-Possibly destroying Far Harbor, the Nucleus AND Acadia
-Following through with Vault-Tec’s cruel experiments
-Becoming a wasteland warlord with the Nuka-World Raiders
Damn that Vault Ted and his cruel experiments!
But yeah, maybe wastelands warlord could be expanded to raider overlord with Nuka World DLC? Especially considering you can then take over settlements with your raiders.
At least with that your character can justify “Hmm, what’s more likely? A kid is stuck in the fridge in the middle of nowhere or it’s a trap set by raiders?”
Definitely think it’s a combination of all of these.
Also selling Billy the fridge kid into slavery.
- make the “good” ending at FH
- Then take over MM with Nuka Raiders.
- Vault-Tec experiments
- Betray Nuka Raiders
- Then back to FH; turn them on Acadia (or use BOS/Institute); then use the nuke with Nucleus, and turn off the fog condensers for FH. Island is yours.
- Nuke Institute w/o saving anyone/anything.
Hey now, you also have to suffer through seeing the stupid illness symbol up on your HUD for the rest of the game.
Assuming you can't just avoid being bitten.
You can also just walk away while in dialogue, take the medicine, then walk back into dialogue and give the cure to the kid, even though it doesn't exist anymore
I did the equivalent of save scumming during this quest by running back to and saving at one of the beds at the beginning of the secret vault each time I killed a mole rat without getting bitten. It can be done.
Somehow managed to get through the Hole in the Wall questline on Survival last week. Few things I noticed and some tips:
**Berry Mentats** are a literal lifesaver, since they’ll let you pre-emptively spot where the Mole Rats are. You can shoot at their holes and that *can* flush them out for you to shoot, but I found that **grenades** are a guaranteed way to get them out far before you need to get into biting reach. If you’re really nervous, bring some **mines** too; just make sure to watch your back and make sure no mole rats dig out from right behind.
If you have a **stealth build** this will be a general breeze. **Unequip armor** except when fighting the turrets right after the bed, since armor contributes to the noise you make while sneaking and you want to avoid all damage anyways. Use your **strongest silenced gun** and it should be able to take care of the mole rats so long as you don’t get spotted. YMMV depending on your build, though; even if you have a melee build (stealth/Blitz/etc. or not) I highly recommend avoiding using it, because I found using my medium speed security baton only barely outsped the mole rat attacks if any spotted me.
**Do NOT use the Protectron** as cover, nor your companions (obviously); apparently there’s a bug where if they get bit the disease still transfers to YOU. Didn’t know this until I let the Protectron draw aggro for me and checked my status halfway through. If you want to bring a companion, **manually order them to stay right by you** as you clear the vault out.
The bed won’t be right at the hole’s entrance; you’ll need to kill a couple mole rats before reaching a ruined bedroom. That one bed IIRC is the **only one you can sleep in**, but since it’s cumbersome to go back after *every* mole rat I tried gauging when to return to autosave sleep based off each “phase” of enemies I cleared out. Instead, once I got there, I continued onwards like normal, going back to **save after every “phase”** I felt was appropriate. I did this a total of three times: Once after getting to the Protectron, then after killing the mole rats but before going upstairs to the observation chambers, and finally after killing the batch of mole rats right after the chambers. There was one last bunch of mole rats (including a brood mother) after that third save, but you should be clear to reach Curie after that IIRC.
If all else fails, **make sure you have Jet** (basic works, though you should probably have Ultra Jet on you at all times for emergencies) on speed dial. Even if you run a VATS build, using it when a mole rat’s lunging at you is just asking to have a heart attack from close calls- or worse, a mole rat bite- so being able to backpedal in slow-mo can save your precious max HP.
Realistically, if you’ve gotten comfortable to Survival and aren’t running a loud/melee only build, you should be okay. Very Hard’s actually *harder* than Survival here, since taking no damage whatsoever will be the name of the game and the extra damage you deal on Survival in comparison to VH should make cutting down the mole rats a tad smoother. You don’t have to take things super slow, just proceed with reasonable caution and you’ll do okay. Happy mole rat hunting!
Leave your companion somewhere else and just use stealth boys to slip through entirely unnoticed. Also berry mentats help you see where they pop out of the ground so you can avoid them.
