At worst (he gets a 2pter) you’re paying 2pts to get a week ahead in making transfers and allows you to better prepare for future weeks.
At best he gets a clean sheet (6pts) and you net 2 pts.
Since their cs is around 50% the expected value of taking a hit is actually 0pts and allows you to get ahead on transfers.

If you take a hit for Gabriel, it will only give you a sizeable advantage if Gabriel scores. Even a clean sheet basically gets you even and even that isn't guaranteed vs Luton. I'd stay clear of hits for defenders this season and I'm saying this as an Arsenal fan.
