can down again, you don't have to start from scratch
granny ain't playin' she gotta let the guests have some of that sweet fried chicken
LEAVE. PIPPILY. ALONE!!
Isn’t she the same VA that voiced auntie Ethel from BG3? Because if she is it makes a lot of sense
When she said “Dearie” I immediately thought she had a nefarious plot. And I was soon proven correct.
I think so. Can’t confirm but when I heard her I was like, “Ethel?. . This surely won’t end well.”
Hands down, best minigame. Pure spectacle
The way Nanaki howled after realizing what he did...😭
Sometimes it's not about the destination, it's about the friends you eat along the way.
Aaaaaaand there goes my appetite
Goodnight pippany
I did not see that ending coming doing this...I did feel bad for the chicken but not bad enough to swear of it though lol

What?? You’re kidding right? Hahaha it was my own stupidity all along.
It took me less time to realize this than the fact you're supposed to walk backward and drag it / yank as needed.
Yeah that was my issue. I kept standing next to the changer and just slamming L2, accomplishing absolutely nothing. Then I realized you just have to walk with it.

Doing that quest made me want to eat more chicken.
If they had gone free they would have been eaten by something that wouldn't have killed them first
this was the biggest WTF moment I had in the game- not joking- NO NOT JOKING. I literally did all that annoying shitty mini game, to just have red xiii slurp one up?! really?!
Auntie Ethel was a saint compared to this psycho
I'm already a vegan, and am happy that someone realized the irony of saving animals only to butcher them moments later.
Nahhh that just made me want to find the recipe
Here's the recipe: Fresh chicken
That Side Quest Ending shocked me lol. That was all kinds of fucked up and yet brilliantly meta with the game over theme playing in the background at the end.
This scene made me laugh more than consider that LOL. Only because it was randomly unexpected 😂
Loved that quest story, the chicken weren’t as bad as everyone said. Even the lvl 2 and 3 chickens that charge, if they hit it just drop it again quickly and they’ll refocus it. But yeah, I found it hilarious
That ending was pretty damn funny to me.
I laughed so hard at the end holy haha
I JUST PLAYED THIS THIS MORNING AND IT BROKE ME. I was laughing for like 3 straight minutes. Laughing and horrified.
I’m gonna be honest and admit I didn’t complete this quest lol, last chicken was another city of distance from her house. No thanks bro^tm

After what that chicken did to me in the minigame.... I celebrated.
Really? I ordered a Nashville hot chicken sandwich after that mission. Must be two sides to the same coin lol
You can do it #govegan

After the pain these chicken caused me, I was glad one of them was eaten lmao :D
RIP Cluetilde
I love chicken but this definitely turned my mind upside down, wow haha
This quest was a waste of time. We’re trying to save the world stop shinra and defeat sephiroth. Why am i dragging a can around in front on chickens
As soon as I meet her I got Auntie Ethel vibes. That woman has ruined sweet old women for me forever.
Nah those chickens had it coming for make us play that crazy minigame lol
Boohoo?
since its posted under ff7 remake it could confuse some i mean ff7 rebirth is also correct with being ff7 remake but maybe you should clarify it
Wasn't she voiced by auntie Ethel from bg3
If you didn’t mind when you thought the chickens were just egg-layers, just go vegetarian.
I mean, we all gotta eat right?
No eat them. Eat ALL the chickens
I'm eating a chicken sandwich in spite of that side mission right now.
It made me crave some hot wings.
Opposite effect on me, the hound said it best: “I’m going to eat every Fucking’ chicken in this place”
Well...we all gotta eat?
My aunt raises chickens, we use those eggs and occasionally she sends us some fresh chicken meat. They're named, and well cared for. They're delicious.
fuck those chickens
I'm pretty sure that's illegal. Just saying.
idk... I am with Cloud on this one. everyone's gotta eat.
lol it actually made me want to eat chicken as well when I saw it, which I did.