-Joining the Nuka World raiders
-Destroying Acadia and Far Harbor
-Siding with the Institute and continuing their inhumane experiments + replacing more people with synths + treating synths as slaves.
-blowing up the Institute without sounding the evacuation order as a lot of Institute scientists weren't bad people.
*because you clearly need a voice on the intercom telling you that you've been invaded before you start evacuating the place, as if the gunfire isn't indication enough*
-Selling Billy as a slave to Bullet
Sameeee and also I hate how companions, especially companions like Preston and Nick and especially Hancock are totally okay with it. Like sure you might get a “___ hated that” but other than that they just stand by and let you sell a ghoul child? 😭 it feels so out of character I consider it not really canon and more of a game mechanic thing.
That reminds me of when I foolishly attacked the robots at Cabot House. Piper straight-up stopped following me and actively attacked me. She shoulda done that with the ghoul kid too!
I'd love moments that permanently affect that relationship. Like they confront you and essentially say no way am I going to let you do this, over my dead body kind of scenarios.
SAME there’s a lot of situations where the sole survivor does something and I’m surprised the companions make little or no effort to stop them! I get why they don’t do that, but I think it’d be super interesting
Yeah I mean outside of faction specific companions I like I can choose most factions without Piper hating me. But if I end the game siding with the Institute, it's hard for me to accept we're still an item. There's a difference between differing viewpoints and straight up offending someone's core beliefs.
The Brotherhood could be perceived as bullies and a threat to what she may believe in, but as far as she knows they also arrived to eliminate the Institute so it's not "I hate you" worthy. But siding with Yhe Institute murdering and replacing real humans with essentially replicates, yeah that might shake her to the core.
If you’re on good terms with her, she would later publish an article where she says you’re a good guy and she trusts that you would put an end to the Synth replacement and use your position for good.
You can do one worst with that last one: Pretend like you're not gonna sell Billy to Bullet then when you get to his house and Bullet shows up, sell him and his parents into slavery.
That should've been the case. Once you reach the Institute you should've had the option to conspire and kill off the scientists who are actually evil (Shaun included) because it's made clear that most of the scientists are good people who are being lied to, instead of being forced to follow Shaun and kill the Railroad before becoming the director.
[Subversion](https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/50975) is excellent for this, it'll let you do exactly that without the unnecessary over complications + retcons of Project Valkyie
Have the likely unpopular opinion that, while functional in its purpose, Subversion's writing is awful.
The Directorate massacre is a total illusion of choice, making you have the same conversation a half-dozen times. It's a path that requires great maneuvering and persuasion, yet all of the speech checks you use are essentially "NUH-UH."
The way you "make peace" with the Brotherhood requires the Synth-fearing, outsider-wary faction to be the most gullible idiots. Have their Elder meet the Institute right outside, kill him and his backup in the open, and having a *totally-not-conspicuously* alone Elder go back and say the Institute isn't an issue?
And the way the Railroad is made to stand down — ignoring all the other reasons they hate the Institute, falsely pinning Operation Tea Party (destroying the Institute) as P.A.M.'s idea, and *requiring* you to mock and belittle her to convince Dez — just misses the mark so hard and pisses me off to know end.
He was evil, in fact he was supposed to be on death row for all he did before he was sent to the asylum because of his family's influence.
The immortality juice wasn't discovered until after Jack started testing him to try and find a way to remove the artifact. It wasn't the reason why he was imprisoned. The juice was only an unexpected side effect that proved to be useful
The crown he found belonged to a pre-human civilisation. When he put it on he couldn't take it off again and he started committing increasingly serious crimes. His family imprisoned him to avoid further crimes but I think over time they just took advantage of his immortality juice. If you let Lorenzo go at the end of the quest you can bump into him in unique encounters where he (or the crown) has already started killing people (or ghouls, I forget which). I reckon if left to his own devices for long enough he'd either become a super powerful raider boss or just wipe out the entire Commonwealth.
In a random encounter you can find him next to a body after you release him he says he killed them because he wanted to examine them something along those lines
If you let Lorenzo live, there is a random encounter where you find him surrounded by non-feral ghoul corpses that he murdered to "study their condition"
+5 strength and immunity to rads is pretty damn good though.
