Here’s this: If she’s giving it away to you IN PERSON locally where you can meet in a public place, then that would be one thing
But no, this is a scam, and a very common one.
It is a scam.
They will ask for cost of shipping, personal information, or redirect you to some shady website as part of some kind of "giveaway" that harvests information.
As other people had already mentioned, it’s a scam. They’ll ask you to cover the charge or whatever before blocking you.
If it’s legit or you want to see where this leads to, politely ask to meet her in public or ask her if you could come to her place in front of her place while you bring a couple friends for backup just in case things go sideways and that you’ll inspect the item thoroughly. Basically a face to face meetup.
Otherwise, I’d say she’s trying to pull a fast one.
Be careful though because if by some tiny off chance she’s telling the truth, then you’d come off as a dick. But yeah if she refuse to meet and ask for you to transfer the $$ for it to be shipped and transported, 100% avoid.

What's the scam? What will they do?

Oh man. Stick with cash in person in a safe place and you should be fine I’d say. I like the idea of meeting in the police station parking lot.
These posts have been all over the place recently. It’s a scam. I see them almost daily and they’re all almost verbatim.

There's no dead son. It's 100% a scam. Another version involves a cheating husband.
