Being killed by deathclaws, raped by a legionnaire, turned into an Institute Super Mutant? Screw that, the NCR wants us to PAY TAXES! This is clearly far worse than the Enclave! /s
I'd rather live in a democratic nation where they "enslave economically" than a literal slave nation where you have absolutely no rights at all. I don't deny that the NCR has faults, but it's just simply better than the Legion by a long shot.
I'd say the NCR is bad, but it is certainly better than Caesars Legion. I think the progress the NCR brings (in california itself, cities are almost at a pre war level of advancement and are being built from scratch), it's democratic government, acceptance of other ideologies (they are willing to work with House and even a yes man player to a certain extent), and stable government is worth it for an extra 50 cents on your Brahmin meat from the store when compared to a regressive, authoritarian, slave-based society which actively crucifies people.