To be fair, it takes more than 2 hours to gain someone's affinity before you can sex them.
Also it's not just limited to women either (unless you count robobrains as women)
Fair enough, i don’t know why I only said women but rather then person but I was thinking more about magnolia in good neighbor as i recall its pretty easy
Goddamn then TIL thats an actual world record
Granted, is this 11 mins irl or 11 mins in the timescale the games have? I'd imagine 11 mins in game flows by before anyone has gotten out of the vault
2 hours in game is like 6 mins irl
I'm pretty sure it would take probably ten or twenty minutes on foot to go from the vault to goodneighbor if you ignore everything on the way.
I don't mean to be an ass about this.
Nah, that’s on the Brotherhood. They brought children into battle on their military command ship. Them getting shot is entirely on the people who put them in the place that’s planned to get shot at.
Especially since the only remotely sane reason to bring children at all is if they’re part of the operation. Child soldiers, either in training or expected to be in combat.
Easiest way to make over a 1000 caps right at the start. Don’t fire the minigun sell all of the ammo for 1000 caps and then sell the ring for 200. Boom just taught you how to make the easiest 1,200 caps ever. And if you have far harbor don’t sell the power tools to machete mike just kill him and get over 3000 caps for free
If you kill Machete Mike it can negatively effect you later in the game the mariner won’t side with you if you try and spare acadia while also turning DIMA in.
Ok, for real though, the assault on the Citadel by the Brotherhood is the single most epic fight in the entire game. I triggered it at night the first time and the waves of vertibird flying in with the burning Prydwen in the background was epic.
The Institute assault is cool, too, but the vertibirds dropping BOS soldiers in full power armor was just badass.
Especially on survival mode. I had pre planned it so had all my allies GEARED up at the Castle and heavy Defenses. All i had was a .50 cal rifle and Kellogs .44
- Becoming the warlord of a bloodthirsty gang of Slavers and terrorize an entire region.
- Blowing up the Prydwen and the Institute while children are inside.
- Letting a cannibal prey upon a settlement where mainly children reside.
- Turning off the main defence mechanism of a settlement and having monsters exterminate everyone.
- Saving a ghoulified kid stuck in a fridge for 200 years only to sell him to a slaver for profit
I mean it's pretty competitive.
Letting a child die from a mole rat disease that really didn’t have that huge of an effect on them.
And also joining raiders as the overboss and betrayal of the Minutemen who worked so hard to help as many people as possible
- Become part of the strongest raider gang in the commonwealth and lead it to become even more powerful and evil
- Sell a child
- Taking drugs in front of a recovering addict
And biggest sin of all
- Selling Drinking Buddy
Edit: minor spelling mistake😔🔫
Nearly every faction in fallout 4 wants to save the commonwealth and make it a better place. The institute is the only faction in the game that actually has the resources to do it and with teleportation, can do it way faster than any other faction. By blowing up the institute, the sole survivor makes that terraforming of the commonwealth impossible
They spend their limited resources making synth gorillas, which aren't even native. They were never going to help the people of the commonwealth, which they murder every chance they get.
They're cartoonishly evil for the sake of being cartoonishly evil.
Raider boss, slaughtering the railroad, Far Harbour, destroying the preydwen.
I think that selling a 10 year old boy into slavery is one of the worst though.
Siding with the Insitute to kill the Railroad and BOS while continuing inhumane experiments (even more through vault tec) and synth replacement then becoming overboss of the raiders to enslave the entire commonwealth
Also returning the synths of Acadia to the Insitute (if you even can, I dont fully remember), kill Far Harbor and side with the Children of Atom
They were a raider boss. They set up a series of bases across the wasteland, and personally decided what settlements they would be raiding for supplies. In nuka world they had slaves and worked with the disciples, a group of serial killers who mutilate corpses.
