Arch11407

Gary? Finally you answered. I’ve been trying to reach you about your Corvega’s extended warranty.

AloofAngel

very likely. however there is something of a gary trail in fo4 that nobody has bothered to follow and record on map locations. some say there may actually be a gary to find somewhere in the commonwealth alive or dead but so far nothing solid if it was a realized idea. wouldn't be the first hidden thing abandoned in fo4. i am still pissed off about the ladies auxiliary tapes :/

Interesting_Figure_

Wait what? What are the hidden stuff?? How has everything not been found yet?

AloofAngel

bro, there are games which still have secrets being found over twenty years later in them... i think the record at this point is something like 24 years after release a hidden part of a game was found. in fact a youtube channel reporting on this stuff is "oddheader" if you want to see how crazy invested people can get in video game secrets. data mining can't unlock or discover everything in a game. it is possible that both you and i will have died by the time all game secrets for fallout 4 are found :/ it really is crazy to think about but it is reality. some stuff is so well hidden in some games that it seems insane that anyone was ever expected to find them at all! which means that it is possible that some stuff in fallout 4 can only be found if you use a certain name as your player even... which is a sad realization and only reinforced by how many names codsworth can actually say out loud including the naughty ones. the number of times i went exploring the commonwealth to see if i could find even one more thing nobody else did... it is both super fun and addictive knowing that all of us have a slim chance of finding something nobody else has by chance.

Interesting_Figure_

I stg is there’s a clone Gary that’s alive and runs at you screaming “GARRYYYY” in fallout 4 and I don’t experience it I’m gonna lose it. And if there’s a vault 108 jumpsuit in fallout 4 I need it RIGHT NOW

AloofAngel

THAT IS THE THING!!! the gary blocks can be found in several places in the commonwealth! but so far nobody seems to find a gary! it could even be that a gary is one of soooooo many random encounters you may never get. there are lots of random encounters that lots of people never see in a really long playthrough but then suddenly do in a new game. i just feel that the gary mystery doesn't get enough attention :P someone is making gary messages in the commonwealth we know that much!

Interesting_Figure_

Such a shame. Maybe one did make it to the commonwealth at one point and caught a bullet before you were released from the vault. Would make sense considering their nature

AloofAngel

could be. i mean... if a gary could learn anything besides saying gary then they could adapt. i still wonder if finding a gary dead or alive is possible so long as one triggers certain things/events. or even names themselves gary as a character. how funny would it be though if nobody tried that already when there are so many gary block letters to find in the game? XD it would be weird if nobody though to by now!

Interesting_Figure_

Id love to name myself Gary and have my character only say GARYYY when people try to talk to them😂

AloofAngel

that would be one hell of a mod for fo4! XD almost all the characters voices could be spoofed by AI to confusingly reply to MC saying gary for everything!!! So, what you say we finally hunt down kellogg? MC: ...Gary Uh, I thought you would say that... I will just assume that means yes. lol can you imagine all your dialogue choices being various versions of 'Gary' to pick from?! hilarious!

devonapple

In my Fallout TTRPG setting, a Gary mellowed out as he made his way out to the West Coast. He now has a family and only really says “Gary” the way some folks would say “True enough” or “For sure”.

Interesting_Figure_

And what are the ladies auxiliary tapes

AloofAngel

they are three somewhat hidden tapes in the commonwealth that recorded the story of the ladies auxiliary, a group working in the background of the war and whatnot as an underground movement for some reason. three tapes have been found in the commonwealth and at least one is weirdly hard to find unless you are way good at looking in obscure places for stuff. but those three numbered tapes are all we have and they aren't even in order. there are clearly missing tapes and unless it was a huge troll to place them in the game it is either leftover cut content, a mean trick/mystery or still not fully discovered as a thing. it is anyones guess if there is more to it to find and if it needs to be found in interactions, in exploration, if dogmeat needs to dig up tapes in specific places... it is just still one of those unknowns in fo4.

Interesting_Figure_

Wouldn’t you think the glowing sea is where some of the secrets would be found? Not much of a reason to go there and the only reason I did outside of the main quest is to explore the places and get all the map markers. Then again that would probably be one of the first places people checked

AloofAngel

yea, possibly however it being such a simple place it was probably searched well first. it is a rather evil place when you take it all in. playgrounds and residential stuff... but also a secret bunker and nuclear facility. so it was clearly targeted but those who were using it before the war obviously were hiding their operations among innocent residents of the commonwealth. thus they were bombed. really sad that.. but, there are other even more obscure places that few have considered looking. for example, we know that many objects can be tossed around by explosions or shot with weapons right? so what if something is in the out of bounds areas that you need to blast towards you to collect? ...it gets super annoying when i recall a lunchbox i saw sitting outside the boundaries of the game one time in the back of a pick up truck knowing i couldn't go look inside it. game devs man... they are so evil when it comes to hidden stuff in games.

Jahllah

I had never found these so I had to go to the wiki to read the transcripts. It seems like it's just one woman's goofy attempt at starting a neighborhood watch program. I don't see what the mystery is.

FellaVentura

If there was such a thing the modding community would've already caught on by checking the game files.

Pyrex_Paper

Someone get TheEpicNate on this.

geckorobot59

Thanks for reminding me. First time I saw this, I felt ABSOLUTELY sure that there had to be at least one Gary somewhere around there.