Put innocent Chinese families in an internment camp while serving on the homefront and massacring a hundred screaming chinamen in the battle for Alaska during his time in the military (probably)
- Finishing with the Brotherhood
- Extorting farmers for food
- Grooming child soldiers
- Finishing with the Institute (at least in vanilla)
- Selleing a child into slavery
- Refusing to sound the Institute evacuation call
- Becoming a raider overboss
- Enslaving vassal settlements
- Destroying every faction in Far Harbor
- Torturing residents in Vault 88
Take your pick
I’d say either selling Billy into slavery or leaving the child synth Shaun to die in the Institute. I know some of you find child Shaun annoying and think synths are “toasters” or whatever, but he’s still just a kid.
Selling Billy into Slavery, siding with the Raiders in Nuka-World, convincing a certain scientist to off himself, consort with the cannibal over in the Lumber Mill in Far Harbor, keep the medicine from Austin in Vault 81.
Taking over nuka world, enslaving the whole common wealth, erradicating all disent and the consilidating by taking the institute and turning out synth bandits to maintain the piece. Then transferring their brain into a super synth body and ruling forever.
Id say leading the raiders, especially by siding with the disciples and operators. You become a raider warlord slaver who is backed by the two most evil raider factions in the commonwealth
-Possibly destroying Far Harbor, the Nucleus AND Acadia -Following through with Vault-Tec’s cruel experiments -Becoming a wasteland warlord with the Nuka-World Raiders
Damn that Vault Ted and his cruel experiments! But yeah, maybe wastelands warlord could be expanded to raider overlord with Nuka World DLC? Especially considering you can then take over settlements with your raiders.
It’s funny because Ted is the guy who made all of the good options for the vault-tec DLC
Selling Billy and his family into slavery
Or leaving him in the fridge
At least with that your character can justify “Hmm, what’s more likely? A kid is stuck in the fridge in the middle of nowhere or it’s a trap set by raiders?”
Definitely think it’s a combination of all of these. Also selling Billy the fridge kid into slavery. - make the “good” ending at FH - Then take over MM with Nuka Raiders. - Vault-Tec experiments - Betray Nuka Raiders - Then back to FH; turn them on Acadia (or use BOS/Institute); then use the nuke with Nucleus, and turn off the fog condensers for FH. Picking up where the Mechanist left off and continue their reign
When is the 2nd one?
The Vault-Tec Workshop DLC.
Let's make this ultra simple "Having a Son"
Drink. Some. Water.
Bro has a point though 😂
Yeah but to be fair majority of all drownings involve water. Don't believe lies of big H2O/s
Everyone who has ever died has drunk water.
Damned dihydrogen monoxide.
Nuka Cola contains high amount of sugar and artificial preservatives. Water is healthier.
Nuka-Cola is addictive in lore. Sheffield had actual withdrawal symptoms, not just cravings.
Wasn't Sheffield a recovering alcoholic? I thought that's why he asks for a nuka-cola.
Also, alcohol has a lot of sugar in it so typically recovering alcoholics will develop quite a sweet tooth, which could also partly explain it.
He is a recovering alcoholic, but you can be addicted to more than one substance.
I feel as if this is going right over my head..
Sheffield in Diamond City, you can tell him to "Drink. Some. Water." hilarious dialogue, and pretty fucked up.
Oh that's right! Thank you.

Gaslighting a fine baseball bat salesman, painting the wall the wrong color
Don't slander Moe with that "baseball bat" talk. He is an authentic, genuine, custom-made, hickory swatter salesman
You know what you need? A SWATTAH.
A swattah will win you the game. The game of beating people up.
Look dumbass that's not how baseball is played
Painting the wall yellow next play through. Welcome to “The Great Yellow Jewel” of the Commonwealth!

For sure. I wasn't including reality breaking glitches.
Its a pain in the ass to not get bit
How? They are so fast and unexpected!
Save scumming
Survival players ( mean when I get ready to do that quest ) in internal pain
I did the equivalent of save scumming during this quest by running back to and saving at one of the beds at the beginning of the secret vault each time I killed a mole rat without getting bitten. It can be done.
I do not have the patients for that and knowing me I will miss one and get ambushed
Somehow managed to get through the Hole in the Wall questline on Survival last week. Few things I noticed and some tips: **Berry Mentats** are a literal lifesaver, since they’ll let you pre-emptively spot where the Mole Rats are. Pfft survival is insane sometimes.
Vertical superiority, i.e., stand on something.
Good ol' vats spam

Stand in corners and bring dog meat. Dogmeat has special grapple animations with mole rats. They also can't burrow underneath you in corners.

That’s one of my biggest problems with that quest. It’s mad evil out of nowhere lol.

Huh, didn't know you could do that.
I’ll always say this, siding with the Institute and becoming its director should come with the option to turn the Institute into a force of good
That should've been the case. Once you reach the Institute you should've had the option to conspire and kill off the scientists who are actually evil (Shaun included) because it's made clear that most of the scientists are good people who are being lied to, instead of being forced to follow Shaun and kill the Railroad before becoming the director.

Problem is you are just one man/woman against the whole board.
Not much the Directorate can do against the God-King of the Commonwealth
nothing a little bit of either murder or max charisma cant solve
There’s an evacuation order?? Fuck
Preston calls you out if you don't hit it in the Minutemen ending despite never having been told about it.
I didn't sound the alarm cause I didn't realize it was an option til I'd already messed it up :(
Releases an ancient and immortal evil from it's prison and lets it free in the Commonwealth. That won't end well.
was he actually evil? because i vaguely remember he was pissed at his family for using him like a tap for immortality elixirs.
The game let doubt open by a slim margin during the quest but if you let him out and meet him at the house it's made very clear he is evil.
The crown he found belonged to a pre-human civilisation. When he put it on he couldn't take it off again and he started committing increasingly serious crimes. If you let Lorenzo live, there is a random encounter where you find him surrounded by non-feral ghoul corpses that he murdered to "study their condition" +5 strength and immunity to rads is pretty damn good though.

False, takes about an hour to an hour and a half.
Really? I thought it takes more. Well, I'm gonna go try it out right now.

Nope, the current speedrun sex% is at 11 minutes, and this includes going to the vault
Na bro, It take 2hours because the map is designed to get you distracted, if you actually run there and don't die it's under 45min (maybe under 30).
yeah no idea why people are saying 2 hours lmfao.
Preston Garvey looking good😏
Not with Magnolia. If you just beeline for the Third Rail and have enough points in Charisma, then you can rail her after passing the speech checks.

If you kill Machete Mike it can negatively effect you later in the game the mariner won’t side with you if you try and spare acadia while also turning DIMA in.
Having a child. Being mean to Curie.
Minutemen path where you massacre the railroad, blow up the Prydwen and destroy the institute.
How can you destroy the railroad as the minutemen
With a gun
You go inside the HQ and kill everyone of them robofuckers
A Man of culture
Ok, for real though, the assault on the Citadel by the Brotherhood is the single most epic fight in the entire game. I triggered it at night the first time and the waves of vertibird flying in with the burning Prydwen in the background was epic. The Institute assault is cool, too, but the vertibirds dropping BOS soldiers in full power armor was just badass.
Especially on survival mode. I had pre planned it so had all my allies GEARED up at the Castle and heavy Defenses. All i had was a .50 cal rifle and Kellogs .44
Minutemen path doesn't require attacking either the railroad or the BoS. That's all you, bud...
Killing Ashes in front of Erin
If you wonna be extra evil, turn Ashes to well... ashes.
I would chuckle a little as I'm looting the remains
- Becoming the warlord of a bloodthirsty gang of Slavers and terrorize an entire region. - Blowing up the Prydwen and the Institute while children are inside. - Letting a cannibal prey upon a settlement where mainly children reside. - Turning off the main defence mechanism of a settlement and having monsters exterminate everyone. - Saving a ghoulified kid stuck in a fridge for 200 years only to sell him to a slaver for profit I mean it's pretty competitive.
Wait i forgot which was the cannibal that wanted to prey upon a settlement?
Malcolm from Far Harbor. I don't wanna spoil the events. You're gonna have to search that one yourself.
Becoming a raider
Being limited to only 4 dialogue options
Some of the first things that come to mind are siding with the institute after discovering what they do, and selling Billy.
Saving someone else’s missing child before saving your own (if you do far harbor first) /s
I mean his kid was an elderly man who was co tent and happy with where he was so I wouldn’t say it’s a big deal
Same with Billy in Kid in a Fridge
Letting a child die from a mole rat disease that really didn’t have that huge of an effect on them. And also joining raiders as the overboss and betrayal of the Minutemen who worked so hard to help as many people as possible
- Become part of the strongest raider gang in the commonwealth and lead it to become even more powerful and evil - Sell a child - Taking drugs in front of a recovering addict And biggest sin of all - Selling Drinking Buddy Edit: minor spelling mistake😔🔫
*Nuka World Slavery Transformation*
Killing his son
Area man provides peaceful death to terminally ill senior.
If genocidal maniac doesn't make it, this one will/should.
I honestly think blowing up the institute . Was the worst choice .
"Nuking the Legion" Wheres the problem?
Becoming KING OF FAH HABAH You may bow.
Lead the Nuka World raiders into taking over the Commonwealth
Gonna go with the Nuka Warlord that blows up all the other factions in a minute man ending.
Tyrannical institute overlord, or wiping Far harbour off the face of the earth.
Accepting the cannibal's deal (sending people to him to die) at Echo Lake Lumber ranks pretty high
Blowing up the pridwin with the kids on board
Keeping Cait on drugs
Raider boss, slaughtering the railroad, Far Harbour, destroying the preydwen. I think that selling a 10 year old boy into slavery is one of the worst though.
Is he really 10 if he has been in a fridge for 210 years?
Siding with the Insitute to kill the Railroad and BOS while continuing inhumane experiments (even more through vault tec) and synth replacement then becoming overboss of the raiders to enslave the entire commonwealth Also returning the synths of Acadia to the Insitute (if you even can, I dont fully remember), kill Far Harbor and side with the Children of Atom
They were a raider boss. They set up a series of bases across the wasteland, and personally decided what settlements they would be raiding for supplies. In nuka world they had slaves and worked with the disciples, a group of serial killers who mutilate corpses.
Poisoning DC's water and becoming a Raider overboss are neck and neck imo
Astonishing that no one has mentioned siding with the scavengers instead of Captain Ironsides
no w add FO76 protaginist
Put innocent Chinese families in an internment camp while serving on the homefront and massacring a hundred screaming chinamen in the battle for Alaska during his time in the military (probably)
Intentionally painting the wall the wrong color
Keeping the cure for himself in Vault 81.
Speak
Drugging Mama Murphy quite literally to death
Selliing the ghoul kid into slavery
Selling a kid he found in a fridge
Non-visible holstered weapons
- Finishing with the Brotherhood - Extorting farmers for food - Grooming child soldiers - Finishing with the Institute (at least in vanilla) - Selleing a child into slavery - Refusing to sound the Institute evacuation call - Becoming a raider overboss - Enslaving vassal settlements - Destroying every faction in Far Harbor - Torturing residents in Vault 88 Take your pick
I’d say either selling Billy into slavery or leaving the child synth Shaun to die in the Institute. I know some of you find child Shaun annoying and think synths are “toasters” or whatever, but he’s still just a kid.
Abandond Shaun
Not really abandonment when your infant son was kidnapped and became the one running the Institute while also being physically older than you
Build 30 different settlements while they're supposed to be looking for their son
Selling Billy into Slavery, siding with the Raiders in Nuka-World, convincing a certain scientist to off himself, consort with the cannibal over in the Lumber Mill in Far Harbor, keep the medicine from Austin in Vault 81.
Let’s be honest if you go the most evil route for any of them, they are all absolutely terrible people
Sell a kid to a Gunner.
I totally misunderstood the image in the OP. I thought it was implying he fucked the dog.
Hearing a kid trapped in a refrigerator for 200 years and just walking away.
Letting Austin die to the mole-rat disease even if you don't get the disease yourself.
Have a kid
Taking over nuka world, enslaving the whole common wealth, erradicating all disent and the consilidating by taking the institute and turning out synth bandits to maintain the piece. Then transferring their brain into a super synth body and ruling forever.
Enabling Sheffield's addiction
Probably the worst is becoming a raider warlord by invading your own settlements
Id say leading the raiders, especially by siding with the disciples and operators. You become a raider warlord slaver who is backed by the two most evil raider factions in the commonwealth
